Author has written 8 stories for Love Hina. 25 Apr 2016: hmmm, maybe I should update my profile again . . . . . . nothing much has changed over the last 2 years :) . Let's see, where to begin . . . . Well, I wasn't much into any Japanese anime except for Star Blazers (which pale in comparison to the original unedited-for-American-viewers episodes), Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman), Inu Yasha, Big O, and Full Metal Alchemist until about mid 2008. Bugsy (http://www.fanfiction.ws/u/352469/Bugsy) got me hooked on Love Hina, and my journey to the otaku side began. Me and Bugsy go way back, even before he started writing his stories, so I got a lot of pointers from him. Kinda explains why my style is similar to his. I now have over 770 Manga series, and nearly 5500 episodes and movies from over 270 anime ranging from Abenobashi Magical Shopping District to Zero no Tsukaima. I have, however, limited myself to about 60 (so far) figures and statues from Love Hina, Ah! My Goddess, and Maison Ikkoku, although I do admit to splurging and getting one Hand Maid May figurine (original size, not life-size!). I even made a pose-able Keitaro Urashima figure that matches the Love Hina pose-able Kayodai (?) figures. If anyone wants to try, just get an extra Mutsumi face, Shinobu's hair (the back, not front), modeler's clay, black paint, (airbrush optional), some wire for glasses, and a 6-inch Billy Batson figure (from Shazam). A little work, and voila! One scale to size Keitaro, ready to be punched by the hot-springs-towel-covered Naru figurine! Size is just right. Taller than Naru, shorter than Motoko. Yes, sadly my journey to the otaku side is now complete! I have about a dozen books on how to draw manga, and have read them all . . . . . not that I can draw more than stick-figures. I limit myself to only two or three favorite authors, and a handful of favorite stories. Not because I don't like others, it's just I've seen how cluttered other members sites are with their lists, lol. I'm not impressed with basher fanfics, nor the opinions of their authors. They tend to be too close-minded to provide good critiques. You know who you are :) I never really developed a taste for any Dragonball, Pokemon isn't my cup of tea, and I've still no clue what Evangelion is. For the most part, I'm not into mecha, although there are two or three exceptions. Cross-over fanfics don't interest me much (except if it's a Love Hina/Excel Saga, they're generally funny enough to overlook the inconsistencies.), but I will read them occasionally, |
