![]() Author has written 66 stories for Stargate: SG-1, Last Ship, and Sherlock. A profile? You want a profile? There's not much to say. I am a happily married mom of 6, aged 17 down to 3 years old. I live in the outskirts of Phoenix, AZ, but I grew up in Hawaii. I'm a stay at home mom and I own a small machine quilting business (Akamai Quilts--Akamai means 'clever' in Hawaiian.) My husband was the first SG-1 addict, and I got into it one day while sitting with him on the couch binding a quilt. He was watching a little episode called, "Window of Opportunity". I was instantly hooked. I borrowed the first seasons from one of the guys at my husband's job, then ended up going to Costco one day and buying every season available. I watched the first five seasons in just a few weeks. My husband and I now quote lines to each other (Our favorite? O'Neill to airman--"It's a "blast door'." But you gotta do it with the finger quotes.). Friends of ours who don't "get it" think we're a little weird. This writing thing has been so much fun--I was an English Lit major in college (you can't tell, right?) and thoroughly enjoyed my creative writing classes, but had kind of forgotten that in the maelstrom that is motherhood and Real Life. So this has been a return to a real first love. And what has made it fun is sharing it with people who have enjoyed it. So, just a gentle reminder, reviews are fun and appreciated and spur on more stories. As a side note to all of you who read and review, please know that I appreciate each and every one. I try to respond to each review--although every once in a while, one will slip past me--so if you DON'T want a response, just let me know, and I will cease and desist. I'm just trying to let you know that your efforts are truly met with gratitude, and on these anonymous forums, it's hard to get that point across sometimes. :) Having said that, I've missed some in the past several months--and I apologize for that. But the baby is in preschool now, and life has gotten just that much easier. Time for Mom to write! So I quilt on client projects much of the day. I clean and cook, and I do laundry, and put on band-aids. I take the dogs out and help with homework, I work out (have I mentioned I lost 125 pounds since #6 was born?). I'm teaching a couple of kids to drive. But sometimes, when the light is just right and the world is a bit slow, I gaze across the horizon and see a Ha'Tak vessel looming large. Then I pull on my SGC BDUs, grab my Zat and P-90 and go out to take on the Goa'uld. -O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O Apparently, I've started a series. . . Glinda Baldrich made her appearance in my Stargate universe and has just kept coming back. Because I'm not compiling these as a single story, I'll list them here in order of how they should be read. Two Sheets (She's actually not in this story, but she is in the sequel/second chapter. . .but it's the de facto start of her arc for various reasons.) Secretarial Pool The Little Legume of Hope Taken Basket Cases Reel Trouble (She's not in this one, either, but it fits in the arc, anyway. . .) One Blanket Meeting the Bean The Velocity of Strained Carrots Next up for Glinda? A Honeymoon! But you know it's not going to be all fluffy and sweet, right? She and Bean are going to have a guest, and a mission, and it's going to be an adventure. Stay tuned! |
