Authors Note: Hi there :) I write regularly but this is the first time I've "published" any of my work so I welcome any comments or suggestions! The story will follow a mix of both the book and movie plot lines with a few of my own changes. Tolkien created so many languages and I have tried to incorporate some accurate elvish (italics). I have been working on this for quite some time and already have ten chapters written so there will be regular updates. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to message me, I won't bite!

Of the legendary Fellowship countless tales have been told. They are recounted in Imladris, where some of the Fair Folk yet linger. Also in Gondor, where the Red Book of Westmarch is held, in the taverns of the Shire and in many other dwellings both east and west of the Sea. There were nine members who set out from Rivendell on the Quest to Mount Doom and yet another joined them shortly after.

The Ringbearer, Frodo Baggins was the first to take up the task of destroying the Ring of Power. He was a halfling of quick wit and great courage, leaving behind his home in order to save it from the wrath of Sauron. With him went his friend and gardener, Sam Gamgee. Many songs have been wrought for the great deeds of Samwise the Brave, who helped his master see the Quest through to the very end.

Two more hobbits went with them, Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took, better known as Merry and Pippin. They were curly haired and cunning, quite adept at creating mischief. Though they were the youngest of the Fellowship they rose to honour in the halls of men, in Gondor and in Rohan. It was Merry who aided Éowyn in the destruction of the Witch King of Angmar on the fields of Pelennor and Pippin who saved Faramir from the burning of his father, Denethor II.

The leader of the Fellowship was a wizard, Gandalf the Grey, called Mithrandir by the Elves. He was wise, having learned pity and patience from Nienna before appearing in Middle Earth. Though fierce when angered, he was kind and possessed great power which he used to help the Free Peoples. Another leader of the Company was Aragorn, son of Arathorn. He was heir to the throne of Gondor and a great swordsman. At both healing and tracking he also had great skill and he wielded Andúril, forged from the shards of Narsil.

A second man accompanied them, Boromir, son of the steward of Gondor. He was a warrior of immense strength, high in honour and dignity. He fought tirelessly for the good of his people and traveled for over 100 days to reach the Council of Elrond. Though corrupted by the Ring, he wished to use it only to free his people from their fear of Sauron. To represent the dwarves went Gimli, son of Gloin. He had a beard of fire and wielded a fearsome war axe. He was ever mistrustful of the Elves until he met Galadriel, who from that point on, he declared the fairest being that would ever walk the earth.

Lastly were the two elves, the most tireless of all the Fellowship. The first was Legolas Greenleaf, Prince of Mirkwood. He was a powerful warrior, his prowess with a bow near unmatched. Though of solemn disposition he was quick to delight in trees and growing things. The second was Eredhel, daughter of Elrond the Half-Elven. She was a guardian among her people and a fearsome opponent in battle. Her feet were quick and her mind clever. It was said that the light of Elbereth shone in her eyes.
