*Bio*
I've been officially writing stories since I was about 9 or 10. While I was always praised for my skill, one cranky college professor's critiques killed my confidence for about 6yrs. Fanfiction was actually what brought me back into writing fiction recreationally. More specifically, “Hey, Arnold!” fanfiction. I got back into the show/fandom in 2009, read a LOT of fanfiction, and it drove me to want to write my own. Actually, the story took hold and wouldn't let go, so I really didn't have much choice in the matter. hehe
I've been writing fanficiton off and on ever since.
*Writing Info*
I mostly wrote one-shots, but I do have a small handful of WIPs.
*If you are a reader of one of my WIPs, I'm sorry for abandoning them. I swear it's not permanent. I DO intend to complete every story I've started.*
Around 2015, I started branching out to original works. You can find my originals on FictionPress under the same username.
I've been tag-teaming between original works and fanfiction ever since. Because of this, I may go on hiatuses here. No, I did not die. Please feel free to find me on FictionPress to see if I've updated there. You can also find current info on my writing progress via my blog: The Rogue's Scribe.
the rogues scribe. blogspot. com (just remove the spaces) It's updated every Tuesday at noon.
2017: I started really focusing on completing a story first before posting any part of it. This is to avoid further “abandoned” stories. However, I will still post “teasers” to get a feel for the audience.
*Writing Style*
I try to keep true-to-form, meaning I tend to write as close to the original writing “feel,” and I don't really branch into AUs. Not to say that I won't, it just won't be my norm. I also tend to write hetero-coupling. Not that it's better than other types of love, but I'm hetero, and so I kind of default to it. Again, not to say that I won't write anything else, but it won't be my norm.
I've been lovingly dubbed the Queen of Angst among my circle. I try to keep it from “emo-corner melodrama” but I do delve deep into the character's heads, and mess around a lot while I'm in there. I try to include outside conflicts as well, but my stories tend to be largely inner conflicts and how the characters overcome them.
I tend to be a bit more PG/PG-13 when it comes to my writing. I may have characters curse (especially my X-Men OC Trish), some descriptive violence, or some “smutty” love scenes, but these will all not be my norm.
*Writing Schedule*
This is what my intended updating schedule looks like.
October: Finishing up a old fan-script for “Hey, Arnold! The Jungle Movie” before the real one airs in November (thanks to all who helped convince Nickelodeon to produce the actual one). This will most likely result in no updates here. November: It's National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). I'll be working on a fan-novelization of the Cirque de Soliel show Varekai. I don't know if it will be polished enough to share by the end of November, though. December: Cleaning up the battle between Devon and Trish for my X-Men fanfiction. I've already pushed this back too many times. I'm determined to have this done by the close of 2017. January: Getting back on track with finishing up the first draft of the "Peeping Tomcat" full story. February: Polishing "Peeping Tomcat", and, if there's time and I haven't done so yet, polishing up the Varekai story *Appreciation Circle*
In the past, I posted a list of people who really stood behind me, encouraged me, and took the time to help me grow via reviews. However, this list has grown too long for me to keep adding to it. Please know that I love you all, and I thank you all for your support. You are the reason I keep writing, and the reason I keep posting here.
