A/N: I think this might have to be the last chapter ya'll. This is an edit of the last chapter posted. The changes take place right after Addy passes out in the car.

The privacy the newlyweds had in their lakefront cabin was great. The smell of the pine forest that surrounded them permeated the air, keeping it clean and fresh. They enjoyed fishing on the azure lake, Leonard having landed landlocked salmon as Addy laughed trying to net it.

"You know you get to clean it, right?" She laughed as she looked at it. He strung it alongside the boat as they continued to fish, shaking his head in amusement.

"Well, I catch it, you cook it." He retorted.

"You don't gut it, I cook it with the guts in." She crossed her arms in defiance. Leonard shuddered caving in to the fish gutting chore. They spent the rest of the afternoon just paddling around the lake, catching and throwing back their fish. As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, they paddled back towards the shore. Leonard helped his wife step out of their little boat, as she stumbled on the slick bank. "I'm alright babe, don't worry," She smiled at him.

"Well, here, I'll get the rest of the stuff outta the boat, you take these fish up to the cabin and get them ready for cleanin, alright?" He gave her a stern worried look. She nodded and obliged, starting up the path to their little log abode. It was very rustic to say the least, as the she walked past the stone chimney on the way in. She decided to be sweet as she easily gutted the six pound salmon Leonard reeled in, since he was sweet enough to empty the boat on his own.

Leonard walked in, already smelling the dill she was chopping for their meal, a cast iron skillet heating on the stove. She was sprinkling a little salt and pepper on the fillet that she expertly sliced from the body when his hands wrapped around her, his hips grinding into her, swaying her gently. He brought his lips down on her neck breathing her in. Her natural scent drove him wild.

"Len, you oughta be good." She giggled, moaning as his teeth scraped against her skin, she felt the tingle streak through her body.

"Maybe I don't want to?" He groaned, pressing his hardening length into her further. The fish sizzled on the grill as she turned it. His hand snaked up her torso, gently massaging her tender breasts as she hissed inwardly. "Too rough?" He asked, knowing she had been having some pain with too much breast play.

"Just a little, sorry baby." She pouted. He pulled back, and was content to just rub her outer breasts, gently kneading them until he could pull her away long enough to enjoy his bride. Their dinner was left forgotten as they consummated their marriage over and over that evening. With only 3 days to have the cabin they wanted to make the most of it, and make the most of it, they did.

The Georgian heat was upon them once again as they went through some of Leonards old childhood items. It was decided to keep a crib, a changing table, and a small dresser among other things. Adelaide was ready to have the baby. She was tired, emotional, and her back constantly ached from carrying. At just over 8 months, she knew that it would all be over soon, and thanked the stars for that. Leonard was more protective than ever, making sure she didn't overdue anything. Diane and David did what they could to make her comfortable without making her feel useless. Diane, if anybody, was the most excited for this child, her first grandchild.

She could barely talk about nothing else, besides giving parenting advice and tips of how she had raised Leonard and her other son. Leonard was the one who usually got annoyed, as the reality of being a father began to hit him hard. He was getting nervous, and it was beginning to show. One evening as they lay in bed, Addy rolled onto her side facing him, her belly filling the space between their bodies.

"Len, talk to me. What's going on?" She finally pressed.

He let out a deep sigh, and shook his head. "Nothing, just, nerves." He didn't want to stress her out.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm just nervous about this. I'm scared to be a dad right now, honestly. I mean, the rest of our lives, we will have a son or daughter to care for and look after. What if we mess up? What if it hates us?" He stared up at the ceiling going through the worst case scenarios in his mind. "I'm just, having second thoughts." He finally whispered.

"Len, it's a little late for second thoughts, don't you think?" She arched her brow. "We have less than two weeks give or take, and this baby will be here. We can't just say no, we don't want to be parents yet, and give this away." She pouted. "We are both scared, and that's normal for new parents. That's normal for experienced parents." She tried to soothe him, but he wasn't in the mood to be coaxed. "We won't be doing this alone, alright?" She reassured and lay her head down to rest.

Addy was lucky to take what rest she could. Somewhere in the middle of the night she woke up to severe pain. Her breath caught in her throat, and she began to sweat, feeling nauseous. "Len... Len." She whimpered, reaching frantically for him. He stirred, nuzzling into the pillow further before his eyes snapped open, realization coming over him.

As soon as he jumped out of bed and turned on the lights, he could see her reeling, holding her lower abdomen, the sheets wet with her amniotic fluid. She let out a low rough groan. Her legs rubbed together as if it would somehow ward off the pain she was feeling. "This is early." She said shakily, gritting her teeth.

"Yeah, well it's 1:30 in the mornin." He squinted at the clock as he helped her up out of bed and onto her feet. He squatted down putting her slippers on. She let out a loud cry as a powerful contraction lurched her forward. Within moments, the door swung open and Diane was standing there in her night dress.

"Oh good heaven the babies comin. Your a bit early, dontcha think?" She rushed in to help Addy get into a long overcoat. "I'll call the doctor child, let them know we comin." She patted her sons shoulder as she pushed past David in the doorway to get to the phone.

"I'll help ya get 'er to the car son, come on." He placed an arm under Addys shoulder, Leonard on the other side.

"I'll carry her, you just get the doors." He scooped her up, feeling her hot breath against his neck as she breathed deeply, trying to temper the pain. They placed her in the backseat of the truck with Leonard with his parents in the front. Diane tried to calm the woman, doing her best, but the pain was too much. The contractions were getting stronger as she let out another screaming groan.

The truck swirled around her as she grew dizzy, tears slipping down her face. "Stay with me Adelaide, stay with me." Leonard grabbed her hand looking into her shook her head. She heard Leonards voice resounding in her ears. "Len, please, what's... what's..." She tried to get out, but her world went black.

She was laying in a warm bed, an IV hooked up to her arm, the gentle beeping of the vitals screen. Groaning, she propped herself up.

"Hey, hey darlin' careful. How are ya feelin?" Leonard sat down beside her leaning in. He rested a hand on her head as she cleared her vision.

"Yeah, I um, I'm alright. What happened?" She coughed softly, leaning her head away from him. He sighed, giving a soft smile.

"Well, the pain must have gotten to ya pretty bad. You blacked out. We were able to get you to the hospital though, and they got some of the good stuff in ya." He gave a soft chuckle. She groaned, rubbing her hip. "They're a little surprised that you are two weeks early. It used to be common, but these days, births are rarely early. Like, one in two million births?" He sighed. "And go figure it had to be you huh?" He smiled, leaning in to kiss her sweaty forehead.

"The baby is fine, though you are pretty dilated right now." He looked up at the screen. :Another hour or two, and I'm sure that baby will be here. Youre looking close." He smiled.

"Are you still having second thoughts?" She turned her head to look at him, resting a hand on her swollen belly. Leonard looked down, and nodded slowly.

"But you know, I saw some other men down the hall, and I can tell ya, I'm a lot more put together than they are." He laughed. "Mom and Dad went to get some coffee, but after seeing those other dads down there, I'm staying right here next to you. They make me more nervous than being a dad does."

"Len, it'll be alright. You know that." She lifted her head asking for a kiss which he obliged in giving. She took in a sharp gasp.

"Contraction?" Leonard raised a brow as she nodded, her face twisted in a grimace.

"Oh, I don't want to imagine what that would feel like without the drugs." She moaned.

At 0541, Leonard and Adelaide welcomed a son. Leonard proudly cut the cord, and waited for him to be cleaned up. The nurse handed him the baby, while Addy delivered the afterbirth. She panted, sweaty and in pain as she watched Leonard holding their son.

"So, what shall we name him?" Leonard finally asked, looking up to Addy.

"I thought we decided on Spock." She gave a breathy giggle as she was given more pain meds.

"What? Oh now get real. Seriously." He sat on the bed next to her, passing their son to him.

"Oh, he is so beautiful, isn't he?" She sniffed, looking at his tuft of black hair. His eyes were closed, as she looked at his chubby cheeks and pink lips. He was swaddled in a cream colored blanket, giving a yawn. "Oh, Leonard, thank you so much. He is perfect." She cried softly, kissing his forehead.

The couple sat together, enjoying their newest addition. They talked happily about the future, taking turns holding him. He watched as the baby nursed for the first time on her engorged breast. She laid back down, letting Leonard hold the baby, the pain killers kicking in a lot harder. As she began to drift off to sleep, Leonard just sat there, holding his son. The feeling that came over him was a mix of fear, of love, of joy. He knew in that moment that he never wanted to give this family up. No, he would fight. He would always fight for this.

A knock came to the door before his parents slipped in silently. "Oh my goodness, Leonard!" His mother whispered excitedly. His father had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. Leonard carefully passed his son off to his mother, who just cooed and aww'ed the newborn.

"Len, you know this child looks just like you when you were born." She teared up. "Oh, I can't believe this. He is so adorable, I can't wait to get him home to meemaws house." She squealed in delight. "Oh, David dear, go ahead, get a picture of the new parents and the baby." She handed the son back and stood back so they could have a picture. Leonard nudged his wife, hoping to wake her up enough for a picture. She groaned, reaching a hand out, placing it gently on the bundle. She smiled sleepily as the camera clicked.

The child was passed around between the three adults, picture after picture being taken. "So, how big was he anyways? I didn't even ask." Diane finally asked as the room settled.

"He was 7 pounds, 14 ounces and 23 inches long." He smiled.

"Oh, he's gonna be a tall one." Diane smiled. "You were only about 18 inches I believe when you were born." She sighed.

"Yeah, well, Addy there was about 23 inches when she was born. Thats what she said her grandparents had said at least. So it makes sense." Leonard nodded. "Did you guys get me a coffee too?" He looked around, noticing how tired he was now.

"We can go get you one, you're gonna need it." David smiled.

His father was right. Coffee became Leonard best friend. He was extremely grateful that his son did not cry much at night. If he did, then Addy was usually the first to get up and check on him. Some mornings, he would wake up to see her asleep in the recliner next to his crib, stretched out with the baby to her chest.

"So, doll, we still have to come up with a name." Leonard spoke to her one morning as they played with the baby on the living room floor. She had no makeup on, and her hair was pulled back in a ponytail, but to Leonard, she was beautiful.

"Oh, I don't know Len. There are so many names, I just, don't know." She shook her head as she spun a mobile of the milky way over his head, watching his large hazel eyes take interest in the 3-D model. "What about Hugo?" She looked up at him.

"Hugo? Really? That reminds me of the Hunchback of Notre Dame if you ask me." He chuckled.

"Len! Hugo is a fine name." She protested playfully.

"What about Elliot?" Leonard offered. Addy nodded slowly as she rolled the name off of her tongue.

"Elliot. I like that. Elliot Leonard McCoy?" She suggested. "I think your name should be in there somewhere." She smiled.

"Elliot Leonard McCoy. I like that. I can live with that." He picked the baby up gently, holding him up.

"Elliot. You are going to grow up with a lot of love little guy. And you will always have someone around to love you and care about you." He smiled, kissing the baby on its fat cheek. He leaned over to kiss his wife. "Thank you Addy. For everything. But thank you for marrying me, and giving me a family of my own." He kissed her again.

When Leonard wasn't with her and the baby, Diane was there. She took great joy in making the baby laugh, and bathing him, and feeding him.

"You really like doing this, don't you?" Addy asked her that evening as Diane helped to give the baby a bath.

"Oh, more than you know. I always loved havin little feet running around, but soon, my babies grew up, and those cute little feet turned into big ugly man feet." She laughed. "I guess Leonard and David are going back to your guys' place for a few days to set up the apartment with that crib. Good thing too, I don't think you really want to deal with that when you get home." She smiled, lifting the baby from the warm water, drying him off.

"Well, that wouldn't be so bad. You and I can go out if you'd like. Maybe you can show me more of this town." Addy offered. "I think some girl time would do us some good." She smiled.

"You know hun, I would like that. Especially when I get to go out with my little grandbaby." She cooed at the baby, holding his little feet. Addy laughed, and sighed sadly.

"I wish my own parents were here to see this." She spoke sadly. "But I am glad that Elliot has grandparents." She added, not wanting Diane to feel put out.

"Oh, don't you worry about that sugar, this baby is always going to be loved. I know there is a special bond when a baby is born, between the mother and her own parents, but you know, you have us. And well, David and I may not have created you or raised you, but we love you like our own." She pulled her daughter in law in for a reassuring hug.

Three days later, the men were gone, leaving Diane and Addy to care for Elliot. The women had a great time, as they went through doing "spring" cleaning, baking all sorts of goods, and spending time playing with Elliot. While Diane liked the old fashioned toys she saved from Leonards childhood, Leonard and Addy preferred the modern education and stimulating toys. Toys that showed Elliot the world, and colors, and allowed him new sounds.

The day before the men got home, Addy and Diane spent the day in town, going from shop to shop. They mostly perused, but what struck their fancy, they bought. By midday, they found themselves outside of an ice cream shop, both eating cones, and talking while Elliot stayed shaded in his stroller. The warm winds passed over them, the sun beamed down, and the Georgian humidity wasn't so bad now, as they talked merrily. In fact, by the time they were headed home, Elliot was snoozing in his car seat, and Addy was wondering if perhaps having a home near Diane and David wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Addy was picking beans at the island counter, while Diane boiled potatoes for potato salad when they heard a car pull up. The screen door opened and closed with a bang, and the two men were home once more.

"Oh, where is my beautiful wife?" She heard David call from the doorway. Diane giggled and walked to the door to give her husband a hug. Leonard walked past his mother to go straight to his own wife, pulling her in tight, dipping her back, kissing her with all he had. By the time he let her up, her cheeks were flushed, as she took a deep breath.

"Well, hello to you too Len." She smiled, resting a hand on his shoulder. He gave her a broad smile, which was wiped away as soon as he heard crying from the breakfast nook, where Elliot was in a bouncer, in view of his mother. The old hound was laying nearby, keeping the baby entertained every time he lazily wagged his tail, a heavy thumping on the wood floor.

"Oh, come here little man. Dad's got ya." He grunted as he picked up the baby, rocking him and bouncing him gently. "Don't you get to cryin just because I came back." He smiled. Elliot just cried harder as Leonard held him. Hearing the scream in his ear, Leonard turned to Addy with a look that said 'jeez, this kid has a set of lungs, why don't you come over here and calm him down?' Addy laughed softly and shook her head, going back to picking beans. Leonard rolled his eyes, and walked out to the living room, sitting down in a chair, tending to the baby.

"Well Len, is his diaper dirty? Is he hungry? You gotta check to see if he's wet." She heard Diane talking to him, as she laughed again. But hey, she and Diane had been taking care of everything for Elliot the last few days. Leonard needed to stay sharp on his skills, she reasoned, as went into the living room to watch Leonard change Elliots diaper on the changing pad on the floor.

"My gosh, what did you give this kid to eat?" Leonard turned his nose up as he removed the diaper. "Smells like a rotting Gorm, I tell ya." He shook his head, as he reached for cleansing wipes. Addy tried hard to suppress her giggles as Leonard clumsily tried to put the cloth diapers back onto him. When he was done, he sat back on his knees, looking at his babys wet eyes and sad little pout. "What?" Leonard asked, in a playfully stern manner. "Don't you pout at me mister... Don't you pout at me mister..." He leaned forward, tickling the Elliots belly, drawing shrieking giggles from him. Addy leaned against the wall, watching Leonard in this seemingly natural element.

"Ahhh, home at last." Addy sighed, as they pulled up to their apartment building. "Good thing you shipped stuff back before we left. I would not want to haul a bunch of stuff upstairs." She looked over at Leonard who had the carrier on his arm, making sure the bright California sun wasn't shining in Elliots eyes.

"What was that?" Len looked up, tucking his communicator in his pocket. "Yeah, I hear you. If you want to take the diaper bag and the luggage, I'll take Elliot. We boys gotta stick together." He nodded. Addy laughed as she rolled her eyes.

"Lets go Len, before I decide to go back to Georgia." She smiled. Up to their floor, and down the hall until she was in front of their door.

"Alright, I can't wait to see the baby room." She smiled brightly, unlocking the door.

As soon as she stepped in further, she stopped in her tracks, dropping the luggage. "That's why I carried the baby." Leonard muttered.

"SURPRISE!" A large group of people whispered. If Addy hadn't been so shocked, she would have actually been amused. They all wore baby blue party hats with silver streamers on top. Nyota even convinced Spock to wear one, though he did not appear to share in the enthusiasm that she had. Nyota rushed up to Addy, wrapping her arms around her shoulders.

"Oh, it's so good to see you back. I'm so happy for you both!" She cried, being sure to keep her voice down so as not to make Elliot cry. Leonard set the carrier down, and picked him up handing him to Nyota. He had promised her when he was here with his dad, that she would be the first to hold him when they got in.

"Oh, guys, he is so precious." She shook her head as if she couldn't stand his cuteness. "You are so lucky." She rocked him gently. Addy felt Leonard pull her in, as the other crew members and hospital coworkers gathered around, to get a better look.

"Ah, he's so wee!" Scotty admired. "I cannae believe it, 'e's teeny." He laughed.

"He looks like his dad, that's for sure." Jim smiled, as he looked into the childs face. For some reason, he had hoped he would look at Adelaides son, and see himself, but it was not to be so. "Very handsome, Bones. Very handsome." He clapped a hand on the CMO's shoulder.

After a few times around the room, Elliot became fussy, and wanted to take a nap. Addy took him into the new baby room, quite thrilled with the way that it turned out. After breastfeeding, burping and changing him, she laid him down for a nap, and returned to the party.

"Since we didn't have a baby shower, or a bridal shower, I thought it would be nice to have a post-baby shower." Nyota smiled as Addy rejoined the crowd.

"Nyota, this is more than I could have asked for, and I thank you guys so very much." She smiled, officially greeting and thanking everybody for coming. Food and drink had been set up on the counters, and there was conversation aplenty to go around.

"So are you coming back to the Enterprise then?" Sulu asked, as he took a sip of champagne.

"Well, I will be, but, we are discussing if Addy will come as well for now." Leonard answered, as Addy sighed sadly.

"Are you kidding? Of course Addy is coming, she has to come along." Nyota smiled confused.

"Well, not when there is a baby involved. I would assume Addy would stay home and raise Elliot." Sulu replied, questioning the stance.

"Who knows, maybe Leonard will stay home and raise Elliot, while I go on the Enterprise." Addy laughed. Leonard nodded in agreement. With her attitude, it very well could happen. The topic was turned to what they wanted for Elliots future. Would they want him to do in the future? Were they planning of having more children? Would they stay in San Francisco or would they move to Georgia to be closer to Leonards family? They were all questions that Addy and Leonard couldn't fully answer at that moment.

The party was breaking up, as people left back to their duties. "Addy, Bones, can I talk to you for a moment?" Jim asked, standing near the sliding glass door. The couple followed him out onto the patio, closing the door to give them privacy.

Jim sighed before looking at the two of them. "We got the five year mission." He said flatly.

"Jeez." Leonard huffed, putting a hand over his mouth.

"That means, I need you on the Enterprise with me for this mission Bones. You are my CMO, you are who I trust. I can't leave without you on that ship." Jim shook his head.

"Dammit man, I just had a son. I can't be gone for the first five years of his life!" He gritted in his typical Bones fashion.

"Yeah, I know. Which is why I can't leave without Elliot and Addy on my ship either. You won't go if they don't go, and I won't go without you." He sighed. Addy grinned, as Bones pulled Jim into a brotherly hug.

When the last person had gone home, and the mess had been cleaned up, Leonard and Addy looked in on Elliot. He was still sleeping soundly, warm in a one piece. They moved over to their own room, pulling back the blankets and settling in.

"Ohhhh, my gosh that feels so amazing." Addy snuggled into her soft bed, groaning.

"I have an idea about what else would feel amazing." Leonard purred, as he nuzzled against Addy's neck, gently sucking her skin.

"Len, you are so bad." She moaned, as his lips sent shivers down her spine.

He ran his hands under her shirt, his thumb gently stroking across her nipple. "Why don't we work on making Elliot a little sibling?" He groaned, placing himself between her thighs.

"Len, why don't we just practice?" She arched her brow, smiling sweetly at him.

"Fine by me." He shrugged. "Practice makes perfect." He grinned, giving his wife a most salacious look.

A/N: Alright, sorry if the end wasn't that great. It does leave it open for another chapter, but I think this will probably be it. This chapter could be edited in the future, but I just thought it was time to bring this story to a close... otherwise I would just keep on writing lol. Well, anyways, thank you for following this story.
