Author note: I don't own Super Smash bros. Nor do I own the mashup of Lindsey Stirling's 'Crystallize' and 'Elements' that I heard on Youtube that inspired this fic. Also, I'm using the prompts battle, harmony, and duet for this fic (hence the title of the fic). I don't know if I'll expand on this (I guess I'll hear from you readers if you want me to continue), but if I do, don't expect updates to be too often for this since I'm working on tons of other mutli-chap fics already.
Warning: AU, violence, humanized Pokemon,
Constructive Criticism would be great, and I hope you guys read, review and enjoy! Thanks!
Duet
In the middle of the wasteland, two soldiers stood. They were silent, just simply staring at each other until one of them, a warrior of short, lavender hair and irises of a deeper violet, lunged forwards.
The other warrior, a blond-haired man wearing the tunic of dark green and matching-coloured stocking cap, raised his sword and ran towards him as well. Their blades collided, hacking, slashing at each other's shields as they tried to disarm each other.
From above and below, lying admist rubble and raised cliffs, were other warriors all around them. Some had died, some were injured, some too exhausted to even get up from the ground. The ones that lived all watched, unsure of what to do, what to say, what to think as they observed the spectacle.
The violet-haired warrior let out a growl as his eyes glowed a bright shade of blue, and with the rising of one of his hands, rubble and rocks from the ground lifting high into the air. He paused for a moment, before making another gesture and they all went flying towards the stocking-capped warrior.
The blond warrior held up his shield, blocking those that went towards him, and a crack slowly developed. As soon as the assault was over, he took no chance to breathe, and instead ran towards the other before leaping high into the air. Brandishing his sword, he pointed it earthwards as he let gravity take hold of him and pull him closer to his opponent.
The other flipped backwards before the blade could strike, landing on both feet as his opponent pulled his sword out of the soil, before pointing it at the other.
They way they fought was a harmonious fight, one strike responding with another, a duet of clashing blades and abilities they had learned in their training back at their kingdoms. It was not a peaceful sort of music, quite obviously, it was surely more of one wish to shed the blood of the other.
The kingdoms used to be in peace, long long ago. But now, they were at war for unknown reasons. One kingdom reasoned that the other had grown distant and cold for an unknown reason. The other thought vice versa.
Neither kingdom realized that they were both consumed by the darkness that slowly surrounded the kingdoms in the past years, when they used to be in peace.
They used to call each other friends, brothers, sisters, family. Now, they saw hatred, greed, ignorance, and wrath in each other.
Both warriors were getting completely exhausted now. They wildly grappled with each other, weakly clashed their blades, until they could do nothing but collapse onto the soil beneath them.
The whole battlefield was as silent as the dead.
Far far away, a pair of twins, a boy and girl, opened their eyes, renewed with life as they recalled the past events. The destruction of their village, and the rest of the land around them. Everyone warring against each other. And they had been caught in the middle of the chaos.
They both looked at each other with an agreed thought in mind, and started to trudge through the land around them.
Legend has it that twin children will reunite the kingdoms and overcome the darkness.
The mystics, a man with black hair and wearing a cloak of dark blue, and a woman with hair of the sun and dress of pure white, know that this will come true.
