Prompt: The Doctor shows Clara/Oswin outer space for the first time. (They land in a different planet, he shows her a star up close, etc.)
"Doctor?" Clara Oswin Oswald called for his attention, sometimes he got so caught up he forgot she was still there. "Where we going?" She asked, excited. She's never really felt like this before, this feeling of anticipation for something new. Her life has always been filled with routine and no matter how hard she tried, she never got that feeling she was always unconsciously yearning for. But now, she's found it.
"Somewhere new." He told her with a bright smile and that gleam in his eyes he hasn't had for a while. Clara smiled brightly back. She ran with him all around the council, keeping up with him in a way on she could do.
The Doctor stopped in front of the scanner, they were close to landing now so he took a moment to look at her. Just to see that long brown hair of hers curl around her shoulder and falling into her face. Suddenly he was filled with the longing to touch it, to stroke it softly and to push it back behind her ear.
He's never felt this way before. Not for his companion... not since Rose and River.
But this was different. Clara brought him back to life.
And of course, this train of thought led him to think of the kiss. That kiss with her soft pink lips touching his, and that human warmth radiating from her and filling him up until he couldn't breathe. She stole his breath away, that girl.
She was already the owner of one of his hearts and she didn't even know it.
"Doctor?" He heard Clara ask softly. He shook his head as if to clear it and looked at the scanner once again, hoping she wouldn't notice what he was thinking.
Clara, on the other hand, had a certain idea of what he was thinking... considering she was thinking much the same thing. When she looked at him, she saw this broken man who she succeeded in making him feel better. She didn't know exactly what she did, but she was ever so grateful for it. She cared for him. From the first moment she saw him she cared for him intensively. She didn't know if she should feel this way for him considering she didn't exactly know him. But... since when did she do what she 'should'? She looked down and smiled to herself at that.
Somewhere new he had said, she couldn't wait for it.
..
"Somewhere new, somewhere you've never seen before." The Doctor said, jumping/dancing/running to the doors of his ship. Clara joined him, a bright smile on her face.
He beamed back and without hesitation opened the doors.
Clara's eyes widened in wonder when she was what were behind the doors. She gasped, her breath living her lungs in amazement. She saw an explosion of colors and gases and light. A birth. A beginning.
"A star." She breathed, "The birth of a star."
"You told me to show you the stars, and here you are." He spoke softly, so softly she didn't know whether it was her imagination or not.
She didn't want to take her eyes away from this moment, this spectacular moment no one from generation got to witness. She does though. She's never felt so special.
She turns to him though, there were tears in her eyes, she realized, and he reached up to catch them as they fell. She was everything to him right now, he was entrapped in her, everything about her. He wanted to kiss her.
But instead he wrapped her in his embrace. And as she whispered to his ear a small, wonderstruck thank you... he knew, he just knew, she was the one.
A/N: Cheesy ending, I know! Oh well! Gotta love those! Anyway hope you all enjoyed reading this, tell me what you thought! XD xo
