Bagoosa chapter 1 . 4/4/2013 Apparently, Castiel is considered the angel of Thursdays, too. I don't know where exactly people got that information, but they did. "Castiel" basically means pure and of God, as far as I can tell. I liked that Mary thought Dean was an angel and named him after himself. I do wish she had made the Van Halen connection, though. |

SingleMinded chapter 1 . 5/18/2009 Just found this. After In the Beginning, I've always wonder if Mary ever find out who Dean was. Thanks for the story. |
Pinkchick chapter 1 . 5/6/2009 This was such a touching story. The way it was played out slowly and Mary drawing on the fact that she thought Dean had been her guardian angel was really believable. :) I also like the fact that you added Bobby in there, and that he was called Robert back in the day... nice touch. Especially loved the part about the eyes and how looking into Dean's eyes was like Mary looking at herself in the mirror. Very sad and touching. Wonderful story! Thank you for sharing! |
EvilspyAchacia chapter 1 . 11/4/2008 Awsome, So I read your next story on live Journal, my alias there is Kira_Bouviea, and I said I would go back and read this, well lo and behold I found your story on FFN, This is very well written I do hope you continue writing in this fandom. |
Piper Julian chapter 1 . 11/3/2008 Amazing! I love how Mary thought Dean was an angel, it was quite moving acutally! And she had no idea that her angel was her son :) |
charmedhunter chapter 1 . 10/30/2008 Aww! That was so nice! I had this theory after watching the episode; and you explained it perfectly. Good Job! |
Suadela chapter 1 . 10/29/2008 I loved it. I've read another story where Mary thinks Dean is an angel, but that one was... like... a third of the length this one is, which kinda made me sad. I'm so glad I actually got to use the scroll bar on this one! And I know it's not going to happen (this has oneshot written all over it) but if you ever want to continue this story with Mary and John raising Dean until he's four... I'd be happy :D But it's also really good as a oneshot. Keep writing! -Suadela |
HappyChaos3D chapter 1 . 10/29/2008 That was so incredibly awesome. Very well written and just a fabulous concept that makes perfect sense. Dean was named after himself, but to Mary he was named for her guardian angel and to John he was named after Mary's mother, I just think that's neat. I also thought it was neat how you pulled Bobby into this story and how their paths crossed before Bobby became a hunter. I loved that even though Bobby wasn't a hunter yet, he was still the guy the Winchesters went to for research, and wisdom and knowledge. I smile every time I see Bobby, and it was just awesome to see he was there for the Winchesters since before Dean was even born. It was nice to see the impact Dean's visit to the past made on Mary, and how the only conclusion she could come up with to explain his presence was that he was an angel. I loved the way you describe how looking into his eyes was like looking into a mirror and then repeating that in the end after Dean is born and to me, that makes it wonderfully ambiguous. Does Mary still suspect Dean Van Halen is an angel, or does she suspect that Dean Van Halen and Dean Winchester are one and the same? It's not clear, and I like that. It could go both ways. I prefer to think that she still believes the Dean she met in 1973 was an angel, it gives a whole new meaning to her nightly assurances to little Dean that angels were watching over him. Especially now that we know she was more right than she could imagine with the appearance of Castiel, even though the angel Mary was probably thinking of was in fact, Dean himself. There's just so much to like about this story. I thought the episode "In the Beginning" was so tragic and sad, especially since we know the outcome, we know that Mary's children would never have the normal life she wanted for them, we know she was still destined to die, and that Sam would still be tainted with demon blood and that John and Dean would be fated to Hell (temporarily but still...). But this fic was filled with such hope, it was so quietly reassuring. I just love it. |
Silwyna chapter 1 . 10/29/2008 Wonderful! Can I tell you again how much I love this story? Excellent job :) |
