I'm completely obsessed with SUPERNATURAL. Just putting that out there :)

MY WRITING:

This site is my first experience with writing and I am loving it! I started out by writing a smutty one-shot (On the Way to Phoenix) that was entirely for fun and somehow got the nerve to post it, figuring I would get nothing but a couple of reviews calling me a perv. Instead, and this is a testament to how friendly and wonderful the people on this site are, I received suggestions to make a full story out of it and was given a lot of advice and encouragement in doing so. The result was a 150k multi-chap (Two Guys, a Girl, and a Ticket to Hell) and a new favorite pastime :-)

What to expect in my multi-chapter fics:

I am a mostly canon-writer, or at least canon up to where I butt in. That is, the overall characters and situations remain as they are in the show. I try really hard to keep the canon facts and the details straight and even harder to keep the canon characters in character (IC). I often include OC's, but my fics are mostly about Sam and Dean, first and foremost (or Cas, in the case of Band of Misfits). I often throw some romance in there but it is always built in around a real hunt or Apocalyptic mayhem and no romantic relationship will ever diminish or smother the relationship between the brothers. I also try to keep my fics interesting and original by never following along with exact scenes from the show's canon episodes - I assume the reader has seen them.

Although my penname is deanstheman and I am a Dean girl, I LOVE Sam and Cas too and they are usually featured just as prominently (sometimes even more so) in my multi-chap stories.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO MY STORY RATINGS. 'M' IS FOR MATURE SO IF IT IS RATED M, THEN IT MEANS IT IS FOR MATURE AUDIENCES.

Some of my writing is very tame but other bits are ... errrr ... not so tame :D I don't want anyone being caught unaware reading something they are uncomfortable with so I will always give warnings at the beginning of a story and try to rate accordingly. In my M-rated multi-chapter fics, there will be occasional naughty scenes but there will always be a real story around them. The M-rated one-shots are just PWP.

And please, don't be scared off by the naughtiness in the opening scene (a colossal lemon) of Two Guys, a Girl and a Ticket to Hell - it is a very real SPN story once you get past the first scene, I promise. Feel free to just skip to chapter 3 and start there.

MY READING:

I LOVE following a few really great stories at a time and only wish there were more hours in every day so I could read more fic. It really sucks but work and RL get in the way, lol. I read many different styles and genres, including complete AU and crack and all sorts of genres that I would never write in myself. I don't see Wincest or Destiel in canon and I don't write them, but I certainly don't have anything against them. They are a very popular and entertaining part of the SPN fandom and I say if that's your thing, have at it! :)

There's really no type of SPN fic I won't read provided it's well done and keep me entertained. I enjoy the angst, the comedy, the action, the romance, and whatever else we can throw at these boys. I have found some truly amazing SPN stories on this site. Some beautifully and masterfully written and still others that I loved just as much despite a few technical flaws or less polished writing skills. Entertainment comes in many forms and an imperfect story on this site with an intriguing plot or entertaining characters can draw me in as quickly and as thoroughly as the works of many best-selling authors out there.

I always review because I now know first-hand how much each and every review means to the author. Well, okay... sometimes I read on my phone and forget to go back later, but I do try my best. I'm a firm believer that anyone who writes their own fics and gets enjoyment out of receiving reviews should pay it forward and review any stories they read. Reviews don't have to be all good by any means, but if you're critiquing, I think you should try to be polite and helpful about it. Remember, this is not a professional writer's site. This is family skate hour at the local rink and everybody gets to play on the ice, not just Michelle Kwan and Sydney Crosby.

I love chatting to fellow authors and fellow fans - there are so many awesome people on this site and this is the one place where I can express my complete obsession with Supernatural and not be judged for it! In fact - I think there may just be a few people out there who have it worse than me, haha!

Miscellaneous other stuff:

Since I tend to forget to add that disclaimer in my stories (even though this is fanfiction and if I'm posting here I think it's obvious I am just a fan, duh), I will just say here that for all the stories posted on this account, I don't own anything in relation to the source material. Any characters, plots, or lines you recognize from the show are just borrowed for my harmless entertainment. The only things that are mine are my obsession and my imagination.
