The red box was right there. The sendifacator would be able to take him to Jake.
Dirk sat in front of the sendifacator, thinking to himself. For once, everything was quiet in both the dream world and the real world. He was about to talk to Jake about sending the brobot head to him so he could complete the robot.
But in reality, he didn't want the brobot there. He wanted to be there. Dirk wished that he hadn't been born in the era he had. If he was born around the same time as jake, he could have actually met him, maybe even gone out with him. Now that he thought about it, English didn't seem that interested in him. And he was starting to get the feeling that Crocker did.
Well… Jane and Jake had been born in the same time period… Maybe they were supposed to be together.
Standing up, Strider placed a hand on the sendificator and pondered if he could somehow fit in there.
No. There was no way. If brobot couldn't fit in one piece, there was no way he could.
A sigh left his mouth. He wondered what Jake looked like. He didn't know yet, but he would later; once he sent the head.
Dirk glanced over at the head and frowned. It was lifeless. It was cold metal with a computer brain and a stolen image. His gaze shifted to Lil Cal before he frowned.
His eyes flashed around the room. There was no sign of life that wasn't artificial. He was the only real thing in sight. His fist clenched slightly as he punched the wall, leaving a dent and popping his knuckles. He cradled his hand for a second before sitting down. His mind wondered a bit more. Wasn't there someway to get to Jake? No.
He was alone.
And there was nothing he could do about it.
