Hi guys! It's been a while huh? Well I'm back with a new HP laptop (sorry I'm on wordpad which has NO auto correct so if something is spelled wrong please forgive me.) and I'm not going anywhere anytime soon! So this chapter may be a little short because it's mostly a filler before Naruto meets the council and they accept me. So sorry for the lack of action and stuff. And for those who don't like that I made Naruto have a weak moment in the last chapter well I respect your opinion but oh damn well. I am not about to make Naruto so overly powerful with girls running after him left and right. Though some may think he is too strong well with the father, mother, and uncle that Naruto has in this story it's no surprise that he is a prodigy just like or even Itachi. I will try to make this story realistically with realistic problems, physical growth, and relationship wise as well.

Oh and one of my readers made a good point. I think I put a scale for Naruto's power rating in chapter 3 and they said that he should at lease be S class and be able to beat Kakashi"s ass. Well let's just say that you can be the most powerful ninja in the world but if you don't have enough experience you won't be able to use it correctly. In this case Kakashi is a seasoned veteran who has been in Anbu and seen a lot of shit. Naruto on the other hand while may be strong doesn't really go on a lot of missions. He mostly spent his time helping his father and uncle with diplomatic work and training kids. So while he may be on the same strength level as Kakashi he doesn't have the same amount of experience.

Naruto x Hinata x Kushina! (Original Paring)

Sorry for those who wanted naruhina or narukushi! If I lost you as a reader because of this then please forgive me. BUT I do have a two stories with just those two I'm working on. The narukushi fanfiction is a Naruto ROOT ANBU fic and the Naruhina is a fic when Naruto is the decendant of ZEUS the god of lighting in Greek Mythology. So be on the look out for those. When they will be released... well when I'm almost done with this. When that will be well idk.

Anyway one last thing is even if you didn't get the paring you wanted you won't see much of it. It is just really a subplot so it's not a big deal. Plus you won't see anything major until Shippuden because I don't see how thirteen year old ninja kids can worry about relationships when their really just trying to stay alive in the cruel shinobi world.

Chapter 4- Resolve

The sun was just starting to creep over the horizon and was just beginning to shine it's rays on Konoha. Sarutobi Hiruzen was one of the few that was up so early with a reason. That reason was to check up on Naruto so he could make sure he was ok. He walked the long wooden staircase up the side of the Hokage mountain to where the Senju compound was located on top of it. Doing the time it took for him to walk upstairs he pondered yesterday's events. His first thought when he saw Naruto was that somehow someone was able to get information on him and pretended to be him. But when he saw the oh so familiar stances and jutsu he used he automatically knew it was him. The thought of finding him after so long made him act very unlike a Hokage. He knew that he would have to dish some punishment out. After all Naruto did kill a few of Konoha ninja which was a BIG no no.

Reaching the top of the stairs he stared out a the Senju compound and nearly gasped in surprise. The once decomposed desolate compound was overrun with clones who were cleaning and making repairs to the compound. Sarutobi knew that Naruto being a Uzumaki he had very large chakra reserves but still seeing the amount of clones was really shocking. He was snapped out of his shock when a clone tugged on one of the long white sleeves of his Hokage robes.

"Hey old man! If your looking for boss he's in training ground in the back of the house!" The clone then left and ran off to another group of clones who were repainting the house. The Sandiame ignored the jab at his age and went through the house to get to the back. Just like the outside the house was overrun with clones who were cleaning, dusting, and painting.

Sarutobi finally arrived to the back door of the large compound and walked out and his eyes widened considerably. He saw more clones, which in itself wasn't a surprising thing since he just saw so many, but it was what they were doing that stunned them. There were over sixty clones training in different aspects of being a ninja. Ten were doing Ninjutsu, ten were doing Taijutsu, five trying to do Genjutsu (mostly failing), five were meditating and absorbing nature energy so he assumed that they were doing Senjutsu, there was ten doing multiple chakra control exercises, and finally ten studying the art of Fuuinjutsu.

"Hey old man, why the surprised face never seen this many clones before?" Naruto said snickering after popping up out of nowhere nearly scaring the elderly man to death. Hearing the age crack again a tick mark appeared on his forehead and he smacked Naruto right on the head. Naruto let out a loud groan and glared at Sarutobi.

"You shouldn't disrespect you elders Naruto-kun. It's not good." Hiruzen said slightly teasing making Naruto glare at him even more. Hiruzen let out a chuckle and childishly mused Naruto's hair making him growl.

"So Naruto aren't you tired from making all these wood clones?" Sarutobi asked going back into Hokage mode. He needed to know just how much of his abilities had Naruto hidden from him.

"Actually there not all wood clones. The ones working on the house are wood clones because their more sturdier and don't dispelled as easily. While the ones back here are Shadow clones because even though they get dispelled easily I can learn from them since every time they do get dispelled I get their memories shorting the time that I have to learn a jutsu in half. And as for me being tired I'm really not." Naruto said nonchalantly. Sarutobi looked down at Naruto even more surprised.

While he knew the secrete of the shadow clone jutsu he didn't expect Naruto to. Nor did he expect him to be able to sustain two large chakra absorbing jutsu's at once.

'He surprises me more and more every time.' The Sandiame thought fondly.

"Well why do you want to get strong in such a short amount of time. You just really got back." Hiruzen said quizzically. Naruto's face went blank and he stared off into the distance.

"I'm the only one left of my family. Because of this many people will be after me and my family name, so I have to be strong in order to protect myself." He said quietly. Hiruzen looked at him with sad eyes and nodded in understanding. Though he decided to keep the information that Naruto's niece Tsunade was actually very much alive, to himself.

"Well, I will do everything in my power to help you."

Short Time Skip Later!

"Naruto you do know your going to have to pass a certain amount of tests before you can become a ninja again right?" Hiruzen asked while he looked at the young man who was sitting in front of his desk.

"Yes and I am more than willing to complete them." Naruto said. Hiruzen nodded his head in an approving manner.

"Well, Naruto I hope you know that your going to have to start off as a genin." Hiruzen said in a calm tone. Naruto's face took on a surprised look before quickly turning to anger.

"What?! Why the hell do I have to be a genin when I am clearly jounin level?!" Naruto roared outraged by the fact that he has to be demoted to a mere genin when he was actually a elite jounin. Hiruzen let out a loud sigh and stared at Naruto with a slightly cold look.

"One because you have been gone for over fifty years. You have missed a lot of our history and the new teachings and systems the village has not only that but your fifty years behind in power and do need to get back in shape. Two imagine how suspicious it would look when you, a stranger comes into the village and automatically gets a jounin rank. The council would be all over me because I let you, and because you killed several of our ninjas. And three, I am the Hokage I do what I think is best for the village and for it's occupants. Me allowing you to have a jounin rank would put not only you in extreme danger but this whole village as well if someone were to find out about your bloodline. Now think about it, am I really all that wrong."

Naruto sat there stunned into silence. Everything Hiruzen had said was absolutely true and he hadn't even thought about it that way. Naruto hung his head in shame at his idiocy. Having a father as a Hokage should have let him know that all Hiruzen was trying to do was protect him and the village. Not try to screw him over.

"Your right, I apologize Hokage-sama." Naruto said in a calm tone. Hiruzen looked at Naruto with an sympathetic look and sighed.

"You don't have to call me that Naruto. But please understand where I'm coming from. I really am trying my best with you so please work with me." Naruto looked at Hiruzen and just really saw how old and weary he looked.

The Hiruzen back when he was in his time was youthful, and bright. This was someone who had seen many horrors and had given up some much for the village that he still led today.

"I understand... Hiruzen. All I ask is I be able to keep my family name. It's all I have left of my love ones." Naruto said in a calm voice. Hiruzen looked at him and weighed his options. Finally after a while he nodded.

"You can keep your family name. But you still have to talk to the council about it. Though the final decision is mine. Is that okay?" Hiruzen said. Naruto nodded and gave him a small smile.

Outside the tower

Naruto walked down the road with his hands in his pockets. He noticed that a lot of people were staring at him. He couldn't help but chuckle. Something's about Konoha would never change. Here everybody knew each other so if you were new you would stick out like a sore thumb. Naruto all of a sudden smelled something that made his empty stomach growl.

He looked up and saw a sign that said "Ichiraku Ramen". Shrugging Naruto walked through the thin curtain that separated it from the outside. Naruto went and sat on one of the stools at the counter and waited. He observed that there was two people working in the kitchen. One was a young women with brown eyes and brown hair that was tied back out of her face. He also saw an older gentlemen about the same age as Hiruzen who was cooking noodles. The women looked up and noticed him and gave him a bright smile.

"Hi! My names Ayame and this is my father Teuchi, and we will be serving you this evening. Now what do ya' want?" Ayame chirped while looking at Naruto curiously. She couldn't remember ever seeing him before.

"Umm... I think I'll take a bowl of Miso ramen please." Naruto said. Ayame gave him another bright smile before yelling out the order to her father.

"If you don't mind me asking are you new here" Ayame asked. Naruto looked at her and couldn't sense any malicious intent coming from her so he told her he was. She grinned and asked him has he took a tour of the village yet and he lied and said he has.

"Ayame stop pestering the poor boy." An deep voice chuckled. Naruto looked up and saw it was the older man who Ayame had introduced as Tuechi.

"Here you go son! You first bowl of Ichiraku's special Miso ramen." The man said good naturedly. Naruto couldn't help but grin at the exuberant attitude that the two had. Picking up the chopsticks he said a quick "Itadakimasu" and dug in.

Bright flavors exploded his mouth making him groan in ecstasy. The ramen had the perfect blend of spices and flavors that made the ramen just right. Ayame and Tuechi who had been watching him let out laughs as their saw his facial expressions. Naruto let a light pink ting color his cheeks as he pouted at the two and began eating his noodles. He couldn't help the bittersweet smile that appeared on his face. He was jealous that he couldn't laugh like that with his father anymore. Ayame frowned slightly seeing the change in his demeanor.

"Hey... what's got you so sad?" She asked him quietly. Naruto looked up from his bowl in shock. He couldn't believe that a stranger really cared about him. Narrowing his eyes he looked at her with a calculating glare. Seeing that she was sincere he sighed and told her. Of course leaving out the time travel part and the names of his family members. He didn't trust them that much yet.

About time he was done with his tale Ayame had tears in her eyes and Teuchi had a somber aura surrounding him. But one thing that neither of them had that Naruto was extremely grateful was the pitying or sympathetic looks.

"Well... I don't think I could ever understand what your going through but my mother died when I was young as well. Me and my mother were coming back from short vacation when the carriage we were riding in was suddenly attacked by bandits. My mother died right in front of me defending me. I know your mother died as well but at least your mother died happy and had at least written you some last words. My mother didn't get to say goodbye and she didn't die a peaceful death. So cheer up. I think you should use those last words that your family gave you and move on and make them proud. I really don't think that they would like you suffering and sulking." Ayame finished while giving him a teary smile.

Naruto, for the second time today, was stunned into silence. He turned to Tuechi who was giving him a smile as well. Naruto chuckled to himself and gave them both bright smiles. He knew then that this was going to be the start of a beautiful friendship between the three of them.

"Yea your right! Now Tuechi-san why don't you give me two more bowls! I'm starving!" Teuchi laughed and Ayame teased Naruto about him becoming a ramen addict. Which made him laugh.

When Naruto left with his stomach full of eight bowls of ramen and his wallet slightly lighter he was in a great mood. Looking at the Hokage monument, one of the few things that hadn't changed much, he made a new promise to himself.

He would protect the village that his mother, father, uncle, and brother died protecting. And to do that he would become the Hokage!

Woop I'm done! I hope you guys like this chapter. To me this was sorta touching and needed to happen. Naruto needed to make new bonds so he would have something to protect. I know some of you are angry that Kushina and Hinata hasn't shown up yet but they will in the next chapter! So be on the look out for them.

Okay time to clear up something's.

There is no Minato! (Though he will be appearing in a well planned sequel and at the end of this.) The fourth Hokage was Tsunade's little brother Nawaki. So that means that Tsunade only left the village 12 years ago. Naruto is a year older than the rookies but will be with their class since the class with his age group already graduated.

So I hope you guys vote on the poll because chapter six is when the actual action begins. I also encourage those who didn't get the paring they wanted to continue reading. There won't be much of the parings until WAY later anyway.

Also some would ask about me explaining Ayame mother's death. Well both Teuchi and Ayame are severely underdeveloped characters with no background so I decided to give them some.
