You just have to be really careful with verb tenses that you use and try to be consistent and widen your vocabulary further and you'll be a fine writer. :) I like the way you describe the actions; you can easily visualize what was actually happening.

And just to make sure since you said Allen is a tabby cat, we're talking about a cat with stripped fur coat right? :D
