Epilogue:

November 2013: Hogwarts:

Ron Weasley was a happy man, he had never thought so many years ago he would be a professor at Hogwarts of all places! Yet here he was the history professor and loving every minute of it. It was not until he did a few travels with Hermione, the love of his life he got the history bug bad. Now he taught history and made it fun and interesting for the students. It was irony that he was here and not one of his other brothers. Things had changed at Hogwarts, Remus Lupin was the defense teacher still, the heads of houses had not changed but for Slytherin and the new head was Blaise Zabini of all people. No what had changed was who was the headmaster, with Dumbledore retired the next best choice had been one Severus Snape.

Ron was walking to Blaise office when headmaster Snape caught up to him. He was still clad in black, this time a frock coat and trousers tucked into highly polished black dragonskin boots. He had on dark green robes trimmed in purple and had his long black hair tied back. He was clean shaven but for hair on his chin that had grown into a beard he kept together in bands of metal. He was a fine figure of a man and as a wizard in the prime of his life at only fifty three years of age. Ron was clad in a navy suit, with red and gold tie and navy robes over that. He had polished boots on and was now wearing small glasses as he was a bit nearsighted and needed them now and was starting to go bald, not that Hermione minded.

On a hunch they entered a classroom where they saw a teen boy scrubbing cauldrons. The boy had very messy black hair, brown eyes he got from his mother and his father's build. This was James Sirius Potter and he was not a happy boy. Then again he should not have pulled the stunt he had in the great hall two nights ago. Blaise was clad in a purple suit with cream colored polo-necked sweater, his black hair cut close to his head, he was a very handsome man with dark brown nearly black skin, almond shaped eyes that were a deep dark brown and a tall lithe build. His black master's robes hung on a hook behind him and he was reading a book while his grading quill was hard at work grading papers next to him. Before anyone could say anything the door opened and Harry Potter stepped in.

"What are you doing here brat?" Severus asked.

"Is that anyway to talk to the head of the Auror department?" Harry said, then he saw James, "ah what happened?"

"Your son decided to sing and dance on the tables in the great hall to that appalling mundane you-tube video called 'What Does the Fox Say'." Severus said not looking amused, "you know of it?"

"Yes, Lily loves it." Harry said schooling his features to remain stern, he would not laugh, no his son had done wrong even if it was funny, "but that is not something to do in the great hall."

"He was in a fox costume and managed to get the rest of the great hall clad in animal costumes as well." Blaise said calmly.

"Ah, well." Harry said.

He took some careful deep breaths as he could not loose control now. No the image of his son with that epic of a prank, well it was one of the funniest things he had heard of in a long time. Severus knew he was going to loose it as some of the children said now and so led Harry into Blaise's office with Ron and Blaise where Harry did loose it after the silencing charms went up. Of course Ron explaining in detail what had happened did not help and Harry was howling in laughter in the end. The only thing that stopped him was Ron threatening to tell Ginny, Harry sobered up, he did not want James in trouble with Ginny, he could scrub cauldrons as it did build character. Schooling his features he walked back into the classroom and James looked up to see if his own dad could get him out of this mess.

"Dad it was funny! Can't see why I have a week detention when I was only trying to cheer up people!"

"Well you did break a few school rules son." Harry said, "and you know you have to obey the rules right?"

"Yea but it was funny! Charlus loved it he thought it was great fun!"

"You are to set an example for him and Hugo you know, they look up to you and you cannot be a bad example to them." Harry replied.

"Yes dad, I am sorry, mum does not have to know does she?" James asked pleading in his eyes.

"No, not this time." Harry said, "as long as you do a good job at your detention."

"Yes dad."

"What brings you here?" Severus asked Harry.

"Oh Remus wanted a memory for a class." Harry replied, "and I just wanted to see what Blaise was up to."

"Same ol' Harry, always want to annoy me." Blaise said the smile at his lips betraying him.

Harry's life had turned out very well. When Ginny had gradated from Hogwarts they had gotten married. A year later they had James Sirius Potter, a year and a half after that came Charlus Severus Potter-Black, two years later came Lily Potter, then a year later Rose Potter and finally Robert Arthur Potter-Evans. He was a happy man with a loving family and friends and could not wish for a better life. While James would be the Potter Heir and Charlus the Black Harry had made his youngest son the head of the new Evans family line in honor of his mother. This had gotten Molly as the last survivor of the Prewitt family to make Fred and George the head of the Prewitt family as the other brothers agreed that they would be best for that role.

Ron and Hermione had married and Harry had teased them (only once as he liked not getting hexed horribly) that they argued and made up so much they might as well get married and, well he never did finish that as they both hexed him. Ron had worked very hard and though he lived in Hogsmeade he had worked hard to buy a tall narrow town home that he had put a library in for Hermione. He had worked as an Auror and Hermione at first had worked in the Hogwarts library under madam Pince and earned her masters in research. Ron had been offered the history teacher job and Hermione worked as a researcher in the ministry and both were doing so very well. Sure they fought like cats and dogs but they did love each other dearly and would not think of being with any other. Hugo had just started Hogwarts and Rose would start in two years with Lily.

There had been a few dark witches and wizards rumored in America but as they had not, at this time done anything that could be traced, nothing could be done. A dark lord had been killed in China and two dark ladies in India, it was easy as most of the magical world wanted nothing to do with the evil that had been around for so long. It went back for centuries and though most of the darkness had been broken up by the sacrifice of Merlin's own life (there is a reason he is considered the greatest wizard in all the world) but there was still much darkness around. Now with the fall of Voldemort nearly twenty years ago the magical world was a brighter, freer place. The mundane world was starting to caught up but they had a bit to go.

"Knut for your thought?" Blaise asked Harry.

"As if Harry has two brain cells to think with." Severus countered.

"I love you too uncle Sev." Harry growled, "greasy git."

"I could make you scrub cauldrons."

"As if, I am head Auror!" Harry said, "you have to be nice to me!"

"I am headmaster of Hogwarts." Severus replied, "and you are still a brat!"

"Takes one to know one, wait we are not setting a good example." Harry said seeing his son was about to crack up laughing, "I was thinking how we have made the world a better place, but I wish we had not had to go through war to do that."

"How did Voldemort ever gain power like he did?" James said, "I mean the wall, oh, that wall is new, not even twenty years old right?"

"Yes, you do listen in my class." Ron said with a faint smile, "yes that is new, the goblins, dwarves, centaurs and others helped build it. It is still curing by the way."

"Cool, dad says he is lucky you found him in jail sir." James said, "told me his growing up years before Hogwarts were not good and what led to you finding him."

"Yes well though your father is a brat I care for him and child abuse is wrong and evil." Severus said, "a few whacks on the bum, standing in the corner or lines or a few extra chores do not hurt a child, but what was done to Harry was wrong, very wrong."

"He never whacked me on the bum, that was mum's job." James said, "corner is boring."

"Which is why you ended up in it more than not." Harry said, "back to scrubbing now, professor Zabini needs those cauldrons sparkling."

"Yes dad, you will come see me play on Saturday right?" James asked.

"Of course, would not miss it." Harry said.

Life was good now, so many years had passed since Harry was found by Severus bruised with a cast on a broken arm in a dingy jail cell in Surrey. He had grown to a fine young man in Severus's care, had helped fight a war against Voldemort and watched as Hogsmeade Vale became it's own lands behind high protective walls. Though the walls were not fully needed now they stayed with the gates open to the lands beyond. Light was spreading through the world, faster in the magical world at this moment and Harry smiled. He had a great life, a great family and nothing could be better than that could it?

The End.
