Author has written 4 stories for Tenchi Muyo. Name: MoonstoneCabbit Sex: Female Feb. 9,2007 I got mixed reviews of my story, "Washu gives a lecture on OVA III." Some thought it was funny while others said it wasn't. Maybe more people would have found it funny if I'd had Washu drop large, heavy objects on the heads of members of the audience like she did in the episode, "I Love Tenchi." "One reviewer asked, among other things, if harem comedies were really that funny. Well, a lot of people thought the concept was funny enough for "Tenchi Universe," "Tenchi in Tokyo," and "Tenchi Muyo GXP" to be made. Another reviewer said that the reason Airi beat Ryoko was slapstick. I don't think it would have been in character for Washu to have said something like "It was slapstick. Forget about it." She even complimented Airi on her technique. So I did some research to find a non-slapstick reason. The same reviewer said that Yosho didn't defeat Ryoko; the sword did. To me that's like saying a gun shot someone and that the person who pulled the trigger had nothing to do with it. Very little was shown of the fight in the OVA other than a brief scene in which Yosho was seen on bended knee with the sword thrust into Ryoko's throat. She was still struggling until the last gem was pulled into the Tenchi-ken. I understand that a more detailed account of their fight can be found in the OVA based novel, "Yousho." That reviewer also called into question Yosho's fighting skill. In the first OVA episode, he easily beat Tenchi while sitting down. In the third episode he easily blocked a punch from Ryoko with his palm. He didn't have the sword either of those times. In the fifth episode Yosho fought both Ryoko and Kagato simultaneously. I thought he showed a great deal of skill in that episode. Anothe reviewer said that Tenchi was an avatar and not the being that the choshin were looking for. Whatever the case, Tenchi was still powerful enough to perform material conversion and slice a huge space ship in half, change the gravity constant and get out of a black hole, and survive getting hit with the full force of a light hawk wing and cause disruptions in other dimensions. May 29,2007 I posted a poem that I wrote, but it didn't display the way I wanted it to. Does anyone know how I can get the verses I wrote to look like a proper poem with single spacing between lines and indenting? My favorite Anime is "Tenchi Muyo!" If I were to sum it up in one word, that word would be family. I love all the main characters despite any imperfections they might have. I also like "Tenchi Universe," but I feel that it suffered from rushed introductions of the characters and the way Aeka was stranded on Earth. I think that Tenchi could be happy even if he married all of them! But, since Tenchi is still a teenager, I don't think he should have to choose until he has finished growing up! After all, his sister Tennyo is still single and she's 80. His Aunt Minaho is over 700! Airi and Yosho do seem to be pushing her to give them grandchildren though. As for "Tenchi inTokyo", Tenchi would be better off without that obsessed mob of alien monsters hounding him! Even though they'd all make terrible wives, I still like them. But, I hate the way they contunually abused Tenchi's father right up to the torture chamber scene in the last episode. I like good stories that focus on the main characters. When s.i. and romance appear together in the summary of a story, I usually don't bother with it. I HATE roadkill bashing fics. I'm tired of S.I. hunks who take over the stories, especially when they are WOW! just as nice as, but more powerful than Tenchi. Has anyone else noticed how similar a lot of s.i. characters are to Tenchi? I think that if you like a story enough to write a fanfic about it, you should treat all the characters with respect and avoid making some characters look bad in order to make others look better in comparison. My favorite character is Tenchi Masaki. Some people think he's too passive and boring because he doesn't seem to have many faults, but I find him quite interesting. The problems he has trying to lead a normal life and having to come to terms with the fact that he isn't normal are a central part of the story. I would like it if he would put his foot down more often and demand to be respected more. On the other hand, considering that he's powerful enough to destroy the Earth many times over, it's a good thing that he doesn't get angry very often. I don't like many of the stories that have been crossovered with "Tenchi Muyo." I'm not very interested in other animes or mangas besides Ranma 1/2. Unfortunately, in most of the crossovers I've seen of the two Ranma gets replaced with an S.I. Ranma Sue with god-like abilities. Character growth is one thing but in most stories Ranma winds up with a totally different personality, and no amount of character growth could raise his I.Q. I'm not saying that he's stupid but Rumiko Takahashi did have him say and do a lot of stupid things for the sake of making the story funnier. If anyone knows of any crossovers that focus more on Tenchi and keep the characters who they are without the terrible bashing that occurs in many stories, I'd appreciate it if they would let me know. My favorite story is "The Harem Saga" by Jeff Harris that I read at . |
