![]() Author has written 7 stories for Phantom of the Opera, Fairy Tales, Princess Bride, Lord of the Rings, and Persuasion. The sunset was captured off the coast of North Cape during my stay on Prince Edward Island in Canada. North Cape is the northern-most point of the crescent-shaped island. PEI was the birthplace of Lucy Maud Montgomery, my favorite author, and its beauty inspired her. About me My penname describes how I feel about my craft. Like a mockingbird, I rehearse what I've grown to know and understand and respond to the music around me in my own unique tune. That's the true joy I find in writing--my voice, freely expressed. When I need to think through things, I write. I often work problems out while writing fics. The story is often unrelated to the issue I'm dealing with, but I work it out by connecting scenes and subplots like a game of Tetris. In a few cases the story characters will break out and claim their own life. That's when I begin posting. I post here and on fictionpress (same penname). Moral Code of Conduct: I will not write profanity or take God’s name for granted in my writing, nor do I enjoy reading it. (Same goes for explicit sexual content.) I'm a Christian. My Heavenly Father is very dear to me. Of course, I'm terribly flawed, but I don't intend to use that as an excuse to quit trying. My mistakes are not proof that God doesn't exist, they prove that I'm not God. My inconsistencies are not proof that God has not given me a standard to live by, they prove that I'm not always following God's standard. About my posted scribblings A Lyrical Persuasion: (over 60K hits and counting) Complete! Modernized with a flair for archaic language, ALP’s storyline attempts to stay true to the characters and events of Austen’s work. Leroux’s Phantom is the inspiration for the POTO names and scenes, though ALP does not follow its plot or characterizations. I listened to Karl Jenkin’s Adiemus IV: The Eternal Knot to recapture the mood for the story when writing. Daughters of the King's Forest: - on hiatus as punishment for turning into a trilogy on me The Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson tales, Greek and Norse Mythology, Germanic Legend, Celtic Lore, adventures such as Lord of the Rings, Peter Pan, Pickwick Papers, and Ivanhoe, and a host of other fiction influences had a meeting in my brain and recreated this piece. It is, hopefully, a new take on familiar stories and myths that have been passed down through the centuries. For mood conditioning while writing, I listened to ES Posthumus: Unearthed. Dragonfly Prince:Custom Book Image created by Kristen E. Fleming and used by permission My fascination with dragonflies finally emerged into a story. 'Mesmerizing' is the only word I know to describe how this piece played out as I wrote it. There are a great many misspelled words and typos, since my characters are really talkative. I just tried to keep up with their dictation.I drew mood inspiration listening to Amethystium, mostly from the Emblem album.Update 10/2012: Though Dragonfly Prince remains incomplete online, the manuscript is complete and being critiqued. |
