![]() Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. Juneaua: Hello my loves! It is the unstoppabe pair of Lauren and Juneaua (Lauren: which is pronounced who-ain-ah), aka Jarlaxle Baenre and Isadora Johnson, and now we have become an irresistable team. We figured we edit and write so much of each other's stuff already that we might as well make one account together! Things about us! One of us currently resides in California, the other in Utah. But we will soon both be off to COLLEGE! (woohoo) We are both tall and blonde (actually, only one of us is tall..and one of us is no longer blonde...) We both have dogs, Isis and Zoey, and they are both gigantic. We both write poetry. And stories. And essays. We both just love to write. We both adore Harry Potter, Shakespeare, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Artemis Fowl, DaVinci Code, Stargirl, Broadway musicals, chocolate, Lion in Winter, Peter Pan, ping pong, the Prestige, Newsies, creative writing, theatre...and other things I can't think of right now. Lauren: toads. Happy ones. Juneaua: Oh, yes. And bomber frogs. They're lovely also. Lauren: we both like Eragon. Sort of. It's a love-hate relationship, I think. Juneaua: No. I just hate it now. Lauren: Growing up changes everything. Quotes! "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about dancing in the rain." "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the ground with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you will always long to return." "The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do, and what a man can't do." "We are like blocks of stone, out of which the sculptor carves the forms of men. The blows of his chisel, which hurt so much, are what make us perfect." "People say I love you all the time-- when they say, 'Take an umbrella, it's raining,' or 'Hurry back,' or even 'Watch out, you'll break your neck.' There are hundreds of ways of wording it -- you just have to listen for it, my dear." --The Curious Savage "I will take all the words that ever were and ever weren't and ever could have and couldn't have been, and gather them in mad armfuls, not boquets, and I will smother you in them." --Cyrano de Bergerac "It's not a dress rehearsal: live the life you've always dreamed!" "Of course he has a knife, he always has a knife, we all have knives! It's 1183 and we're barbarians! How clear we make it. Oh, my piglets, we are the origins of war: not history's forces, nor the times, nor justice, nor the lack of it, nor causes, nor religions, nor ideas, nor kinds of government, nor any other thing. We are the killers. We breed wars. We carry it like syphilis inside. Dead bodies rot in field and stream because the living ones are rotten. For the love of God, can't we love one another just a little - that's how peace begins. We have so much to love each other for. We have such possibilities, my children. We could change the world. Philip: I spent two years on every street in Hell! Richard: That's odd: I didn't see you there. --The Lion in Winter There is a world elsewhere... --Coriolanus, Coriolanus (Lauren: Coriolawhat? Juneaua: it's Shakespeare. Seriously. Lauren: I found that out! Yesterday! While I was reading King Lear, actually...) If I'm never tied to anything, I'll never be free...--Pippin, Pippin What do you do when your dreams come true?" --Abuela, In the Heights Enjoy, and please R&R! Lauren: I'll be brief, since Juneaua's already gone and written the longest profile in the history of this site. I am Lauren, a slightly abnormal, bookwormish, sporadic, rather detatched teenager who has nothing better to do with her life than write. Juneaua is also slighty abnormal, bookwormish, and sporadic, though she's smart enough to spread her time out rather more evenly rather than focusing it all on writing; she acts, sings, plays piano, practices ping-pong...(Juneaua: Hey! Ping pong is not a sport to be scoffed at. It's a serious game. I might add that Lauren has twenty times the vocabulary and grammatical knowledge I do (and she also knows how to spell, which I don't...) My Quotes (because I have to have quotes, because that's pretty much part of who I am): "Thus conscience does make cowards of us all, "Fairy-tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten." ~ G. K. Chesterton "Now we are free, and we will see you again... But not yet. Not yet." ~ Juba, Gladiator "Not a whit, we defy augury. There is a special providence in the fall of a sparrow. If it be now, 'tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now; if it be not now, yet it will come - the readiness is all. Since no man, of aught he leaves, knows what is't to leave betimes, let be." ~Hamlet, Hamlet "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings." ~ Cassius, Julius Caesar "There was a dream that was Rome..." ~ Marcus Aurelius, Gladiator "But who prays for Satan? Who in eighteen centuries has prayed for the one sinner who needed it most?" ~ Mark Twain "Don't be a fool, Severus." ~ Remus Lupin "We read that we ought to forgive our enemies, but we do not read that we ought to forgive our friends." ~ Cosimo de' Medici (Juneaua: Your quotes are all inspiring. Mine are just...quotes.) "Our sunsets have been reduced to wavelengths and frequencies. The complexities of the universe have been shredded into mathematical equations. Even our self-worth as human beings has been destroyed." ~ Dan Brown "You mean... you put down your rock and I'll put down my sword and we'll kill each other like civilized people?" ~ Westley, The Princess Bride "All war must be just the killing of strangers against whom you feel no personal animosity; strangers whom, in other circumstances, you would help if you found them in trouble, and who would help you if you needed it." ~ Mark Twain "I do not love the arrow for its swiftness, nor the sword for its sharpness, nor the warrior for his glorly. I only love that which they defend." ~ J.R.R. Tolkien "Would you like me to do it now?" asked Snape, his voice heavy with irony, "Or would you like a few moments to compose an epitaph?" "Is Rome worth one good man's life? We believed it once. Make us believe it again." ~Lucilla, Gladiator "Courage is not a man with a gun in his hand. It's knowing you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what." ~ Atticus Finch, To Kill a Mockingbird "My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife, and I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next." ~Maximus, Gladiator "We have different lives and faces, but our hearts have common places," ~Mother's Younger Brother, Ragtime "To love another person is to see the face of God..." ~Fantine, Valjean, Les Miserables Juneaua: You should put your amazing Great Gatsby quote up here. The one with the transitory word. Lauren: Whatever you say, milady. "Its vanished trees, the trees that had made way for Gatsby's house, had once pandered in whispers to the last and greatest of all human dreams; for a transitory, enchanted moment, man must have held his breath in the presence of this great continent, compelled into an aesthetic contemplation he neither understood nor desired, face to face for the last time in history with something commensurate to his capacity for wonder. Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but no matter--tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms father. And one fine morning-- So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past." ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald "Dawn is not far off, but dawn will not help us, I fear." ~Hama |
