Well, guys, my first fairy tale and AU is complete. It was actually more popular than I had hoped. I hope you enjoyed and thanks to everyone who read and reviewed.
It was Jeremy's last day in the castle. Since he already had the answer to the King's problem, and didn't want to put that at risk, he decided to stay on his toes, and avoid most of the princesses today and tonight. The last thing he had to do was finally give Isabella her note from Phineas and Ferb, and reveal to her that he had been working with them the entire time. He finally caught her just after dinner and before she ascended up to the tower.
"Hello, Princess Isabella." Jeremy said kindly.
Isabella turned red, being caught off guard. "Oh… hello Jeremy. Or should I call you Sir Jeremy?"
"No, Jeremy is cool." He replied.
"So… this is your last night, isn't it?" Isabella winced when she thought about Jeremy getting sentenced by her mentally unstable father. "Do you have your… explanation?" She asked quietly.
Jeremy smiled to himself. "I sort of know."
"Really?" Isabella said, surprised.
"Well, you kind of helped."
"Me?" She asked.
"You and a couple of boys I met." Jeremy added. He winked and slipped a piece of paper into her hand before heading off to his own bed.
Isabella frantically opened the note and read it. Two boys? Phineas and Ferb! He knew! Jeremy knew their secret! It had worked. An invisibility cloak, avoiding the wine… the guys had made it around the challenges just like how she had wanted. Now people would stop being killed and King Doofenshmirtz would finally shut up, as well as lose half his kingdom to Jeremy, who would probably be a wonderful king. And maybe the girls would finally be let out again. And she could go back to the village. And Ferb.
But Isabella wouldn't tell anyone. She would keep this from her sisters until Jeremy finally won tomorrow morning. It would surely be beneficial, no matter what Vanessa said.
So Princess Isabella uttered not one word as Jeremy road back and forth with her to the castle for the last time, as he collected a final branch from the diamond tree and prepared to reveal the truth.
"So, Jeremy…" King Doofenshmirtz circled him like an odd bird, as the girls stood off to the side in a straight line. "I have to ask you now… what do my daughters do every night?"
Jeremy gulped, but took a breath and said with conviction, "Every night the twelve princesses travel down a hidden staircase in their tower. It leads to a tunnel to the outside. They travel through forests of silver, gold, and diamonds, until they reach a lake with twelve princes and twelve boats. Then, they row to a castle, where they dance their shoes to pieces."
"You seriously expect me to believe that?" Doofenshmirtz said.
"Yes." Jeremy replied, and he pulled out the three branches.
The king stared wide-eyed at the shimmering branches. "Vanessa!" His eldest came forward. "Is this really true?"
Vanessa knew she had finally been beaten. "Yes, Dad, it is."
"You knew about all this; valuable trees, secret castles, magic stairs… And you didn't tell me?"
"I'm sorry Dad. But… I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without Monty." She said.
"Monty? Isn't he that guy who…?"
"King Monogram's son. Dad, I know you don't like him, but he's the one who led us to all of this. And, I love him." Vanessa finished.
"Vanessa," Doofenshmirtz paused. "I… I honestly think we will be able to work something out."
"Is that just because of all the wealth and magic you know they have now?" She asked shrewdly.
"Maybe."
Vanessa shrugged. "I'll take it."
Suddenly a platypus wearing a hat exploded out of a nearby wardrobe, in which he had apparently been trapped. Jeremy and the princesses stared in surprise.
"Oh, Perry the Platypus." Doofenshmirtz said. "How inconvenient. And by that, I actually mean completely convenient! You can go tell King Monogram about my desire to unite Prince Monty and Princess Vanessa in marriage."
Perry dropped his fighting stance and nodded, before zipping out of the room.
"Yay!" Vanessa and several of the princesses cheered.
"Anyway," Doofenshmirtz turned. "Jeremy, you won. So you get all my fabulous prizes. You all the gold you could ever want and you now become my heir. And…" He said a little more reluctantly, "One of my daughters as a bride. So…"
"Candace." Jeremy said, a little faster than his own brain could process it. "I choose Candace." He said a little slower.
"Why?!" Someone said incredulously.
"Hey!" Candace cried. "You're ruining my fairytale moment!" She rushed up to Jeremy. "Yes! I do!"
"Well," Doofenshmirtz shrugged. "I'll get you four all wed. I guess we're done here."
"Actually," Jeremy said. "I have to say something. I would never have won this challenge without the help of two people."
"AAHH! Put us down!" Phineas cried, as he and Ferb were forcibly carried by Norm up to the castle. He sighed. "Well, Ferb, bro, I guess this is it. Do you think he wants to execute us along with Jeremy? Goodbye cruel world!"
"Here you go, your majesty!" Norm said, before dropping the boys hard on the ground.
"Ow." Phineas said. Ferb nodded in agreement.
"Hi." They turned to see King Doofenshmirtz. They were almost scared, until they saw Jeremy and the princesses smiling away. "So I hear you two helped crack the Princesses' mystery? With an invisibility-inator or something?"
"Let's go with 'or something'." Ferb responded.
"Why?" Phineas asked.
"Well… Jeremy, ruler of half the kingdom and my new heir, wanted you two to get a reward too. So, whatta want?"
"I want…" Phineas paused. "I want enough money to help me invent and do as much as I can. Is that ok…"
"Done." Doofenshmirtz said. Clearly he wasn't so worried about funds now that he knew about gold and diamond trees under his castle. "And you?" He pointed at Ferb.
Ferb took just a few steps and held out his hand. And someone took it.
"Awww! He wants Isabella!" The girls cooed.
"Yes." Isabella said softly. And she knew that was the answer she wanted to give him.
So Jeremy finally had a home and a wife, Phineas finally had some funds, Monty and Vanessa finally had each other, the girls finally had freedom, and Isabella finally had a real friend and love in Ferb. And finally, the kingdom was once again amazing.
"What about me? Doofenshmirtz? What do I finally get?"
Uh… King Doofenshmirtz finally realized that he didn't need to be evil to be respected and lived a long happy life with his family and new friends.
"Hey… what do you get?"
That's my sweet Phinny boy, looking out for others. Well, I finally got some lip balm before I end the story and go to sleep.
So... they all lived happily ever after!
