um, I have no idea what to say here... except maybe that I'm an average teenager that has spent way to much time reading and making up stories, which is why I write. However, writing these days consists of the penning of papers if anything at all. Most of what I write is some what original fiction (which if anyone would like to read, please e-mail or IM me) which is sitting in a sundry of notebooks and drawers of my desk until I actually get around to a) editing and b) sending them out to various literary magazines.

My influences are J.R.R. Tolkien, Charles de Lint, Neil Gaiman, Patricia McKillip, Emma Bull, Geoffrey Hill, David Jones, Aaron Fogel, Kelly Link, James Joyce, and T.S. Eliot. There are probably more, but these are the ones that I am consciencly trying to imitate.

Currently when I write fanfiction I tend towards two areas. Either _Lord of the Rings_ or else Terri Windling's _Borderland_ series. I have a set of stories that are currently in the process of being written using an early 20th century version of Middle Earth, and seeing what themes I get out of them. As well as how characters get updated (eg: Eowyn as a women's studies major with a tendancy towards a revisionist slant of history)

They are (tentativly titled)

Election Night: A group of students at Albion College (which is a part of Tirith University) sneak into the school's collection's basement and discover artifacts that could mean the myths they have grown up on are all real. At the same time,a the country is reveling in Election Day, and holding its breath to see if its new leader will be the Indi canidate from the West, or the Unionist canidate from the south.

Into the Mouth of Hell Rode the Six Hundred: set later than the first one. Due to expansionist politics, the West is colonizing the lands across the Western Sea, but the war is turning out to be a futile attempt for one company. When Sidonie recieves notice that her fiancé's company has been ambushed with no survivors, it is all she can do to keep herself together. And then Capt. Faramir's letter arrive, and the voices of the dead claim their last hours.
