He ran feeling utterly free for the first time. The grass under him was soft and lightly damp. His small lungs expanded as he took deep breaths of forest fresh air. The tabby still couldn't believe he was about to give himself the freedom he so longed for. The sight before him gave him more courage to kept running, the forest was so close. His silver eyes sparkle happily as the lust green color surrounded everything around him. He felt so alive at the moment, but as he got closer to his desired place the small kitten got struck by a sudden memory of some time ago.
He remembered the day when he first met the man who took him in, and became his new Master.
It was raining.
A pouring rain to be specific. In the lone, cold and wet night a small figure ran. Blood was left behind as the small mount kept moving, but the crimson on the flood got easily washed away, leaving nothing in its awaking. The small creature sprint forward as fast as he could, even when he limped the entire time. His heart rammed against his small chest painfully.
He had to keep moving.
Danger lay behind so he didn't stopped. The small tabby feared he would suddenly collapse, and if he did it would be the end for him. His will greater than his pain, and so the small animal didn't gave up. If the savage attack from two dangerous hounds didn't kill him, then nothing would stop him until he felt save. In the dark rainy night the small feline kept going.
Time sadly wasn't on his side.
His body ache more than he could think he could handle. His pace against his wish slower and the tabby felt so very weak, yet he refuse to stop. The pounding of the cold water didn't bother him, but his wounds did. He was losing too much blood and as a result his body demanded rest. He fought against it and with all of his might kept running further away. He didn't know where he was going, only knowing to follow his instinct. The feline kept moving to the direction his senses told him, and that was forward.
Blindly guided by his desire to live.
In his haste the small animal didn't notice the area where he had venture. He was unaware of the black iron gates he slipped under. It was dark and the heavy raindrops blurred his sense of smell, hear and see. He could only relay in his inner sense. Then he notice the rain wasn't attacking him so strongly anymore. A few drops hit his wet fur, but it was lighter. His head turn up and he saw tall thick tress everywhere. The countless leaves above shield him somewhat of the pouring rain. His steps become slower and the small tabby thought he could find refuge where he was and he decided to look for somewhere it wasn't wet. He ran a little further, but to his misfortune his body rebelled and the small feline came crushing down
Heart pounding, blood began to paint the ground.
The rain once again hit down at his body harshly. Out off all the places he could have landed it was in a clearing. His body crying out in agony, and his motive of moving slowly leaving him behind. He was going to die and he knew it. Yet deep inside he was glad. Freedom at last for all the suffering he went throughout his life until his death. The only thing he regretted greatly was to die alone, in some unknown place.
The unforgiving rain slowly died down.
He laid on the cold and wet ground. His breathing coming out slowly, his body finally felt numb. It was better his way he thought. He was unmoving as his eyes open to the clarity of the glistening forest. The moon was peeking out of the once dark clouds he concluded as his vision was brighter than earlier. His head slowly turn up and he was able to see the celestial sphere circle he so long to see one last time. The moon was big and it shone like it had never did before. He was happy then, at least he had that memory before he left. His head went back to the ground and he let his eyes shut. The end was coming he felt it. In a brief thought, he wonder once the land took his body away, would a little flower grow where he lay? Was it possible for him to leave some sort of evidence he once walked upon this lands? He was wishful and deep down hope it would.
A hard wind blow over the land on that night.
His small body shivered, and he thought he couldn't feel anymore. That sudden breeze went straight through his fur, skin, muscles, bones and up to his soul. Maybe that wind was death's whisper that it was coming. He welcome it though, it meant happiness and peace would finally greet him. He lay waiting until the land under him tremble. It startle him, but too weak to move didn't pay attention to it at all. The tabby was still down when the trembling continue before his little ears twitch. That trembling wasn't just anything, they were footsteps.
Was it death?
Will all of his energy left the small feline manage to lift his head and saw the shadow that loomed over him. It wasn't a tree, but a human figure. His heart picked up speed then, fear wrapping tightly around his heart. He was found, the human he ran away from found him. He wanted to cry for all of his efforts were for nothing. However, in his deepest despair the tall figure lower down and a hand gently touched the wet wounded creature. He would have fought, but the tabby felt safe somehow because he knew this human wasn't the one he feared. Maybe he was imagining things. Maybe life was finally giving him hope? To live and probably to be loved once more.
Hope bloomed in his heart.
"You're safe now, rest."
The tabby believed in the stranger's voice. Never before in his life he wanted– No he needed to believe. His eyes unable to stay open finally lower. Maybe help came too late–
"Meow!"
Ouch!
The small bundle collided harshly with something solid instantly cutting him from his past, and he bounce back to the ground as a result. He quickly shook his head and his eyes immediately saw what appeared to be a boot clad leg. Silver feline eyes slowly went up the leg and after he analyze every inch he met the sight of the gardener. The man was looking at him at first before the human lower down and picked him up.
"Sorry there kitten. Didn't see you dashing around-"
"Kitty!"
Miko cried out from behind getting both the man and tabby's attention. The woman was running to them and before long she had the little bundle in her arms. The small cat saw the gardener watching them as he shook his head. How was it that he didn't see that man went he was running?
I was thinking too much not to notice him.
The tabby regretfully pointed out. For being in his musing he lost the opportunity to see the forest once again. The gardener and Miko exchanged words and before long he was once again inside the house. The woman who took care of him was on the phone the next minute. She was talking quietly on the phone as the tabby lay on his cushion, but he didn't have to ponder much with who Miko was talking to.
"–yes Master, until then."
There's only one Master after all.
He thought somewhat dreading the arrival of his Master. He did disobey the man after all. The tabby was sure his master wouldn't hurt him, but he still knew the man would be disappointed in him. He wonder briefly what type of punishment he would get this time.
=0=
It was night time once again. The small feline watch his Master move around the bedroom. He was still waiting for some type of punishment from the man, but his Master didn't seem at all to be plotting or be thinking about something. The only thing the tabby got when his Master return home was a 'Bad Moyashi' and that was all. However he couldn't let it go because his little gut told him to never underestimate his Master for a second. The tabby sat on his cushion a few feet way from the bed, where he would most likely sleep any other day, except today.
He once again tune out the real world in favor of being distracted by his thoughts. The small cat didn't see his Master round him, or sense the silk that wrapped around his little neck. When he finally felt something it was too late. The tabby jumped the moment he felt and heard something very close by. He search around and saw his Master sitting in from of him with his legs cross and watching him with a pleased expression.
Chime!
There it was again that noise. He frantically looked around until he glance down. There! Under him was a round shiny ball. The tabby reach for the sphere with a paw and the round thing did that same sound as before. He tried to get the bell like thing away but it was stuck to him. Better yet it was around his neck thanks to a red like silk securely around him. The surprising thing was he could breathe easily but it still bothered him. The feline was use to having nothing hold on to him before, but apparently he just discover his punishment. It was rather mean he thought, but then again as long as his daily fresh salmon wasn't replace with can-tuna again then he could handle the situation he reassured himself. Maybe he could get out of it.
Chime...
... Chime!
By the time he gave up with the annoying bell he was making his way to his Master who still sat in front of him. The tabby slowly lift himself up using his back legs and his paws held the man's knee as support. He stared up at his Master with his pleading wide eyes for the young man to get the noisy thing off from him. He by himself couldn't he realize and he can only ask for help.
"Mew!"
Please get it off me!
The man being looked at by those deep silver hues fought against his desire to do as those eyes wanted. His kitten needed to learn to listen to him first. When Kanda said something he expected to be obeyed. He wasn't paranoid about his kitten leaving him, but Kanda didn't want anything happening to the little bundle. The raven knew he was being strict, but loosing his Moyashi wasn't an option.
"Meow!"
Master please!
"Sorry Moyashi, but until you learn to listen to me I wouldn't take it off." With that being said the young man gave his pet a reassuring pat before he got ready for bed. It was getting quite late and he was tired after the days events. As the raven haired male was getting ready for bed he didn't notice he was leaving a small kitten with a vengeance behind.
Alright Master if you want it that way, I can be just as cruel as you.
Silence.
Some time later the white deviant feline found himself still wide awake. He wasn't about ready to stay still and let his Master get away with putting the annoying thing around his neck. The small tabby couldn't properly lay his head down because the little round thing under him was uncomfortable. He kept himself busy watching the young man move around in the bed until he was sleeping. The feline knew he was about to do something his Master might not like.
He asked for it.
Ten minutes pass before the tabby was ready to go ahead with his plan. He slowly rose from the cushion and began to take cautious steps in the dark room. He was by the bed in no time and glance up the mattress. His Master was sleeping and the kitten knew better than to disturb the young man's sleep. This night however it was exactly want he was planning to do. Since he wouldn't sleep with the sphere around his neck then his Master wouldn't either. He was on a mission to disturb this peaceful night as much as he can with the help of his little noisy bell.
Chime!
The kitty took his first step. He quickly notice that if his footing was heavy on the floor, the ball under him would give out a louder ring. He develop a patter a minute later as he took three steps then stopped before taken three more. Yet he wasn't having the response he wanted and so he just went out of his away to do as much noise as possible with the bell. He went from walking longer, to bouncing around and finally to just sprinting wildly every where. He was enjoying himself greatly knowing it was simply to get his Master up.
Chime!
Chime!
Chime!–
"Moyashi."
That dangerous edge of annoyance in the voice made the tabby abruptly stop. Maybe he went to far?
Nope, not enough.
Chime!
Chime!
Chime!
Chime!
Chime!–
"Moyashi!"
Alright, I think I got his attention.
He went back to his Master's side. He saw the young man sitting on the mattress looking at him. The feline sat on the ground and called out to his Master then. His soft meow of innocent creature not knowing what he was doing left his little mouth. Soon after the man picked him up from the scruff of his neck and the tabby was put down on a lap.
"You won't stop until I get the bell off am I right?" Kanda wonder looking at his kitten.
"Mew!"
Exactly Master, exactly.
"I will remove it, but you have to do as I say... otherwise I won't next time." It was not a threat to his feline but a promise. With that said Kanda began to detach the silk along with the bell around his kitten. The moment the small bell was off he saw the tabby sake his head and then began to rub against Kanda showing his appreciation.
"Now sleep Moyashi"
By the end of the night the two were in a dark and peaceful room. No more jingles of a bell to disturb them.
The next day was rather surprising. He was outside by the pond with Miko. It was past noon and they enjoyed themselves outside as Miko fed the Kois and the tabby simply watched. He was happy to be out once more, and the incident with the bell didn't bother to surface in his mind. His Master got rid of the bell for now, but it was kept somewhere the young man could find it if the kitten did something wrong again.
Miko was sitting next to the pond as the kitten's attention went to the small grasshopper not to far from him. His instinct was to pounce and so he did. He leaped as far as he could but at the same time the grasshopper jumped away. The feline began to chase after the tiny insect very thrilled about the hunt but stopped when Miko called out to him. When he looked back at the grasshopper it took off flying instead.
There went my new friend.
His little ears lower down. Fun was hard to find in the mansion but when he did found it didn't last long. He was ready to return to the woman when a little rustling in a bush just next to him got his attention. He stared at the medium bush right besides a tree. The kitten was about to leave it alone not thinking too much about it, but the sudden movement that caught his eye was enough to make him get closer to inspect.
One step way from the brush and the kitten halt. His eyes and ears did all the work and before long he pounced. He landed softly on the other side of the bush. In his paws was the thing that made his curiosity peak. He was in a steady form and slowly he took a peek inside his paws. He tilted his head when he saw what he capture.
An acorn?
He was rather surprise with what he got, but then the kitten's eyes sparkled a second later. Apparently today was turning out to be an amazing day.
A/N: Don't stone the author please!
So yeah, a new chapter after all this time! Sorry my dear readers but time I cannot find! It frustrates me a little because after all the messages I got asking for this story and my other Yullen ones, I felt really bad.
If I had the time, trust me, more chapters would be up. Unfortunately I lack time! *Tears*
Hopefully this chapter makes up for my absences. I don't know if anyone is still interested in the story, but since I found the chapter in a file I thought might as well post it. I still don't know when I'll post another chapter for Feline Love or my other stories, (The way of Life. and Bonded to You.) but you can kept a look out for any of them. And lastly to answer a question a few of you guys had. No the tabby in his human form doesn't have cat ears or a tail. Yet?
Thanks to everyone who had left a review and the ones sending me very lovely PMs. It means a lot for me and it gets me going. Promise to continue this story and the other ones.
Later.
