ABOUT ME:

I've been a part of the FanFiction community since I was a young teenager. I had just finished reading the His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman and wanted so much to live in that world for a little longer. So I began to write my version of what might have happened after the events of the last book, and thus my fanfic "Worlds" was born. Believe it or not, I even sent the first few chapters - and a letter expressing my deep appreciation for the series - to Mr. Pullman, who was kind enough to write back to me. He even included some nice comments and suggested edits for my chapters (which I'm sure were quite bad, though he refrained from saying so). At the time, I felt like he had given me his blessing to continue writing and I leapt to it with a fervor.

I kept it up for several years, going through a few complete re-writes as my writing style matured, along with my understanding of the books' themes and characters. I wrote several short stories for other fandoms, as well as writing some original content on FictionPress. I discovered and explored my love of creative writing on these platforms, and I don't exaggerate when I say that these two writing communities were integral to surviving my adolescence. As I got older, went to college, and later grad school, I stopped updating my own stories - though I would always come back to the site after I'd finished a particularly good book or series to see what other creative minds out there were thinking about them.

All this to say, the FanFiction and FictionPress communities have been a part of my life for quite a while now, and I hope they continue to be as vibrant and supportive as ever!
