AND SHE'S BACK! (13th June 2012):

End of exams means only one thing: a whole, glorious, glistening twelve week long summer holiday! I've been itching to write these past couple of months, so keep your eyes peeled for updates. Huge thanks to everyone who's been reading, subscribing, reviewing and waiting patiently; I hope to have something for you soon.

A/N (from Chapter 20/ Interlude)

I should probably explain my thinking for this one. Chapter 20 is a turning point in the plot, in many respects, and the story needed something to show this; a volta, if you like. Plus, the little what-if/what might be scenes were fun to play with. To be honest, I’m not completely sure it’ll fly but hey, thanks to the nature of the internet, at least I can embarrass myself anonymously!

A thousand, heartfelt thank-yous to:

Lady Nightlord, Atropa Haven, barus, 88dragon06, Hailey-Stone, Misplaced Levity, Sexyknickers, Triskaidekaphoric, CrazyCousinEiko, Octopus123, SensiblyScrewy, Alycee Lanet, chaosrachel, SanctuaryLover, Allie Chick, Anea the Morwinyon, DoubleDaggered, Sarah, 57pop, Space Odyssey, zebra-scarf, No Small Dream, GeekaZoid420, kitsmits, jyma9, maintarget, LexieBird, SummerW, AllyStar99, Evax40, Jfreak, Forever Day, Le26199, Olivia von Dread, Starkid-Hope, TheGirlWhoImagined, sax97, Walker, LadyGrimR, aren, Don't Fade Away and Hapi Graveltoes.

Thank you to all my readers for bearing with me while I got my act in gear. I’m the worst. ;)

“There is something in us that is wiser than our head...” – Arthur Schopenhauer

Perhaps it’s to do with growing up, but I’m slowly beginning to trust in that.

Fiction, in any form, can be rewarding. Actually, I’d liken it to a friendship; a very strong one. Sometimes it’s great – all the pieces click together and everything flows smoothly; other times you wonder truthfully why you bothered. You might agree with this, you might not. Everybody has a different approach to writing. That’s why I read, I think; to see the world from another perspective.

I’m always trying to improve when it comes to my technique, so any constructive criticisms are welcome and openly accepted. A second pair of eyes covers more ground, and doubtless you’ll see things that I missed or scenes that don’t really work.

In the past, I’ve been a Beta reader for the-salt-monster and her wonderful Sherlock fanfic The Man with Two Names. Please, check it out if you have a spare moment.

Weighing His Words (BBC Sherlock) This idea stemmed from the desire to pit Sherlock against something that his brilliant mind wouldn't like or accept one little bit. Well, I say pit. What I actually did was throw Hannah in at the deep end, watching hysterically as she tries to flounder her way out. I'm joking...mostly. I write many paragraphs attempting to make a story about telepathy as realistic as it can be. It’s not the central element to the story – or at least that’s not the focus when I’m writing. I almost use it as a medium to convey (or try to convey, at least) my perceptions of the characters.

There's quite a bit of original material floating around in there; I'd feel cheap simply regurgitating the script for you. The plot begins post "The Blind Banker" in the weeks after the case and flows to follow "The Great Game." It's a different perspective on Sherlock's mind but at the same time I try not to neglect the likes of John and Mycroft. How could I possibly do that to our favourite characters, the lovable ex-soldier and the mega-creepy politician?

Check it out if you're interested. If you've got any questions or there's something you'd like to bring up, zap me a PM. I'd be tickled pink to hear from you!

The fantastic ChristyHolmes wrote me a spectacular one-shot featuring Hannah and Sherlock. It's called Intercourse on the Couch and can be found on her profile, so check it out!

The equally amazing CrazyCousinEiko penned her own one-shot Letting Go – starring Sherlock and Hannah, as well as her own feisty OC Kameko. Again, please have a look – you won’t regret it!

Recently, I’ve been made to realise that to smile when you’re barely holding it together, either in private or inside, can be one of the hardest things to consistently manage. The sheer courage and strength of those who smile and laugh as they persevere through incredibly tough situations is phenomenal. I haven’t even the skill or eloquence to describe it precisely enough. But I don’t know how you do it, I really don’t.

Thank you for smiling.

Now here’s one of mine - :)
