Author has written 67 stories for Starsky and Hutch. Oh good. I finally found the profile bit! Well, hello there. My name is Janet and I took up writing fiction in December 2006. I loved S & H the first time round and when the series became available on DVD - well! Then I found fanfiction (during a very long and boring trial I was doing!). From then on I was hooked and loved all the stories I read, but in particular those written by two women who have become such dear friends - Starskysgal and Shawnetilldawn. Wuemsel also influenced me a lot and I love her easy way with conversation. There are so many talented people out there, and they are so generous in their help and feedback. Anyway - about me. I live in Lancashire England in a little village on the edge of Lancashire Witch country. I've lived in this area all my life, but travel extensively around the world. I used to be a nurse, but then changed to the law and I have worked at various Crown Courts in Lancashire for the past 29 years. I have a wonderful husband to whom I have been married for 29 years. I married him just as the S&H craze was coming to an end. He looked just like Hutch - all blond hair and moustache, which is a shame because I always wanted to marry Starsky! He has never read any of my stories and although he likes that I write, the subject matter leaves him scratching his head! I have a daughter (22) who is a medical student and a qualified nurse. Whatever I can't remember from my nursing days, she helps me with. I have in the past put personal experiences into some of my stories - the Castle (The truth, the whole truth) is a real castle in which there is a real courtroom (I worked there for 3 years), the MV Adonis (which is actually P&O's Oceana) in the Major Redemption, and a scenario in a story called Safe House. It did happen (including the torture), and I did the trial to prove it, but of course, the names have been changed to protect the innocent (or not so innocent!). Thank you for reading my stories, and I hope you continue to enjoy! As a writer I need feedback - it lets me know what works and what doesn't. And so, dear reader, although you may never have wanted to write any reviews before, please consider it. All writers need to know if they're 'hitting the mark' and only you can tell them. Oh, and I have been moved to take the occasional request/challenge! You may like to visit my website at http:/// Lots of love and hugs. Janet (Kirsty Welsh) |
