He could not understand what the humans experienced when they bit into a strawberry and made the expressions they made when they enjoyed things. He knew they were experiencing something beyond what he experienced, because he had felt the faintest tinglings of what they called taste when he added a large amount of substances containing capsaicin to any food he ate. But that was all.
Now he understood.
