![]() Author has written 18 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender, Star Trek: 2009, Merlin, and Teen Titans. Thanks for stopping by my profile. You're probably here because you probably read one of my stories and wanted to know more. I am honored that you read my work, whether you loved it or hated it. I think the main thing I want to share is - why I write fanfiction. Honestly I've wanted to be a writer since I was a child, but I lacked the discipline to complete a work. I started and stopped so many stories, eventually I gave up on the dream and made it a hobby. I wrote things for myself, half chapters, half pages, poems, etc. and I was satisfied. I started reading fanfiction several years later when I first found out what it was. I read and read for a couple of years about Xena Warrior Princess. The issue is that there were plots and stories that I wanted to read, but no one was writing them. So I decided to add my voice and I wrote a story that I wanted to read. My first fanfic took me three months to write (and it was only five pages). But the point is that it was the first thing I had ever completed. I still consider writing a wonderful hobby. And I'm very proud that I am able to complete many of the stories I have in my head. For every five ideas I have one completed and posted fanfic, one in pieces and three that never made it out of my head at all. However, writing is getting easier. I wrote "Injustice" in one day and then I wrote "Revelations" the following day. But I was on vacation that week, so I could sit at the computer for hours at a time and 'get it out'. They each took nearly a month to edit, but they are posted and were well received. While the reviews mean a lot, in the end I still write for myself, and I write stories that I personally want to read. I shared all that because I know there are others out there with stories in their heads. So this is my encouragement to take the plunge and add your voice as well. It may not be well received, and it may not even be good, but you have to start somewhere. And if you enjoy reading the story - then that's enough! For the Merlin Fans: This show rocks! I almost want to move to England just so I can see it earlier. It doesn't air in the States until months later, and I have to say I'm very grateful to the people who load the episodes on Youtube. This is what allowed me to write my first Merlin fic. You see, the episodes that it's based upon had not aired in the U.S. when published. I love everything about Merlin, but especially the Arthur/Gwen romance. The actors are amazing. Lastly, as a yankee writing fic for a British show, I have tried to stay true to the British english, but I know I've failed miserably. So if there are any parts that are off, please forgive me. For the Star Trek Fans: I've been a fan of the show since I was a child. I'm generally disappointed with the movies so I never bothered to go see the new one. A friend of mine insisted I borrow his DVD, despite my protests that I would hate it. It sat on the shelf for a week and I finally decided to pop it in the DVD player so I could tell him I watched it. I was hooked from the first 5 minutes and watched it every day (sometimes twice a day) thereafter; that is until I had to give the DVD back. I finally broke down and bought my own copy. This movie rocks and reinvents Star Trek in a way I didn't think was possible. I especially love the Spock/Nyota pairing. It was daring, it was bold, it was unexpected, and it was perfection. I've got a few ideas in my head and I plan to put fingers to keyboard many more times before I'm done. For the Avatar, the Last Air Bender Fans: I've loved Avatar the Last Airbender from the very first episode. However now that book 3 is finished... well you know the rest. I loved reading all the wonderful stories out there and decided to finally add my own. Now that I have a few stories up, you'll notice that one recurring theme. They all revolve around the most awesome character on the Avatar -- Prince Zuko! The stories have different themes, different feels, but Zuko is the unifying thread. My second favorite is Katara and despite what I've posted already 95 percent of my stories are Zutara. Please review my work, I'd love to hear from you. Enjoy! |
