Below them was Pluto, the smallest world of the Solar System. For Humanity, it would be their last sight of their native system. And if they came back it wouldn't be there. During Thousands of years, humanity was the dominant specy on Earth, and because of a few xenophobics leaders, they had lost everything in a century. Why couldn't they have let the nonhumans hide like they had done for a thousand of years.
« Admiral ! Another Lycan ship has passed the blockade ! » came running a communication officer.
« Curse them ! Tell the blockade to hold on ! Once we are done here it won't be long before the Vampire's Necroships come. Their Leechlaser will take care of the Lycans while we escape. »
A little parenthesis on Earth

And with that Humanity left the Solar System condemned to wander in the Void until they found a new home far from the nightmare of the past.

Five hours later on Pluto, at 200 000 kilometers from Mercury
« RUN, WE'VE GOT TEN MINUTES BEFORE THE HEAT BURN EVERYTHING ON THIS FACE OF THE PLANET. » screamed a Vampire in black to his nine followers.
« THEN DO SOMETHING LIKE HELPING US TAKE THESE THINGS TO THE SHUTTLE OR BETTER HELPING LUNA KEEPING ITS FRIENDS AWAY ! » screamed one who was carrying a giant ? bee ? crab ? bug ? fongi ?
« GUYS, I'VE ONLY ON CHARGER LEFT » screamed a third.

The scene was repeatating itself on nine different location of the planetoïd.

Pluto was crashing into the sun and in a few seconds was devored by the flames.
« I hope you've taken movies guys because we are so not doing that again. »
To this day, it has never been revealed why the Alliance has bombarded Mars and sent Pluto into the sun.

For six months the colonies are ravaged by hordes of Lycans until the Alliance sent a fleet against them. The independantist movement gains ground in the colonies.

Led by Arcturus Mengsk, leader of the independantist movement, 25 colonies declare their independance. The Civil War began.

After the death of Arcturus Mengsk, the leadership of the Independantist fell to General James Raynor. But only 11 colonies were still in rebellion. They were losing the war.

During a mission, Sarah Kerrigan was forced to eject from her ship. Her capsule was attracted by a Mass Relay and sent into the unknow…
'Another unhabited planet.' While they didn't have the Mass Effect like the Humans and couldn't join the other side of the galaxy in a few hours, their way of FTL was less limited and allowed greater colonizatio. But it wasn't the reason of this expedition.
It had been 60 years since the last human ships was seen. Contrary to her mother, she was convinced that they had to make peace with the Humans, there were enough threats in the Void as it was.'
« Princess we are getting a detress signal ! It's english ! » said the communication officer.
« Find the origin of the signal and see how we can help them. » said she before starting to go to her chamber. 'Finally, it seems there is hope, even in the void.'
A few hours later
« So this is the first human seen in 60 years. Well, you do honor to your race. » said the First princess. 'The poor girl is terrified, well being alone in a fleet of people who can only drink blood, who exiled your specy from its homeworld and can turn you into one of them with a single drop of blood, will do that I guess.'
« Thank you for your help, ma'am. But I need to go back to my people as quickly as possible. » replied the human.
« Yes, your little rebellion, » 'it's extraordinary that after being exiled from their homeworld, they're still fighting each others'. « I can help you, me and my fleet. »
« What is the price ? I don't know who you are but only the Children of the Empress or a Councillor could do that and even then why would you help us ? »
« My, my, you are very well informed. » said the princess watching the human smile. « Or we just didn't change in 60 years » the smile disappeared. « All I want is peace with Humanity and your colonies are my best bet. Before you say anything know that we searched your capsule and we know about the locations of all your colonies ».
Gritting her teeth the human could only said one thing : « I'll take you to my leader. »
2 months later
The space was full of blue, green and yellow lights. The blue were from the weak mass effect weapons of the Alliance and the yellow lights were their ships being destroyed one after another. The green light were from the vampires' ships (who looked exactly like the ships of that old vids, Star Wars or something like that). So far the only casualties for the vampires were fighters and for every one destroyed ten others took his place. They were losing in space and on the planet. If nothing was done, the Vampire and the traitors would be able to directly attack Shanxi. They didn't have the choice. His ancestors who died in Hundred years War were without a doubt rolling in their graves. None of them surrendered to the NonHumans. They all died fighting. But if he died then Humanity would fall, there was no doubt of that. Hackett was having his ass owned 5 Relays from here and all the others admirals were dead, with the ennemy or preparing Shanxi for the Second Great Exile.
A few minutes later
« To all units, I've reached an accord with the leader of the ennemy's fleet we surrender, the Alliance has lost. »

With their victory of the Civil War, 22 colonies declared their independance and become the Free Colonies. Admiral Williams was executed for high treason but nobody tried to break the peace. As for Princess Eve, this victory was also political, she defeated the Alliance, demonstrated that her new technology was better than the one used by most vampires and made peace with a large group of humans. From her city in Antarctica, she lead the second major faction of vampires, just after the Europeans.
James Raynor and Sarah Kerrigan are the first human in 61 years to set a foot on Earth.

The Relay 314 opens from the outside.
The Lycans reappear and destroy 55 colonies from the Alliance, the Nyx Empire and the Free Colonies.
