My real name is Jeannie; I live on the outskirts of Salt Lake City in a small mining town called Magna.

I started using the 'handle' Devka over ten years ago when everyone who had access to the internet and chatted in chat rooms were paranoid about giving out any kind of real information about themselves in fear of being stalked or murdered.

I took the name from a book of dog names for Samoyed's, which we once raised. In Russian it means, 'country girl'.

I recently discovered the works of Janet Evanovich and read the entire Plum series back to back within just a few weeks. I nearly went into a state of depression when I learned I'd have to wait until next year for any new releases. A friend told me about this site and I fell deeper and harder into my newest addiction.

I was inspired by the writings of XJerseyGirl in 'As the Worm Turns' ( http://www.fanfiction.ws/s/2972423/1/As_The_Worm_Turns ) and 'The Name of the Game'. ( http://www.fanfiction.ws/s/3391716/1/The_Name_Of_The_Game ) Through her, I met Akasha617 who graciously became my editor. I was, and still am, mesmerized by her talent in the many stories she has penned including, 'Living on a Prayer' ( http://www.fanfiction.ws/s/3265130/1/Living_on_a_Prayer ) and 'Keep the Faith' ( http://www.fanfiction.ws/s/3563807/1/Keep_The_Faith ). If you haven't read any of these stories, do so. Guaranteed, you'll go on a roller coaster ride of emotions that will send you over the edge.

These two ladies inspired me and encouraged me to write my first fanfic, Hindsight. I hope you get a chance to read it, please review it and leave me your comments, ideas and suggestions. You wouldn't believe how those few precious words in a review, will inspire an author to continue with the story they're in the process of writing.
