Tsurumi Rumi didn't want more out of her life, and yet, peace and highschool could never coexist. Just ask her homeroom teacher, Japanese literature teacher, and guidance counsellor, all of whom happened to be a certain dead fish-eyed cynic from her youth. He'd probably say SNAFU.

Graduation marks the end of youth and the end of the Service Club. The high school romantic comedy never plays out. Years pass, and a neurotic Hachiman serves as a detective in Tokyo amidst rising crime rates. He finds himself embroiled in a lawsuit after a confrontation with a felon turns deadly. If things weren't chaotic enough, his assigned lawyer was… Yukinoshita?

Highschool exams are fast approaching, and Nishikata has more than his fair share of issues to deal with. He hasn't chosen a school, he needs to bring his grades up, and he needs to find a way to tell the girl he cares about how he feels. Is there a way he can solve all of these problems at once? Or will he be swallowed by the mountain of stress that awaits him?

As their high school years come to a close and the final national examination approaching, Hachiman feels the pressure of studying ever increasing. At his limit, he stops studying for a moment, wondering if he could truly go to Tokyo University with Yukino. However, Yukino, ever the attentive girlfriend, gives him something to motivate him...

It hasn't been long since the summer festival yet everything appears to be the same as they were between Nishikata and Takagi. Looks however, can be somewhat deceiving. Maybe a little not so friendly competition between him and some friends can help him realize what his confusing feelings actually mean.
