Author has written 7 stories for Klonoa, +Anima, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, and Hunter X Hunter. I'm a millennial novelist/amateur game designer. I love heavy music, animals, anime, tech, and the speculative genres. I am a published author and generally write original fiction for practical reasons nowadays (under pen-name Rowan Rook), but still enjoy the sheer fun of reading and writing fanfiction (under alias TearsOfNightfall). I hope you enjoy my stories! My author website (Rowan Rook) My game studio website (DawnSeeker Studio) My writing blog (Beware the Rook)I also have a published novel, Night Plague, and free original fiction serial novel, Living Ageless, available now! MY FANFICS A THIN, RED LINE Summary: Three years after parting ways with Gon, Killua's life hasn't gone the way he wanted it to. Alluka is gravely ill following Nanika's unexplained disappearance, his supposed best friend hasn't spoken to him in months, and one incident - one mistake - ruined his reputation as a Hunter. When he finally recieves a text from Gon, asking to meet up with him, he is far more excited than he would like to admit. At least...until he arrives to find the unthinkable. Gon is dead. Murdered. And both the police and the Association blame the ex-assassin for his best friend's death. Chasing Gon's ghost in search of answers and justice, he finds himself treading dangerously close to not only conspiracy, but to the thin, red line between the person he wants to be and his old, violent ways. Who killed Gon? Why frame him for it? What happened to Nanika? Nothing is quite what it seems when justice is written in blood. Fandom: Hunter x Hunter -- Pairings: None -- Status: Active Rating Info: "T" for violence, including death, mild suggestive themes, brief language, and some disturbing descriptions Notes: My only currently active fic, and my first in quite a while. We'll see how it goes. CROSSED HEARTS Summary: It's been eight years since Cooro, Senri, Nana, and Husky said their last goodbyes and parted ways, and in those eight years, Nana has made a comfortable living working for a local Astarian merchant. Having always wondered what happened to the friends she left behind, she is initially delighted when she crosses paths with Cooro once again, but with him anxious, quiet, and claiming to no longer be a plus anima, it isn't long before she realizes that this 'Cooro' is drastically different from the childhood friend she remembers...and when she makes the decision to give him shelter for a night, her hard-earned peace is yanked right out from under her. When a mysterious, dangerous girl calling herself a raven plus anima appears on the scene, and when rising tensions between the governments of Astaria and Sailand and plus anima leads them all back together, the whole group of four finds themselves locked in a desperate fight for survival...and caught up in secrets that they wish they never would've known as the truth about what changed Cooro starts to come out. ...And is it even possible for Nana, Senri, and Husky to protect both themselves and him at the same time? Fandom: Plus Anima -- Pairings: CooroXNana -- Status: Complete! Rating Info: "T" for violence, including death, mild suggestive themes, and brief language Notes: Written several years ago (2008-2011). I don't consider the writing on-par with my current works, but this was the first (and still longest) piece of novel-length fiction I ever completed, and I'm still quite fond of it. LET HIM SLEEP Summary: A mother is starting to worry about the way her traumatized, severely handicapped boy is cutting himself off from the world, spending hours and hours asleep. But, he does it with an almost hauntingly contented smile on his face. Does anyone have the heart to wake him? Fandom: Klonoa -- Pairings: KlonoaXLolo -- Status: Complete! Rating Info: "K" for mild trauma and mild suggestive themes Notes: Just a short oneshot written back in 2010, mostly out of nostalgia for the longer Klonoa fics I started several years earlier. My only Klonoa fic that was ever actually finished. OTHER FICS Unfortunately, all other fics not listed above have been discontinued. My first two Klonoa fics (The Dark Sapphire and Shades of Grey) were written when I was around 16-17, and my writing and interests have changed a lot since then. My slightly more recent fics (My Ace Attorney fic, Precious Scars, and my second Plus Anima fic, Ghosts in the Machinery), were largely discontinued due to time constraints and plotting issues. There is a slim chance that they might be resumed at some point, but it's not particularly likely at this time. Apologies to anyone who was following these fics or waiting for updates. MY ORIGINAL NOVELS NIGHT PLAGUE (available on amazon) Humankind will soon be extinct. A mysterious pandemic cut through two-thirds of the population in just four short years, and within another four, it will decimate everything – and everyone – left. The last days are ticking by, relentless and ruthless, and as far as the reclusive Mason Mild is concerned, he wants nothing more than to spend them living a simple existence with his girlfriend and overbearing older brother. When he witnesses a supposedly deceased classmate kill a man with a bite to the neck, everything is jeopardized. Could it be that the virus has some rather unexpected side-effects? With one death behind him, he finds himself torn between a peaceful end and a brutal immortality. Between his hopeless, but comfortable days with his family, and something new…something violent and wild. Have the fang marks above his heel dealt him an early demise or a second birth? Humanity, however, isn't ready to allow everything it’s worked for to slip into cold, dead hands. If he wants this future, he'll have to fight for it. LIVING AGELESS (available on jukepop serials, fictionpress, figment, and wattpad) Arte and Amelia have always been different from everyone else. They share thoughts and dreams. They see the strands of time and fate in ways others don’t. And they might be over 5,000 years old, but they don’t look a day over 21. The thing that bothers them the most? They don't seem to feel the same things others do - not happiness nor grief. They may have seen the birth and death of generations around them, but none of it means much to someone filled with emptiness. Their mundane day jobs give them a place in a constantly changing world, but by night the brother and sister duo run a supernatural investigations agency in search of answers not about the world, but about themselves. Who are they? What are they? When they find their truth, however, the new questions lurking underneath it might be far more frightening than those they started with. Some answers are better left unknown. |
