Two Weeks Later

I could not believe how much my life had changed in such a short time. I was standing on the balcony, where Arthur was in the midst of giving a speech.

All the Knights were flanking me, including Mordred. I knew that trusting him was a dangerous gamble, but I was willing to take the chance, that I never took with Morgana. She was still out there plotting, but she was going to have a difficult time finding support now. Mordred and I had a friendship, which was nice.

"I believe in the people of Camelot, and this change has ushered in a new era for Camelot. An era of peace, love and understanding. Magic is free!" Arthur Pendragon had just announced that magic was free.

I couldn't believe it when he told the council that he was freeing magic, I couldn't believe it when he asked me to help write the speech, I couldn't believe it when he asked me to invite the Druids to Camelot, I still couldn't believe it when I watched the crowds gather, and yet here Arthur stood, telling the world that magic was good. It was no longer a crime to practice magic in Camelot.

"I will remind the people though, any citizen of Camelot, magic or not will have to follow the laws. No one is above the law. If you choose to practice magic the more power too you, but do not harm others. Merlin, our trusted court warlock will insure you are brought to justice." Arthur turned to smile at me.

The crowd looked at me warily, after all only yesterday I was a servant. A nobody, but today I was making history. It was spectacular.

Arthur ended his speech, with a couple wise words. "I want the citizens of Camelot to remember what makes Camelot great, we are loving, trusting people. Though we have made numerous mistakes in the past, this is our chance to right those wrongs and leave a legacy of hope, and acceptance for future generations. Welcome to those with magic to our kingdom. You are now a part of Camelot."

The crowd cheered, it may not have been very enthusiastic, but it was the step towards the future.

I entered the Castle, to see Gaius and Gwen standing watching and clapping.

I walked towards them. Gaius had been so proud when he found out that I had finally told Arthur the truth, after he nearly beat me with a broom for being so careless.

Gwen had been so accepting of my magic. She had told Arthur to stand before the people, and right the wrongs of his father.

Arthur was fiddling with his armor. "I think that went well, don't you?"

I nodded. "I think it was a great first step."

Gwaine walked up. "The Knights are heading to the tavern, want to join us?"

"I cannot come, I have to find a new servant." Arthur said.

"Wait what," I interrupted. "Are you sacking me again?!" After all I had done. What was Arthur doing?

Gwaine backed away, he didn't want to get involved in another one of Arthur and Merlin's fights.

"Come on men, the first round of ale is on me." They all followed Gwaine.

Gaius and Gwen left too.

"Merlin you do realize you are a member of the court now. You can't be a servant. You should have a servant." Arthur explained.

I truly hadn't considered that. I would have been happy to be Arthur's servant till the day I died. I couldn't imagine my life being any different.

"I..."

"Merlin, look you were always more than a servant, now you can just be my friend." Arthur said.

"Fine, but don't get a boot licker." I said with a smile.

"O' but I finally have the chance to find a halfway decent servant." Arthur said in the same tone.

"You will never find a better servant than me." I stated clearly.

"I know, but we should worry about your servant." Arthur said.

"I don't need a servant. I can do everything for myself."

Arthur laughed. "We can't all have great magical abilities."

Arthur said 'magical abilities' so casually. I had always been afraid that me and Arthur's relationship would change when I told him the truth. It did, we became closer. Arthur had accepted my magic, even though I had lied for so long.

"Arthur just...thank you, for all of this." I said softly.

Arthur looked at me and said, "Merlin we discussed this, you never have to say thank you for anything. I wish I could have done more. You have saved this kingdom more times than I can count. You saved me in ways that I can't even describe. You deserve this and so much more."

I had told Arthur and everyone else, everything I had done. It had taken so long, but I got through the stories. It had been such a huge weight off my chest.

"Come on Merlin, just because you aren't my servant, doesn't mean you don't have duties. We have a hundred laws to rewrite." Arthur said walking away.

I laughed and followed. Because even though there were still problems I had to deal with, I wasn't alone.

"You know Arthur, I have always thought an apprentice would be nice."

"We will get you a whole school." Arthur said laughingly as he guided me off to the library to do so much work.

My mind wandered thinking about Morgana.

Morgana was hiding out there, with Aithusa. I had summoned the dragon. Kilgharrah had tried everything in his power to make Aithusa understand that Morgana was not a friend, but the dragon refused, I was able to heal the poor dragon, but I could not change Aithusa's loyalty.

Whatever bonded Morgana, and Athuisa was strong enough that the Dragon would not be swayed by both a dragon and a dragon lord. Neither Kilgharrah or I had the willpower to harm the dragon. One day we hoped the young dragon would change it's mind.

But happy things had happened. The Druids agreed to peace. They had wanted peace all along. Cleapio made peace with her remaining brothers, she and Gilli had moved into a small house in Camelot, and were planning a wedding. I was so happy for my friend.

As Arthur and I arrived at the library, I realized something, since the first day I had stepped foot in Camelot, I was content. I was so happy. I no longer had to imagine a great future. It was happening.

Arthur and I were creating Albion.

The End.

I hope everyone liked the ending :)
