Epilogue

Even though Harry planned to stay at Hogwarts so he could be close to Minerva and Severus, he thought while he had just over two weeks before he returned as a student, he might buy a house, for him and his sister. He knew he would spend a lot of time at the castle, but his sister would be an adult by the time he did his final year. She may not want to stay even if she was allowed, which he still hasn't spoken to Severus about that yet.

With the help from Jamie, they decided on the third house they looked at. Since it was within Hogsmeade, which was an all wizarding village, it meant Harry and Jamie could both fly whenever they were at the house. They also liked the fact that they could walk from Hogwarts in about fifteen minutes. After paying for the house which went a lot faster than it would in the muggle world, Harry used magic to repair a few things that needed fixing.

The spent a couple of hours every day shopping for furniture. They only had two weeks before they would be at Hogwarts as students, so they only got the basics, they didn't even buy any food. They thought it wouldn't get used when Harry spent all his time at Hogwarts, practicing potions. Jamie liked staying at Hogwarts because it meant she could use magic whenever she liked.

Harry made sure he got to spend some time with Severus, even if he felt like it wasn't long enough. But he knew Severus was busy making sure everything was ready for the students to return. They were cutting it close, but Severus told him the letters would be going out in another two days, which would give the students time to buy everything they needed.

Harry finished bottling his last potion, dreamless sleep potion. He would have Professor Slughorn check it unless Severus happened to come down to the potions room. For now he labelled it and placed it in the store cupboard, but he did mark it with red ink to indicate that it still needed checking by a professor.

Harry cleaned up then headed to the great hall for dinner. He found Jamie sitting at the Gryffindor table, reading a very thick book.

'You're engrossed in that,' Harry said as he sat down. He was then shocked when his sister threw her arms around him, hugging him tight, 'Jamie, what's wrong?'

'You…you, oh Harry.'

'Jamie, tell me, what's wrong?'

'Nothing is wrong Harry. Jamie is reading the latest release of Hogwarts, a history,' Minerva said as she sat beside her great nephew.

'Um, okay, but I still don't get why she's upset.'

'It has the full story of the battle of Hogwarts, including pictures. There are many pictures of you, and in every one you can tell you're injured, not to mentioned, tired.'

Harry sighed, 'Well, I always knew it would end up in some books sooner or later,' Harry just tightened his hold on Jamie until she was ready to let him go, 'Are there other books that's going to upset her?'

'Many, but it's good that she's reading them now and not after the students arrive.'

'Yeah, I suppose you're right.'

It took a while before Jamie was able to pull herself together. But for the rest of the day she never left Harry's side. He didn't mind, not when he knew how upset she was. He waited until she was asleep that night, placed a charm around her that would alert him if she woke then went to spend some time with Severus.

The letters were sent out two days later, but Minerva handed Harry and Jamie their letters. Harry ended up shocked that he would be head boy. Even though it was a reminder of his father, he knew if anyone else had been given the head boy job, people might complain about Severus as it was the headmaster who chose the head boy and girl. He knew what people were like especially when it came to the boy-who-lived, or as he was known now, the saviour of the wizarding world. He had known Hermione would get head girl, he wasn't sure who would get head boy, he just never thought it would be him. Just like his father, neither were prefects, yet ended up head boy, and that's why Harry was shocked, he hadn't been expecting it.

'From what I've been reading Harry, you deserve it,' Jamie said giving Harry a hug.

'Yeah, I suppose, it's just a surprise. Well, we can go finish our shopping. I'll just go see Severus first, while you get your key.'

'Okay, I'll wait on the steps for you.'

Harry turned and headed to the staff table, but he moved around it and sat on Severus' lap.

'I didn't even think of head boy, so I wasn't expecting it.'

'The staff and I spoke about this. Even though many helped win against Voldemort, it did come down to you in the end. We all had the same belief, if we gave it to someone else, all of us would end up with howlers. Will you be able to fit that in with your schedule?'

'I'll work it out, with Hermione. Once I have my schedule then I'll know what nights I'm needed for this. I'm taking Jamie to get her things, is there anything you want while I'm in Diagon alley?'

'No, you got the last few items I needed a few days ago. The staff are going to keep repairing the castle even if we know some areas will be closed off.'

'Alright, I'll see you when I get back. Oh, can you tell Professor Slughorn there is a potion that needs checking, and it's marked in red like he told me. I think it's perfect but it still needs to be checked.'

'I'll tell him, now go.'

Harry gave Severus a small kiss but he did wiggle before standing up. He had been doing things like that every day hoping Severus would say they had waiting enough. He gave Severus an innocent look as he walked off. All Severus could do was shake his head as he tried to get his body under control. He was thankful he was wearing robes.

When Harry and Jamie got to Diagon alley, they bumped into a heap of Harry's friends, like Ron and Hermione. One thing Harry noticed straight away, there were no parent's with any of them. It showed that they were all adults now, and it seems even Molly Weasley had accepted that and allowed her two youngest to shop for themselves.

As Harry joined them all Hermione did was raise an eyebrow, so Harry nodded which made her hug him, tightly. He looked at Ron who actually gave him a smile.

'I'm glad it wasn't me, mate. I want to practice quidditch as much as I can and still study so I can pass my N.E.W.T.s.'

'And you are still a prefect so you still have to do your duty as well.'

'I will, I wouldn't want to get the head boy or head girl angry at me.'

Harry and his friends laughed, Hermione huffed which made Jamie giggle. They all finally headed off to buy their Hogwarts things. Since Harry and Jamie had already gotten their robes, they went to get their books before the shop became too crowded, while everyone else headed off to Madam Malkins.

All the friends had a great time even though they were shopping. They did stop off for an icecream before heading home, or for Jamie and Harry, back to Hogwarts.

'Jamie, I know we're still getting to know each other, but there's one thing I've never asked. Do you know what you want to do when you finish at Hogwarts?'

'I used to think I knew, but I realised it's what…our parent's wanted me to do. They wanted me to work in the department of experimental charms and potions. Right now I'm not sure if that would suit me, or if I should read up on other careers.'

'Well, you take the main classes, along with arithmancy and ancient runes, so you'll have the skills and scores once you do decide. I would help, but really, this has to be your decision and it has to be something you want to do. Like I said to Hermione, even though she's smart and could do anything she wanted. I said she should take a job that she will enjoy, not just because she can do it. Even though we all have to take our jobs seriously, if you don't like what you're doing then you're not going to put in your best effort. It's like me with the aurors. I can do the job and I have the power, but I would hate going to work every day. If anyone told me a few years ago that I wanted to work on a career in potions, I would have told them they were crazy. Now I know it's the perfect career for me. I'm here if you want to talk things over, and Aunt Mini can help as well.'

'She's been wonderful, and I'll probably talk with both of you. Um, there is something I want to mention though.'

Harry heard how nervous Jamie sounded all of a sudden so he sat beside her, 'Okay, what's up?'

'Nothing's wrong, but well, I got a letter, from George Weasley.'

Harry sighed, he had been expecting this, 'Okay, is this about dating?'

'Well, he asked if I would meet him at the Three Broomsticks tomorrow. He thought we can have a butterbeer and get to know each other.'

'Is that what you want?'

Jamie blushed, 'He's cute,' she murmured.

Harry sighed again, 'Then if you want to, I won't stand in your way. I will give him a warning though. It's mandatory for all big brothers to threaten the boy their younger sister is dating.'

Jamie giggled, 'With what I've been reading, I think George knows not to get on the wrong side of you, saviour.'

Harry's eyes narrowed, then he began to tickle his sister until she was crying and begging for him to stop.

Minerva smiled as she watched her nephew and niece playing around. They were getting to know each other. They were becoming closer and they were beginning to act like brother and sister. The biggest thing she noticed though, they were healing. Harry, for everything he had been through since that fateful Halloween night, and Jamie for when her parent's abandoned her.

The trip on the Hogwarts express went off without one bit of trouble, from anyone. Ginny, Neville, Hannah and Susan kept Jamie company, and introduced her to other friends while Harry, Hermione and Ron headed for the prefect carriage. Harry and Hermione were a little surprise when they were greeted by the Slytherin prefects in a friendly manner. Since Pansy Parkinson ended up in Azkaban, Daphne Greengrass was now prefect. Draco Malfoy was still prefect. He actually told them that he offered to hand in his badge, but all the staff agreed to give him a chance. Harry and Hermione could tell just from that meeting that no one would have any trouble from the Slytherin's, or anyone else. When the prefects left, Harry said to Hermione that they might actually get one year without anything happening which made Hermione smile. Harry always hoped to get a year where nothing happened, she hoped it would finally happen.

During the whole trip, there was no trouble, the first time they were able to enjoy the ride without worrying about something happening. Harry and Hermione escorted the first years down to Hagrid, then explained to them that even though Hagrid was a very large man, he was very nice and would give them a gentle ride in the boats. Hagrid gave them both a hug before they joined their friends in the carriages.

Everyone took their seats and watched the first years get sorted. That was when something did happen. The Headmaster asked everyone to stand and give a minute's silence for all the people that die in both wars with Voldemort.

For the first time in the history of Hogwarts, there was not a sound to be heard out of the students or staff. Severus thanked everyone then told them all to enjoy the feast.

Many people began to ask Harry about the girl sitting beside him. The moment he explained who she was, within minutes word had spread to every student at Hogwarts. Even though word had been spreading that Harry Potter had a sister, most didn't want to believe it until they heard from Harry himself. They learned the hard way that the truth was not always printed, or told, not when it came to Harry. So now they wait to hear the truth from the saviour.

After the announcements, the students began to head to their house rooms. Severus and Minerva showed the eighth years to their new rooms. As the headmaster and deputy head left, Harry felt Severus put his hand inside his robes. Once he was in his room, he found some parchment that said Severus wanted to see him in his room, to use his cloak since he was not on duty that night.

Harry made it seem like he was going straight to bed as he had a big day and was tired. He hung up his robes, grabbed his cloak and map, then very carefully made his way out of the common room and made his way up to the headmaster's office. He didn't stop, just made his way through the office and into the rooms at the back. He found Severus in bed, his chest bare, and to Harry, it seemed like he was waiting for him to arrive.

'Since its Saturday tomorrow, I figured we could spend some time alone. How about you lose the clothes, Harry, and I mean, all the clothes.'

Harry's stomach flipped, but he grinned, hugely before he practically yanked all his clothes off, leaving them on the floor. Then he was in the bed and lying on top of Severus, ready to take their relationship to the next level. Even though Harry was a little nervous, he was also excited.

Harry and his friends finally got a year at Hogwarts without any danger or teachers trying to kill anyone, especially Harry. They all did their N.E.W.T.s and every person who was in their last year felt they had passed. No student collapsed from nerves nor was there any hysterics. Just like the rest of the year, the tests went off without a hitch.

On the last day, Harry stood with his friends before they went up and hugged every staff member. Naturally Harry decided to kiss Severus even though every student was watching.

Harry hugged all his friends, but he also shook hands with people like Draco Malfoy and the other Slytherin's. They may never be friends, but they were no longer enemies. He then stood with his sister and waved as he watched the carriages take the students to the Hogwarts express, or like some, they will apparate the moment they left the grounds of Hogwarts.

Jamie, who was in a serious relationship with George Weasley, hugged her brother and aunt before she climbed into the last carriage to leave Hogwarts and head to Hogsmeade to meet her boyfriend. They were going to walk to the house, and Harry was going to drop in later just to make sure they were okay. He had worked out that he would mainly live at Hogwarts, but he would spend a few nights at the house with his sister. Minerva also planned to drop in on Jamie from time to time. She might be an adult now, but Minerva wanted to make sure the young woman was okay, and to remind Jamie that she had family she could count on.

Harry went on to become a potions master, and Severus wasn't surprised when Harry ended up with higher marks than he got when he sat for his masters. The moment he got his masters, Horace Slughorn retired and Harry was offered the position as potions teacher. He didn't hesitate, and took the job. He got to teach, which always hoped he would get to do (he just thought he would be a lot older before he could teach), and he got to live at Hogwarts with Severus and Aunt Mini. Right after he finished his N.E.W.T.s and was no longer a normal student, he moved into Severus' rooms and it didn't take long before everyone found out that Harry and Severus were living together. Right after Harry became a master, he and Severus married in a small private ceremony that was held at Hogwarts.

Jamie surprised everyone when she went on to play professional quidditch. She had been spotted by scouts during her last year, she ended up playing for the Holyhead Harpies alongside her boyfriend's sister, Ginny Weasley.

Jamie and George went on to marry two years later, right after Hermione and Ron got married. Jamie had asked Harry to give her away, which he did.

Harry and Jamie never saw or heard from their parent's again. Harry's marriage to Severus ended up front page news, but so did Jamie's, yet they never heard from them, not that either of them wanted to. To this day no one has any idea what happened to James and Lily Potter.

Harry went on to carry four children. Severus had offered to carry one of their children so Harry could have a break. But Harry said he just loved the feeling he got from their child growing inside him. There wasn't one thing he didn't like about being pregnant.

When Minerva retired from teaching, Harry became deputy head, and head of Gryffindor house. Severus and Harry's children all ended up in Ravenclaw, which surprised both men. They never said which house they thought their children might end up in, and it didn't worry either of them which house they got sorted into.

When Harry and Severus decided to retire, which wasn't until they were both over one hundred. It was written that Severus Snape ended up one of the most popular headmasters Hogwarts had ever seen. Harry Potter was already loved by almost everyone, but he also was known as one of the best teachers Hogwarts ever had. During their retirement, both men decided to write their biographies. They both felt it would be best written by them than for others, who could get facts wrong. They also didn't want anyone to write books on them after they died, which could be filled with lies. Everyone would know these books would be full of truth and facts since they were written by Harry and Severus.

The two men died on the same day, surrounded by their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The wizarding world still celebrated the day Harry Potter ended Voldemort. Now on the day he died along with his husband, the world mourned the saviour, but they also mourned his lifelong partner.

A thousand years passed and the statue of Harry Potter still sat on the grounds of Hogwarts and still received visitors every year on the anniversary of the death of Voldemort. Because of what had taken place during Harry Potter's years at Hogwarts, the wizarding world wanted to make sure it was never forgotten, and the statue was that reminder of what happened and what it took to end the dark years.

It had been more than a thousand years since the Battle of Hogwarts, the wizarding world was at peace, and it still was to this day.

The end:
