A Poem that I wrote on 9/11 As the commuters ride the Bus or ferry or even fly From New York to New Jersey Or from New Jersey to New York Everyday, we look at the Manhattan Skyline And notice that Something is missing Something is missing From the view of our eyes Something is missing Don’t know where to look And we don’t know why We need to be strong We need to be brave We need each other Whether we’re friends or strangers To survive through this tragic loss Something is missing From the view of our lives Something is missing Don’t know how to feel And we don’t know why We will rebuild We will show the world How we feel Throughout our tragic loss Something is missing From the view of our eyes Something is missing Don’t know where to look And we don’t know why Together we stand Strong as one We will be brave We will rebuild
