Author has written 46 stories for Supernatural. My life is in chaos, but I am happy. In the end that's all that matters right? A few things about me (for anyone who bothers to read these things): Name: Deana, but that’s all I’m saying. Age: Older than Sam but younger than Dean. Still feel like a teenager though. I'm weird that way I suppose. Marital Status: I’m as single as they come. Location: Canada Likes: The theatre, photography, and writing, I love to travel. I haven’t been anywhere exciting, except maybe Hawaii. I also like: Music, books, church, the smell of rain, lilacs, jasmine, tea and scotch tape, Tae Kwon Do, a good sense of humour, homemade soup, thunderstorms, the ocean, freshly fallen snow, hoar frost on trees, cherry blossoms, random acts of kindness, long walks, the night sky, honesty, a good nights sleep, late spring and early fall, mashed potatoes, a good guitar riff, laughter, kids, compassion, and silliness. Dislikes: Bullies, pollution, discrimination, reality shows, abuse, being sick, cell phones, crowds, early spring when the roads are muddy and slushy, the sound of my alarm in the morning, missing the bus, politics, celebrity gossip, pop up ads, spam, offensive jokes, chocolate, coffee, football, hot weather, skin care commercials, personal injury lawyer commercials, distracting ads that appear on the bottom of the screen when I’m watching TV (CW is terrible for that!) radio DJs, negativity, insomnia, the smell of coffee, peanut butter and fish, late night talk shows, working late. Favourites… To name a few: Movies: “Millions”, “The Princess Bride”, “The Ring”, “The Incredibles”, “Amelie”, “Ferris Beuller’s Day Off”, “Little Miss Sunshine”, “Pleasantville”, "Slumdog Millionaire", "Zombieland" TV Shows: Current shows: “Supernatural” (obviously), "Big Bang Theory", "Community" Cancelled too soon: “Dead Like Me”, “Carnivale”, “Freaks and Geeks” “Roswell”, “Dark Angel”. Worth Mentioning: “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, “X-Files” Classics: “Get Smart”, “Cheers”, “Taxi”, “Rhoda”, “Bewitched” (I watched a lot of Nick at Nite growing up) Books: “Memoirs of a Geisha”, “Practical Demonkeeping”, “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West”, “Freak the Mighty”, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”, “The Neverending Story”, “The Princess Bride”, “Frankenstein”, “To Kill a Mockingbird”, “Fight Club”, “The Stand”, “The Shining”, "The Help" Musicals: “Wicked”, “The Producers”, “Oliver!”, “The Lion King”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Spamalot”, “The Music Man”, “Les Miserables”, “Phantom of the Opera”, “Hairspray”, “Urinetown”. Music: I like to listen to all kinds of music, depending on my mood, except hip-hop, rap, dance and pop, though there are exceptions. I can’t say I have any favourite groups or artists since most of my CD’s are collections because I love variety and I have way to many favourite songs to list. On "Supernatural" and reading and writing Fan fiction When reading my stories there's a few things you can come to expect. While I love humor, I love to laugh and my friends for some reason say I'm quite witty, when it comes to writing, my strengths lie in angst so most of my stories involve a lot of drama and a lot of the hurt/comfort - especially in my one shots. I also have an unhealthy obsession with inflicting pain on the poor Winchesters, especially Dean. I don't know why that is, I don't know what it is about a bloodied and/or sick Dean, and an angst-ridden and/or protective Sam that gets my heart a flutter but since I know I'm not alone in this, if anyone out there would like to enlighten me on the phenomenon, that would be great. I will never read or write Wincest, and while I have no problem with slash, I will not write it if it involves Sam or Dean. I try to stay true to all the canon characters, even when I write AU. So if you've come here looking for something like that, you've come to the wrong place. I like wee!chester stories and I have a couple in the works, and I also enjoy tags/missing scenes and while I personally haven't posted one yet, I love a well plotted casefic. I also love original characters, and while I don't seek them out, I don't mind them, unless they fall under the Mary Sue category and/or overshadow Sam and Dean to take on a staring role to put Sam and Dean on the sidelines. Original characters are meant to support canon characters in my opinion, not the other way around, doesn't mean they can't have a major role just not the main focus. I haven't written anything with a major original character yet, but I might some day. Rest assured that if I do, whatever I may write would still at the end of the day belong to canon characters. I confess I am a slow updater. I don't have a lot of time to write to begin with and while I might have an entire epic mapped out in my head and I may be a fast typer, it takes me a while to get it all down. I have this weird habit of wanting to get the wording just right before I continue as opposed to just letting go and getting a chapter written and fixing it up later, and most chapters I post have several drafts that I'd scrap and rewrite and rewrite and rewrite and the dumb thing is I usually end up liking the first or second version of a chapter best. A few of my one shots exist solely for the purpose of trying to get out of that habit so when I get writers block on something I'll challenge myself to write an impromptu fic, if I like the result I post it. The Endiku and Onyx Moonbeam drabble challenges have also been really beneficial at helping me get over my wordiness and keeping the muse happy. I must respect the muse. Thank you for reading my profile. I hope you will read and enjoy my stories. Also, check out my favorites! |
