It's official. I am absolutely, completely, irreversibly a geek. Doctor Who, you guys. I am writing for Doctor Who now.
This drabble could fit with the Star Trek Reboot too; I just chose to put it under the TOS category. It's whichever you want to imagine.
Also I saw Gaius in one of the DW episodes tonight. He was also a physician there. Just speaking of universal constants.

Universal Constants

"Engineering to Bridge!"

"What is it, Scotty?"

"Captain! There's a strange man down here! I've never seen him before, and he's not in any color of uniform, but he's up underneath one of the consoles with some sort of strange, glowing device that I don't recognize at all; he admits you didnae give him permission but that I should inform you that he calls himself 'The Doctor' before I have him collected by Security. What are your orders, sir?"

"...Stand down, Mr. Scott. Everything's all right."

"But, sir-!"

"Don't worry, Scotty. The ship is in good hands. Let the Doctor know that I'd like to see him on the Bridge when he's finished."

"Aye, sir, if you're certain."

"I am, Scotty. The Doctor is…an old friend, and almost as good as you are at working with computers; I'm sure he knows what he's doing. And if Spock is still down there somewhere, please tell him to report to the Bridge as well. I have the very strong feeling that they'll get along."

"I'll do it, Captain."

"Oh, and Scotty."

"Yes, sir?"

"Please spread the word amongst the lower decks that, should a large blue box be found somewhere down there…ignore it."

"If you say so, sir."

Admittedly I'm only on episode 11 of season 1, so in case you were wondering, Nine is the Doctor I'm thinking of in this.
