I don't own Harry Potter, Fullmetal Alchemist, Final Fantasy 7, A Certain Scientific Railgun, Fairy Tail, Sailor Moon, Legend of Zelda, and Naruto at all

A/N: alright, so this one I've been slowly kind of working on and this is still not its complete form, but I decided to post this version to give you an idea of what this is about. This one took me a long time to figure out what characters to use since I needed a right feel and balance for them all. I hope I did that.

The Potter Guard

By: Sheltie

Minerva McGonagall was in her office doing the last minute details that was needed before the new school year. She was so deep into her work that she jumped at the sound of a knock on her door.

"Come in" she said.

A woman walked in she had blond had that was clipped to the back of her head. She had reddish-brown eyes that were sharp and taking everything in. Her look was very stern and strict. McGonagall was a bit surprised and a part of her mind wondered where she had seen such a face though she'd recognize it if she'd look in a mirror.

"Are you Deputy Headmistress Minerva McGonagall?" the woman asked in a no nonsense kind of tone.

"Um yes, who are you?" McGonagall asked a bit off-put with the woman's behavior.

"My name is Riza Hawkeye and I am here for a charge of mine that might be attending this school" Riza said.

"And who is this charge?" McGonagall asked.

"Harry Potter" Riza said.

McGonagall's eyes widen hearing the name. She hadn't heard of anything from him since she saw him being dropped off on a doorstep all those years ago.

"My charge and I want to know what kind of security there is here" Riza said.

"For any security concerns then I must take you to the headmaster" McGonagall said.

Riza just nodded.

/Scene Break/

Dumbledore looked quite surprised. He was staring at the woman in front of him. He didn't know who this Riza Hawkeye was, but there was something about her that made him feel uneasy. He wasn't sure why though. It was as if her eyes pierced right through him like a bullet from a sniper rifle. McGonagall had brought her to him since Riza wanted to discuss security issues.

"Hogwarts is the safest place in our world" Dumbledore said with his trademark eye twinkle.

"That's nice, but those are just words. What kind of security is there here actually?" Riza asked in a no-nonsense tone.

"Hogwarts has the best wards that are only rivaled to Gringotts" Dumbledore said like he was reading from a tourist pamphlet.

"Again those are just words. I don't think you understand what I am asking. You can say you have the best protections, but it doesn't mean a thing unless they actually do its job. And as head of security for Harry Potter I'm not willing to place my trust in just words" Riza said firmly.

Dumbledore sat up hearing Harry's name. He was pretty sure Harry was still at his relatives. He glanced at the collection of baubles he had on a nearby table and they all seemed to be working properly. He then looked back at Riza and wondered how this woman knew of Harry and how she became in charge of Harry's safety. That was of course his job.

He decided to probe Riza's mind, but found a steel trap instead. He couldn't get through unless he really went at it and he didn't want to do that at the moment. There was also the fact that he was unsure he could penetrate those shields even if he got serious since it appeared this Riza woman had very strong shields. The strongest mental shields he had ever seen really.

"How do you know Harry?" the old wizard asked instead in a demanding kind of way.

"I was hired by the Potters to protect their son if something happened to them. My family, the Hawkeyes, have been protecting the Potters for many centuries" Riza said with pride.

Dumbledore frowned. He was unaware of the Hawkeye line at all. He hadn't even heard of it really. But there was so many magical lines some not as widely known as others. Plus the Potters like other very old families had their secrets that no one knows about. This of course troubled and annoyed him since he was a gather and hoarder of knowledge and when he didn't have information that he needed/wanted it irked him so since it brought so many variables he couldn't manipulate. And he liked to be in control.

"Harry Potter will arrive on September 1st, but won't be taking the train" Riza said.

"He must take the Hogwarts Express" Dumbledore said with insistence and a hint of demanding.

"He won't, it's too much of a security concern and I won't let my charge be in any harms way if I can help it" Riza said firmly.

Dumbledore slouched a bit. This wasn't good. He needed Harry on the train so he could meet those he had selected to befriend Harry and have a way to know what Harry did since he couldn't watch Harry all the time.

"Further more when he arrives to be sorted he'll have a small entourage of personal bodyguards. He'll be sorted and sit with his classmates, but will have his own quarters along with his bodyguards. Along with that some of his classes will be taught by tutors that he's been learning from before this" Riza said.

"I cannot allow that" Dumbledore said.

"Then Harry Potter shall not attend Hogwarts. I am sure we can find another European magical school that will accept our terms" Riza said as she stared Dumbledore in the eye without flinching.

McGonagall who sat there the whole time was shocked hearing this. Harry Potter not attending Hogwarts? There'd be riots in the streets. She had watched and listened to everything going on and couldn't really see any fault in what Riza wanted since she was doing it to protect Harry. He was the last Potter after all. That and she had never seen anyone really stand toe-to-toe with Dumbledore like this before.

As for Dumbledore he was seeing all of his plans he had carefully laid out for Harry go up in smoke if he didn't have him in his school under his influence. He had to have Potter here so he could manipu- guide him to the destiny he had laid out for the lad. There was no other way, it had to be this way. It was for the greater good after all.

"Harry must be at Hogwarts" Dumbledore said firmly.

"And why's that?" Riza asked stern tone.

"Because, because his parents would want their son to be at Hogwarts" Dumbledore said grasping for a reason.

"No, they'd want to be alive to raise their son, but since they can't then it's up to me to decide what's best for Harry" Riza said easily countering Dumbledore's excuse.

Dumbledore was thinking hard in trying to find a way to talk this Riza into bring Harry to Hogwarts. All of his plans hinged on it. He thought about using a compulsion charm or something on Riza, but he couldn't since McGonagall was right there in the room. That and he wasn't totally sure it would work on the woman. She didn't look to be the type to be easily swayed.

Then a voice was heard making three heads turn. On the top shelf was worn tattered hat. The Sorting Hat.

"Hogwarts accept these terms" the Sorting Hat said.

"But I am the headmaster" Dumbledore said looking at the Sorting Hat in disbelief.

"Yes that may be right headmaster, but Hogwarts knows why you need Harry Potter here" the Sorting Hat said as it peered down at Dumbledore.

Dumbledore frowned at this. While McGonagall looked curious.

"So to clarify Hogwarts has agreed to my terms?" Riza asked looking at the Sorting Hat.

"Yes that is correct Miss Hawkeye. Hogwarts was build to accommodate its students in whatever way possible to give them the best learning experience here possible. Sometimes there has to be special cases, such as Harry Potter" the Sorting Hat said.

Riza nodded and thanked McGonagall and the Sorting Hat before leaving.

McGonagall gave Dumbledore one last look before she left. This left Dumbledore with his head down his fingers weaving through his hair frustrated with what has just happened.

/Scene Break/

On September 1st the new first years had arrived and were anxiously awaiting to be sorted into one of the four great houses that were named after the four founders of Hogwarts. But before the first name could be called the huge doors of the Great Hall burst open. Standing in front was a woman with long red hair and brown eyes. She was wearing metal armor and a blue skirt with metal gauntlets on her hands that went up to her elbows. Her brown eyes scanned everything in the hall.

"It's all clear" she stated.

Soon a group came marching in. They seemed to be surrounding an individual. They were all dressed differently and that made everyone in the hall look at them with great curiosity and anxiety. This has never happened before.

"Sorry I'm late, but we got off to a very late start" the person in the center of the group said.

They stepped forward from the middle of the group revealing a mop of messy black hair, sparkling green eyes and the Potter smile. There was gasp as everyone in the hall knew who he was. The Boy-Who-Lived has finally arrived. On the Hogwarts Express there was rumors of Harry Potter not being there and that rumor grew and made many students old and new worried and scared. Seeing their savior standing there relieved them all. Not to mention Harry smiling like that oozing the genuine Potter charm made all the girls no matter their age swoon just bit.

Harry walked forward with the group, but then they split off with three going to the left and three to the right. The final two kept shadowing Harry as he walked to join the other first years.

Soon the sorting commenced and went on then Harry's name was called and the hall became so quiet that you could hear a mouse fart. He walked up and the Sorting Hat was placed on his head. After some deliberation the Sorting Hat proclaimed, "RAVENCLAW!"

Harry hopped off the stool and his two guards followed him and stood behind him as he sat down at the Ravenclaw table. The rest of the sorting went on though it was a bit muted due to this changes in the hall. Once the sorting ended the feast began with Dumbledore clapping his hands together to start the feast.

Harry looked at the food that was spread out and began to serve himself. No one at the table felt that they had the courage to speak first then one student decided to take the step.

"My name is Penelope Clearwater, I am one of the fifth year Prefects. If you need any help at all just ask" a young brunette said smiling.

"Nice to meet you Penelope, my name is Harry" Harry said smiling.

Penelope held out her hand for Harry to shake, but Harry took her hand and kissed it instead. This had Penelope's face flare up in a blush, since no one had ever done that before. Plus the fact that Harry flashed her a roguish Potter smile. This of course then broke the ice and the rest of Ravenclaw began to introduce themselves to Harry. A lot of them being girls since they wanted their hand kissed like Penelope, who was still staring at her hand. The guys didn't want to be left out and greeted Harry though there was no kisses on the hand for them.

Harry was polite to them all and answered some questions, but didn't reveal too much about himself. The glances up to Harry's two rear guards kept up through the feast as well as the guards around the hall. There was an uneasiness though nothing to really dampen the appetites of the students.

Soon the feast ended and Dumbledore stood and greeted the new students as well welcomed back the old. He gave out the usual reminders and warned all students not to enter the third floor corridor.

Harry rolled his eyes at this.

Is he trying to poke a sleeping bear he thought.

"Finally would Mr. Potter please see me in my office" Dumbledore said.

Harry sighed as he got up.

"What do we do?" one of his guards asked.

"Well we can ignore him, but I rather try and stay on neutral terms with him for now" Harry said.

"So we go?" the second asked.

"Yeah, we go" Harry said nodding his head.

So he and his two guards joined his others and waiting for him was a stern looking woman.

"Mr. Potter, I am professor McGonagall. I will bring you to the headmaster" the woman said.

"Are you my head of house ma'am?" Harry asked.

"No, I'm the head of Gryffindor house, but I'm the deputy headmistress and Transfiguration teacher" McGonagall said.

"I don't mind that at all ma'am, but I would like my head of house to be with us if you don't mind" Harry said politely.

McGonagall just nodded understanding that it wasn't any slight against her. She also understood Harry's reasoning too, it was quite sound.

"Wait here, and I'll get him" she said.

She returned with a man that was diminutive in stature, but you could tell he wasn't one to be trifled with or take his size as an issue.

"Mr. Potter, this is professor Flitwick. He's the head of Ravenclaw house and the charms professor" McGonagall said.

"Nice to meet you sir" Harry said bowing his head respectfully.

"It is nice to meet you too Mr. Potter" Flitwick said nodding his head at his new student.

"Will your entourage be accompanying us Mr. Potter?" McGonagall asked as she looked at the group.

"They will ma'am. I go nowhere with at least two guards at all times" Harry said.

"Very well, shall we" McGonagall said not seeing a big problem with it since Harry was the last Potter.

Flitwick followed curious to what will happen and pleased he was involved.

So they headed to the headmaster's office and Dumbledore wasn't happy at all. He had hoped only Potter to be there, but no. McGonagall decided to stay since Harry asked her to. Not to mention Flitwick and then Harry's guards. Though he was the exception to this rule of course due to a greasy haired, hooked nose man was in the office with Dumbledore. He sneered openly at seeing Harry.

Harry ignored the man and then seeing there wasn't enough seats for everyone pulled out his staff that fully extended from its compact wand size that was located in a custom wand holster on his wrist and waved it in a circular fashion and more chairs appeared for everyone. It was a tight fit for everyone in the office, but Hogwarts expanded Dumbledore's office to accommodate everyone.

The use of magic with Harry conjuring chairs for everyone shocked and surprised everyone. That and Harry using a staff was something unheard of, a wizard using a staff. Only very powerful wizards could use a staff since they required a lot more power and control than a wand. Something most magical people didn't have. Dumbledore was powerful, but not enough to wield a staff. They weren't exactly outlawed due to that fact that it was rare for a wizard to have that amount of power to wield a staff. Not to mention a wizard had to personally craft their own staff unlike a wand that can be purchased much easier.

"Harry, I asked to just see you" Dumbledore said in his grandfatherly tone.

"I go nowhere without at least two of my guards sir. And I prefer you call me Mr. Potter since we're not familiar with each other" Harry said politely.

Dumbledore frowned at this.

"Now what is it you'd like to talk to me about sir, we've had a long journey and wish to retire?" Harry asked.

"First Lord Potter, I believe it would be wise to introduce your guards to the headmaster, deputy and your head of house" the red-haired woman said.

"Okay, that sounds good" Harry said nodding his head.

The redhead stepped forward as Dumbledore paled hearing Harry's title. This couldn't be happening. He had created and shoved a law through the Wizengamot to prevent this event. No one though noticed his reaction since the redhead had their attention except Harry's guards and they stored that info away for later.

"My name is Erza Scarlet, I'm in charge of Lord Potter's security here. You met my counterpart Riza Hawkeye who came here before. She's the head of Lord Potter's security fully. The others here are Mikoto Misaka, Cloud Strife, Tenten Kisaragi, Gray Fullbuster, Ami Mizuno, Link, and Edward Elric" Erza, the redhead, said.

Dumbledore looked at the group and it made him unhappy. He wanted Harry here alone so he could mold and shape the boy as he saw fit, but with these guards it would hamper his plans. Not to mention all of Harry's guards looked to be tough and not one who could be persuaded to follow his greater good.

Mikoto Misaka had short brown hair that was a bit long in the back to cover the nape of her neck with her bangs covering her forehead and had a floral hairclip on one side. She was wearing a short dark grey skirt and a white blouse with a beige sweater vest over it wearing a beige coat over it. She had light brown eyes and in her hand she was playing with a coin. She appeared to be in her early to mid-teens.

Cloud was leaning against the wall looking very calm and his sharp blue eyes keeping track of everyone in the room ready to strike if needed. His eyes tended to stray back to the greasy man, making sure to keep a closer eye on that person. He had short blond spiky hair. On his back was a huge sword that was almost as tall as him and looked heavy too, but it didn't seem to hinder him at all. (He's wearing the same clothes he wore in FF7: AC)

Tenten was also keeping an eye on everyone too. Her dark brown eyes scanning back and forth. She had on black cargo pants that had numerous pockets for things with a pack around her waist. She wore a dark blue vest over a black short sleeve shirt on each shoulder there was a blue swirl. Her bare arms were wrapped bandages though it didn't appear to be covering any kind of wound or injury. On her forehead was a headband that had a plate of metal with unfamiliar symbol on it. She like Misaka were about the same age.

Gray was wearing black jeans with a metal chain hanging from it. He had on a white coat with blue trim going down the sides. Under that he was wearing a cuirass of some sort made out of leather. He had black spiky hair and dark eyes. He had his hands stuffed in his pockets and looked disinterested in what was going on, though that was a ruse. He looked to be around Misaka and Tenten's age maybe slightly older.

Ami was wearing a Japanese schoolgirl uniform that looked like a sailor suit that contains a white button-up blouse with a red scarf that tied around the neck like a necktie of sorts and a blue skirt that went down to her mid thigh. On her feet was a pair of sensible tennis shoes. She had short blue hair and blue eyes. She was carrying what appeared to be a briefcase of some kind in her hands. She appeared to be in her late teens to early twenties.

Now Ami was different from the other as she was Harry's secretary of sorts. As Lord Potter he needed someone to help him keep his house in order and Ami was selected to do that duty, but she also was trained to protect Harry too if she had to.

Link was wearing a green tunic with white tights. He had short blond hair with a green cap covering his hair and sharp blue eyes. He had pointy ears, elf-like, with the left one pierced. He had brown boots and on his hands was brown leather gauntlets. On his back was a sword and shield. He was leaning against the wall with Cloud keeping an eye on things, ready to strike if and when needed.

Ed was wearing a long red coat that was open and showed a black shirt and he had on black pants and black boots. On his hands were white gloves and his long blond hair was tied back in a ponytail. His golden eyes looked bored. He looked to be about the same age as Gray maybe slightly younger.

"Now, what is it you wish to talk to me about sir, we're all very tired due to a very long journey here?" Harry asked.

"Yes, well. I believe this guard you have is unnecessary Harry. Hogwarts is a very safe place" Dumbledore said.

"I find that highly dubious considering you had to warn the student body of the nearby forest then warned them about the third floor corridor. Usually when you give out a warning like that to children that's just like waving something red in front of a bull. They will only become curious and peek in" Erza said.

"Be quiet on things you have no clue about" the greasy-haired man snarled.

"And you might want to introduce yourself grease spot before opening your mouth. It's only polite" Misaka said coolly.

"This is Severus Snape, he's head of Slytherin and teaches potions" Dumbledore said.

"That is fine, but what is he doing here since this meeting has nothing to do with him" Ed said sitting in his chair backwards.

"Professor Snape is here to help advise the situation" Dumbledore said.

"I see, so what is your deputy headmistress here for then?" Cloud asked idly.

McGonagall gave Dumbledore a sharp look that he didn't meet. The Scottish witch was now wondering the same thing since it appeared that he valued Snape's opinion over hers, which seemed to be the case in recent years. Given how he always side with Snape when it came to student complaints aimed towards the potion teacher.

"Look, we're lord Potter's guards and there's nothing that can stop that. As a Lord of an Ancient and Noble house he has that right for an entourage" Tenten said.

"I am quite aware of the laws, but I do believe that there's a law prohibiting children as young as Harry to become lord" Dumbledore said.

"Please, Lord Potter asked of you not to speak to him like you are familiar with him. And second, the law you speak of is useless since it clashes with a much older law stating that when only one remaining member of an Ancient and Noble family is alive they can and have the right to claim their title at the age of eleven. That law trumps any new ones as it's ingrain and accepted by magic" Ami said in a formal manner.

Dumbledore wasn't pleased with this at all. He had a frown on his face as his mind tried to work a new angle.

"Headmaster, we're tired from our journey, may we please go to our rooms?" Harry asked being polite.

Dumbledore sighed and nodded. He'd need to discuss with Snape a new tactic.

So Harry and his entourage got up and left. McGonagall followed though frowned as she saw Dumbledore and Snape lean in together like they were conspiring. She'd keep a closer eye on them now. Flitwick saw this too and knew he'd have to keep a better watch on his house and Mr. Potter. He wasn't going to let one of his house be used in any sort of way. They weren't the only ones as a few of Harry's guards saw this too and knew they'd have to be on their toes.

/Scene Break/

McGonagall and Flitwick led Harry and his entourage to their quarters.

"I thank you for all your help professor McGonagall. You too professor Flitwick" Harry said bowing his head.

"It's nothing Lord Potter" McGonagall said.

"It is no problem Lord Potter. I'll try and do my best to keep in close contact with my house to make sure there is no problems" Flitwick said.

"Please, you can both call me Mr. Potter. I only use my title when I need to" Harry said smiling.

The two professors nodded. They both liked Harry since he was a very polite young man. He didn't have that arrogance that his father had when he started Hogwarts. In fact he seemed to share more qualities with his mother than his father as far as they could tell.

They soon got to Harry's quarters.

"You must set the password" McGonagall said.

"Very well" Harry said.

After setting the password McGonagall and Flitwick left them. They had some things they thought they should discuss after what they had just witnessed.

Inside Harry sighed as he sat down. The common room of their quarters was a lovely set up. Not too posh nor too sparse either. There was a staircase that led up to the bedrooms. His guard moved to check on everything making sure it was secure. It was. They came back to the common area and relaxed a tad.

"Well that went well" Harry commented.

"It did, but we must keep a vigilant guard at all times. We're in unfamiliar territory and until we know the lay of the land we all must be cautious" Erza said.

"I agree" Cloud said.

"It appears we've got two allies of tonight, the two professors" Tenten commented.

"Yes, though that Snape person just rubs me the wrong way" Misaka said frowning.

"You felt it too?" Cloud asked.

Misaka nodded.

"Yes, I think we all felt something coming off him and it wasn't the fact that he didn't look like he has bathed for a long time" Gray said.

There was light laughter at this.

"Well, time for bed" Harry said.

He said goodnight to his guards and then headed up. Ed followed to make sure things were fine in the bath and bedroom. It cleared and Harry was able to sleep. The rest of the guards started their routine of taking turns at post while the others slept.

/Scene Break/

The next morning Harry woke up and did his usual thing in the morning. He met his guards in the common room.

"Anything interesting happen overnight?" he asked.

"No, all quiet" Cloud said.

"Alright, lets go down to eat" Harry said.

Only two of his guards followed him this time, Gray and Misaka. The group had a rotation of sorts on who'd guard Harry since it wouldn't be practical for all of them to guard Harry, so they did it two at a time. The three headed down to the Great hall and again there were eyes on the group, but they ignored them and Harry sat down and began to serve himself. Gray and Misaka had already eaten in the room because they didn't want to waste time when they should be guarding Harry. So they'd eat when they can when on shift. Flitwick handed Harry his schedule and he looked it over.

"Professor, I do have a question about my schedule" Harry said.

Flitwick paused handing out schedules to the other Ravenclaws.

"About what Mr. Potter?" he asked.

"Well I'm sure my head of security mentioned it, but I'll be having tutors in two subjects, Defense and potions, my needs for them are specific and the normal curriculum here at Hogwarts doesn't suit my needs" Harry said. "Plus I know for a fact that I'm able to do this since it's allowed in the rules of Hogwarts. As long as the student is able to afford it of course."

Flitwick nodded as he took Harry's schedule.

"I'll make the appropriate changes Mr. Potter. I wasn't aware of any of this" Flitwick said.

"It's alright sir" Harry said.

Flitwick nodded and finished handing out schedules. He'd have a word with a certain headmaster about this.

Harry went on eating ignoring the stares from his fellow Claws.

/Scene Break/

Flitwick got back to the staff table. He didn't look happy at all.

"Why wasn't I informed that Mr. Potter would have tutors for certain courses?" he asked giving the headmaster a glare.

McGonagall looked stunned and turned to Dumbledore. She remembered the meeting in the headmaster when that came up. She thought that was resolved.

"What do you mean Filius?" Pomona asked.

"I was just told by Mr. Potter that he'd have tutors in some subjects" Flitwick said.

"What subjects?" Pomona asked.

"Defense and potions" Flitwick said.

"This is utter nonsense. I'm the only one who can teach potions. Potter doesn't deserve any kind of special treatment" Snape sneered.

"This has nothing to do with any kind of treatment Severus" Flitwick fired back, "according to Hogwarts rules a student can have their own tutor for any given subject they chose as long as they're able to afford it."

Snape was glaring down at his breakfast.

"I assure you Filius, Mr. Potter's needs were known before he came to Hogwarts. I was there when they were laid out" McGonagall said as she looked at Dumbledore with disapproving look.

Dumbledore didn't like this since he needed Harry to be in Severus' class so the potions master could peek into Harry's head, which would give him a better grasp at what he's dealing with.

"Filius, we can't make exceptions to certain students" the headmaster began.

"Once again it seems you're not listening Albus" McGonagall said, "Ms. Hawkeye had told us that Mr. Potter would be having tutors in a few courses here. We obliged since this is a school and a school is for learning no matter who the teacher is. Filius, hand me the schedule and I'll see what I can do."

Flitwick nodded and handed McGonagall Harry's schedule so she can make the proper corrections to it.
