Author has written 11 stories for Teen Titans, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Very well, I suppose I should put something in here. OK, I am not a kid, tween, teenager, college student, etc. As you may already guess from my intros, I've been around a while. Even so, I very much enjoy cartoons and comics. I have been collecting comics for over 40 years (hint to age) and Garfield Logan has always been one of my favorite characters. When they made Teen Titans into a show, I was ecstatic and when it was cancelled, heartbroken. Little over a year ago I chanced upon fanfiction and focused, of course, on the Titans. After reading dozens of stories, some good, some not as good (no such thing as a "bad" story, only one that needs a little more editing), I thought I'd scrape off the rust. It's been over 25 years since I was writing stories and I thought I'd give it a try. I have several ideas and, as is usually the case, once I'm in the middle of a story, I get an idea for another. NEW: I'm having some SERIOUS writer's block. While I hope (hope, hope) to be able to get back to 'Road', I must confess that since the end of Ganguro, my muse has abandoned me. Why? Gee, maybe it's because I'm working 50+ hours a week, my son is in major emotional difficulties and I'm going through the 'normal' financial problems that most middle-America is experiencing right now. And I'm completely exhausted. OK, enough complaining. Back to our regularly scheduled Author's profile. Newer: First time I've been on FF for several weeks. My deepest apologies. Looks like 'Road' is on quasi-permanent hiatus. Just don't have the muse/interest/energy to finish at the moment. Too many personal issues (don't ask, just imagine a 50+ year old with work and family issues). Anyway, this has nothing to do with ANYONE or a lack of interest by you, my friends. Has to do with complete exhaustion and a bone-deep weariness that precludes writing anything more than a couple of sentences. Flying Spigetti Monster willing, I'll pick up the thread again in the future and finish "Road". Believe it or not, I've actually thought of a sequel to 'Road'. Just can't seem to summon the energy to finish 'Road'. Until then, my friends, stay safe and sleep well. First off, I'm a husband, father and grandfather. I have commitments. Second, since I am a husband, that means I have a wife. That means my time is not my own. Since I adore my wife even more than BB adores Raven, if she get tired of me spending an hour or so a night writing, it's over (or at least on hiatus.) Third, since I am a husband, father and grandfather, it behooves me to have full time employment. I do. Writing occurs either early in the morning or late at night. Therefore, given all of these conditions and situations, I will continue to write. While I enjoy the feedback (everyone does), I have NO intention of stopping a story in the middle due to lack of feedback, personally, if you need that much reinforcement to write, don't bother. The creative muse comes from within and is not (and will never BE) dependent on feedback. Every story will be concluded unless I completely dry up (I'll let you know). I'm current working, slowly, on my next individual project. The title is 'Road to Nairobi' and if ANYONE here remembers the Bob Hope & Bing Crosby road movies, there's your clue. Updates will be sporadic (look it up, all knowledge is good) unlike my previous project. Oh, by the way, I've been involved in a collaberative effort by the name of "Ganguro". While I have been privileged to write several of the chapters so far, the greater privilege has been to write with four other writers whose work I greatly admire. TheForceIsStrongWithThisOne, Novus Ordo Seclorum, Titansfan45 and Sir Alwick have all written absolutely marvelous tales, far better than my meager works. I would highlly recomment your exploring their collective works. Now that the ground rules are set, I'm switching from "cool" grandfather to annoying parent. If you want to correspond and "talk", no problem. Remember, I'm a LOT older. My interests are probably far different than yours if you are still in school. Second, I'm not trolling, the concept is sick and I'm NOT interested. I think we'll leave it there. So, my litertary influences? Name them, I've read a GREAT deal over my life. History, science, science fiction, politics, plays, poetry, keep going. Movies, hey, I love the movies. Music, ok, you got me there. I'm partially deaf and am not a big music person. One of those, I know what I like, but it's not particularly exciting and tends to be more "old" stuff (ie, 60s through 80s, some older, some less). Given that I based my previous story on Nat "King" Cole's Too Young, that should give you an idea. Read, enjoy, review. The whole point of fanfiction is to have fun. Until later. |
