I'm 33 and happily married with two kids (boys of 11 and 9). My likes and dislikes in terms of fandom are far too numerous to bore you with here, suffice to say if I've written a fanfic within a universe, chances are I'm quite fond of that universe.

And I'm delighted to say that despite my earlier scepticism of ever getting anywhere writing-wise, I'm now published (hooray!) as a writer of my own little universe. My three books are called Folk'd, Folk'd Up and Completely Folk'd and are an urban fantasy trilogy set in Northern Ireland. You can get them here:

Fanfic helped me immensely in becoming a better writer, so on the small chance you're reading this and you want to pursue a writing career, my advice is to use fanfic (and don't for one moment be ashamed of doing so) to cut your teeth and hone your muscles, but be ready to make the leap into something completely original when the time comes.
