![]() Author has written 8 stories for Harry Potter, Hetalia - Axis Powers, Avengers, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, and Homestuck. Cara here, hello, aren't you nice for reading my profile aw. You can expect a lot of slash from me, and I do wish I wrote more femslash/hetrosexual stuff but ah I just can't seem to quite work it out yet. Fandoms are generally Hetalia, simply because I understand the characters! But I do have beginnings of plans for a Homestuck fic, perhaps an Ace Attorney fic too. Doctor Who, Sherlock, SNK, all that lot, are other things that I would consider writing. I'll post all of my stuff on my other online accounts too, probably I hate to admit it, but the stuff I have written pre 2013 is a bit... hm. Well upon reading over it I can see millions of holes in my plots etc. However I intend to change all of that with excessive planning and drafts etc. with future fics. Generally I'll be taking things an awful lot more seriously! Thank you to anyone who has read this, ever read any of my fics, and an extra special thank you and a big hug to those of you kind people that have reviewed/favorited/followed. Seriously, the positive feedback I have received here has given me a gigantic confidence boost and the improvement I have seem in my writing is astonishing. Thank you. Tumblr -- http:/// Name: Cara Gender: Girl Age: Sixteen Hobbies are: Recently I've had a giant thing for sewing. Writing, of course, and I play piano and flute, and I do karate (badly). Dislikes are: Ugh that that's a hard one. Generally bitchiness? Negativity? Hypocrites? Aha I'm guilty of all three oops. Oh and exams ugh the devil's spawn. Likes are: Lots of things! Food! Um, my lovely friends, music, sleep, fandoms, positivity... I can't really think of any more to list! Favorite colour: Cobalt-y blue Favorite pairings: Shit um ok I'll limit myself to 1-2 per fandom... ok Hetalia: USUK, Spamano, (I also have a think for Wales/Scotland since I wrote it and a guilty pleasure for PrUK and PrJap) Homestuck: DirkJake, Rosemary, BroJohn. Harry Potter: James/Sirius, Sirius/Remus, Remus/Severus, Severus/James, Severus/Lily Ace Attorney: NaruMitsu, fluffy Gumshoe/Edgeworth, Maya/Phoenix. Urrrm there are lots more but uh yeah. OTPs: Probably USUK, DirkJake, NaruMitsu, Sirius/Remus, oH AND GUMSHOE/MAGGEY goodness so cute. Home country: North Wales Appearence: Pretty... average I think. I have sort of an awkward coloured hair that is an odd mix of ginger, brown and a dark blonde. There has been many a discussion on what colour it is, usually the conclusion being ginger, but I prefer to call it bringer. I have brown eyes and caterpillar eyebrows, pale-ish skin. I'm about 5"6' and I've recently begun to love wearing big knitted dresses and lovely scarves because it's winter and no one can stop me. I like trench coats too. Personality: Ummmm... I change a lot and quickly. I can be mischevous, but also incredibly wimpy and worried about other people's reactions to what I do. Even if I'm with the same people I can flick from one personality to another in a matter of minutes! Though there are generl common denominators with each, I guess. I'm generally quite quiet around those who I'm not comfortable with (who isn't...!?) though loud whenever I know it's okay to be, and providing I'm in the right mood of course. I've been told by some I'm very motherly, but others laugh and say "What, you? Motherly!?" I could be considered 'clever' in some respects but not in others (common sense aha). I would say I'm in touch with my feelings and other people's, but I'm not generally over-sentimental. Well. I can be very sentimental with certain things (... romance...) but GENERALLY SPEAKING that's what I'm like. Does that give you a better idea...? Fanfiction Meme 1.) How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in? I think the first fandom I ever wrote for must've been Shugo Chara, but I was so innocent at that point I didn't even know what fanfiction was. My friend introduced me to fanfiction about 4 years ago. The first fanfiction I wrote knowing it was fanfiction must've been for Hetalia :D The thing that pulled me in about Hetalia? I have no idea, the pairings were so cute! And everyone was doing it so I jumped on the bandwagon. 2.) Name the fandoms you've written in, and how much you've written in that fandom, and if you still write in it. The stuff that I've posted on here I've written for Hetalia, the Avengers and Harry Potter, but the stuff I haven't posted I think there's Shugo Chara, Portal 2, My Chemical Romance (mainly requests from school friends...) and some other ones. I've mainly written for hetalia, and I really want to get into writing in Doctor Who, more Harry Potter, Homestuck... some others too like Ace Attorney! 3.) For each of the fandoms from day two, what were your favorite characters to write? From Hetalia it has to be Arthur and Alfred X'D Antonio is good fun too, and, although he is an OC, Owain (My version of Wales X3) From Harry Potter, I'd say Sirius and Remus from their teenage years, and James and Lily are OH SO MUCH FUN to play around with XD from the Avengers, I just love abusing Loki, though I haven;t had much chance to yet XD Thor and Tony are fun too and I can't remember anything about the others XD Well I guess I like writing characters I understand, like I really get all of the Hetalia characters, especially England and America, yes I like writing those. Sirius is a lot of fun to write, too, as is Remus and James. I can imagine myself enjoying writing Rose or Jake from Homestuck because interesting characters, and Phoenix would be fun to tease too. As for original characters, I have to say I enjoy writing those most simply because they're mine! My most favorite characters to write are my own take on Wales and Scotland, because I love the dynamics and such between them 4.) Do you have a “muse” character, that speaks to you more than others, or that tries to push their way in, even when the fic isn’t about them? Who are they, and why did that character become your muse? Well... When I was younger and I wrote more original stuff, yes I did. In story assignments we did in school I would always give my characters little cameos where they would appear for a brief moment, or the main character would have their name or be very similar looks wise to them, like a little joke that only I got! Hell I still do that now aha. But more recently with more fanfiction stuff I've been doing that less and less. But, saying that, with this new fic I am planning, a Hetalia one, I am making it semi-autobiographical in the sense that I will take scenarios from my daily life and apply it to ceratin Hetalia characters. Because of this I've now taken on almost a second viewpoint of my life, and every thing that happens, for instance an argument in school, I instantly apply to these characters, how they would react, what I would need to modify etc ect. to the point where I've found I have been accidentally using male pronouns now and again to refer mentally to myself! Does that count as a muse? 5.) If you have ever had a character try to push their way into a fic, whether your “muse” or not, what did you do about it? Ah well usually, with original characters, as no one KNOWS them I can just give in and give them a tiny cameo. But luckily for me, no fandom character has tried to muscle their way into a scene they're not needed in yet! 6.) When you write, do you prefer writing male or female characters? Both are incredibly interesting to work with. Because most of the stuff I am doing is fandom-based, and most of the fandoms I'm in have a lot of male characters, I have to say I'm more confident writing guys over girls. However with homestuck blooming on the horizon that could change drastically! 7.) Have you ever had a fic change your opinion of a character? Yes! I remember reading one fanfiction that made me despise Russia, I never really liked him, but this made me HATE him and I was never too fond of China before I read 'The Invitational Year' but now I understand him more and like him for it, same with Spain. Though I remember liking him because of a piece of fanart I found of Deviantart of him cosplaying as the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who, and, because I adore David Tennant, I started to adore Spain. 8.) Do you write OCs? And if so, what do you do to make certain they’re not Mary Sues, and if not, explain your thoughts on OCs. I do write OC characters. I know some people find them annoying, but I just can't not put them in! I feel like I need to inject my own sort of angle. And to make them not Mary Sues... hmmm... well, with some characters I like to make them seem perfect, but once the main canon character gets to know them, a more imperfect side is revealed, because I think that way is more realistic. Or perhaps reverse that; make them look like they are simply the worst person in the world, and slowly reveal all their good qualities. Make them human! I like to think of myself, think of my flaws and my feats, and edit and apply that. 9.) Pairings – For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favorite pairings to write? Three oh God okay. Hetalia it has to be USUK because I'm just so comfortable with these two! PrUK, which I've just gotten used to writing and haven't yet posted, and... something with Japan in I dunno GiriPan or PruJap because Japan is really cute. Harry Potter well I love anything with the marauders in as you can probably tell already! James/Lily of course, as for Lily/Severus too. Oh and Albus/Scorpius too because they're cute. And I have yet to write them but from Homestuck I'm guessing its probably going to be the (mainstream) combo of DirkJake, RoseMary and BroJohn (or DaveJohn hm). And NaruMistu, Gumshoe/Maggey and Maya/Phoenix from Ace Attorney (all still yet to be written oops.) 10.) Pairings – Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone and written a pairing you liked, but found you couldn’t write, or a pairing you didn’t like, and found you could? I'm just about to do it XD for 'Things Change. Get over it.' I'm going to add in some RoChu - it's not that I hate it, it just doesn't seem to work for me... " and I was never too fond of PruCan - mainly because I dislike Canada XD but I hope I can write that pretty well (eventhoughI'mbreakingthemup.) 11.) Genre – do you prefer certain genres of fic when you’re writing? What kind do you tend to write most? Well I can't really speak from experience because so far the extent of my experimenting has not left the safe but boring realm of Highschool AU romance with very slight angst in. I haven't attempted anything too dramatic fic wise, though every original idea I have is very fantasy, sci-fi, steampunk oriented. I would love to successfully do a big, fancy fic in a complex genre like fantasy etc. though it would prove to be a big challenge! 12.) Have you ever attempted an “adaptation” fic of a favorite book or movie but set in a different fandom? No, I haven't sadly. 13.) Do you prefer canon or fanon when you write? Has writing fanfic for a fandom changed the way you see some or even all of the original source material? I like canon characterisation, but I do love little fanon references, like little HetaOni references throughout Hetalia fics, for instance. 14.) Ratings – how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you’re comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you’re writing is G-rated instead? Reading smut is good I like that. Writing I'm not so good at it, aha I've had no experience! But I am writing something with smut in that has yet to be posted. 15.) Warnings – What do you feel it most important to warn for, and what’s the strangest thing you’ve warned for in a fic? I haven't warned about anything so far other than a 'slightly heated' scene. I don't really like warnings, because they do kind of spoil a fic. Yes there's the whole thing about trigger warnings and rape and stuff like that. But I think if you give someone a good idea of what the fic's mood is. Lets be honest it's going to be pretty obscure if you get character death in a... I don't know a bunny AU or something. But if you have it set in the dark streets of America where anything could happen and its very dangerous, well I think the reader should kind of grasp that yes there is a big chance of character death/rape etc. 16.) Summaries – Do you like them or hate them? How do you come up with them, if you use them? Summaries are hard! Like harder than starting a chapter and that is really hard. I suck at them, too. 17.) Titles – Are they the bane of your existence, or the easiest part of the fic? Also, if you do chaptered fic, do you give each chapter a title, or not? Oh god I am awful at titles don't talk to me about those evil things! 18.) Where do you get the most inspiration for your fics (aka “bunnies”) from? Hmm... I'm not sure where I get my inspiration from - usually from daily life (and often holidays, too) and now and then when re-watching/reading a series, and noticing something and thinking 'oh! I could use that for so-and-so' or whatever. Most of my ideas come to me when I'm just about to fall asleep (which is frustrating because I can't remember them) just waking up (I woke up the other day and realised I was muttering plans for future chapters of 'the World Inside a Castle' aloud) Or in the shower. And as of recent, I've been walking around town and listening to little snippets of people's conversations as they walk past. Creepy, I know, but it does give me some really good ideas now and then. Also brainstorming with friends is always fun! 19.) When you have bunnies, do you sit down and start writing right away, or do you write down the idea for further use? (That sounds so cute) No, because I usually get 'bunnies' whenever I can't write them, so I either try my best to remember them (a moment of silence for the many bunnies I have forgotten...) or quickly type them down on my ipod. 20.) Do you ever get bunnied from other people’s stories or art in the same fandom? Sadly I do ._. but I feel terrible about it and like the idea's not mine. 21.) Sequels – Have you ever written a sequel to a fic you wrote, and if so, why, and if not, how do you feel about sequels? I have, and I kind of wish I didn't in hindsight! It's too long winded and it doesn't really have a purpose to it...! 22.) Have you ever participated in a fest or a Big Bang? If so, write about your favorite experience in relation to one. If not, are there any you’ve thought about doing? And if not, why not? I didn't just Google those to find out what they were 23.) When you post, where do you post to? Just your journal? Just an archive? Your own personal site? So far, only here, though I have plans to post future fics on Archive of our Own and Tumblr. 24.) Betaing – How many betas do you like to use to make sure there aren’t any major flaws in your fic? Do you have a Beta horror story or dream story? Sadly I have yet to use a beta for any of my fics, which isn't great. I generally read over it and act as a beta myself but that isn't ideal. I'm just too shy to ask anyone! 25.) Music – Do you listen to music while you write? Do you make playlists to get into a certain “mood” to write your fic? Do you need noise in general? Or do you need it completely quiet? Usually I listen to music when I write, but it doesn't really affect me. I kind of forget it's playing, it just blends into background noise, and often I only realise when my favourite song has been on at the very end of it. But I think it helps me concentrate a little better. Though I don't really get inspired by music, I don't know how to do it really? I often focus on the instruments more than the vocals, however so that might be part of it. Then I like to go on websites that generate general peaceful background noise, like rain or crackling fire etc. They really help set the mood for me! 26 – What is the oddest (or funniest) thing you’ve had to research for a fic? I think one of the oddest things I've had to research may have been methods of killing people used in Ancient China. I hope some day in the future I'll have to research something insane. And of course there's the usual stuff like "how to kiss correctly" and "what does an erection feel like" and "how to nickname your submissive". 27.) Where is your favorite place to write, and do you write by hand or on the computer? I write on my swirly (uncomfortable) chair by my desk! And occasionally in bed, like right now. I used to write by hand a lot, but not as much any more. 28 – Have you ever collaborated with anyone else, whether writing together, or having an artist work on a piece about your fic? Well, no not really I would like to though. But me and a friend did spend all lunch in McDonalds discussing Ace Attorney pirate AU with her arting and me ficcing and making cosplays for us. 29.) What is your current project or projects? 'Things change. Get over it' which I look back on with doubt because ah plot holes will I ever finish it!? And I'm writing another USUK Highschool AU (YES ANOTEHR ONE) which is still in pre-write-y stages. And also Ace Attorney ideas and Homestuck ideas are still in the though prepping progress. 30.) Do you have a favorite fic you’ve written? What makes it your favorite? And don’t forget to give us a link! My favourites USED to be these two http://www.fanfiction.ws/s/8129683/1/The-World-Inside-a-Castle and http://www.fanfiction.ws/s/8420559/1/Things-change-Get-over-it but um, looking back it's a bit... ':s' is the best way to put it. Plot holes! |
