A secret lingers between them that the hostage cannot figure out. Batman doubts his importance. Crane reflects on his past meeting with his doctor. Somehow their secrets are connected though Gotham crumbles.

I wrote this poem four years ago. It won a contest and was displayed next to a piece of art at a museum that I based it off of. The painting was by Sebastiano Ricci. Please note that I am not religious and do not mean to offend! I thought the story of Christ and the Woman of Samaria was interesting, and therefore, this little poem sprang into my mind. :3 Thank you.
