Armor Abs Krabs: (REWORKING) CHAPTER 1 is UP!

Armor Abs Krabs is a story I have been attempting to write many times over simply because I felt my previous work wasn't all that good. Also, it was interfering with my schoolwork, so I had to drop from FanFiction for almost two years before I decided to come back. Anyways, this story is a bold attempt by myself to create some history behind Mr. Krabs and why it is he is the cheapskate he is today. It is also an attempt to add some background to Bikini Bottom and the condition the rest of the Ocean World is in.

Using refrences and events from worldwide/international conflicts, I am attemtping to formulate a story that will ultimately provide the background for a young Eugene Krab's struggle in his early life. I have been doing some research, pulling conflicts such as the COLD WAR, the SALT talks, WWII, etc. for inspiration.

Now, of course, you may be wonder, "Dude, what the hell are you doing? It's just fanfiction."

True.

However, I find that fanfiction has been an excellent foundation for me in terms of my writing style and how it has developed. I find that pulling already familiar characters and sticking them in a new situation is a great exercise for the mind. To see these characters you already know in a new light can be fascinating, especially if you have to use limited information to build upon them. Luckily, there is a lot of info on Mr. Krabs that I was able to utilize in my story. It is also great to use these characters to build a strong plot.

With this in mind, I have an idea of what it's like to create a truly original story. I get a sense for how things work in life and how different attitudes affect decisions. In a sense, you get to know the character even better, and that can help you formulate ideas for your OWN characters and your OWN settings and your OWN plots. You gotta start somewhere, right?

Anyhow, this is my start. This story will consist of 3 Books, the first being "Sea Legs" and the next two currently untitled. The plot will follow several different people in their own struggles and features an ensemble cast. Eugene Krabs is obviously the main character, as are his shipmates. But the story will also follow a political leader fighting to negotiate peace in the struggle I have create that is strongly reminiciant of the COLD WAR. It will also follow Eugene's girlfriend and lover, a whale named Marlene, and her struggle at home (Whether it's dealing with food rations and caring for Eugene's stricken mother or fighting to find what she really feels for him.) The enemy of this story will remain in secrecy, and will only be unveiled at certain turning points in the plot.

In a sense, you get to see all sides of the war: the Front, the Political Side, and the Homefront.
