The sun had started to set. It was a lovely mixture of oranges, and pinks, and reds all melting together in the most soothing way imaginable. At least it would be if a certain somebody hadn't been fretting over a date. A certain girl named Feferi who had just come back from picking a lovely fitted dress. It was six in the evening now and she was carefully wiggling into her dress and zipping it up along the side. Earlier she had only snacked, just an apple and a granola bar to settle her appetite. Alright, so she was dressed, tights an all. Her hair was brushed and had been braided after getting out of the shower earlier, so it was perfectly wavy now, and pinned back in a couple of places. Had to keep it classy, don't want hair falling in your face and possibly getting stuck in your food, right? Oh man, deep breath. So it had been a while since she had been out on anything that could count as a possible date. No big deal. She went into her bathroom and stared at herself for a good ten minutes. Sure, that's productive its not like she had- oh no only half an hour? She spent the next fifteen minutes on a little makeup, only the minimum. Most importantly, she didn't want any lipstick coming off while eating or drinking. Her little purse was organized, her special bangle on, only the one. And a ring. And a necklace. She really didn't want to seem too flashy or anything, but she felt so naked without them. Her shoes were perfect, matched her dress just right, thank god. She would have to send Kanaya a present for this, maybe even get her a trophy for all the fitting and altering on such short notice. She jumped as she heard somebody knocking on her door.

"Heh, hey there. Nice to see you again." Feferi smiled warmly at her escort for the evening. He looked surprised for a moment, but it dissolved into a small smile. "Nice to see you too. You look rather nice. And I can see you like pink?" He asked, holding out his arm for her. She grinned and took it. "I do. And you with purple?" She replied. "I prefer violet, but yes." He hummed, and the look on his face said he might have just been teasing a little. "Of course. After all violet is so much more dignified than your common purple." She added, giving her best false-snooty look. He gave a silent laugh and began walking away with her.

"So, who are these two friends of yours that we'll be meeting?" Feferi asked as she slid into a rather nice leather seat. Nice car, a little more on the expensive side. Admittedly her old car had been one even more expensive, but there was no reason to mention it. It was just a brief thought. When he sat down though he gave her a look that made her feel as though he was expecting her to be impressed, maybe even overwhelmed. She pretended, widening her eyes a bit and looking around. "Well their names are Karkat and Terezi. Oh, and... Kar can be a little on the abrasive side, so you know." he grimaced, having forgotten to mention that before. "I wouldn't worry about either of them though. After the first ten minutes it'll be like we're at different tables. We'll be on our own date." he stated with a definitive nod. Alright, she could definitely have fun tonight. That sounded like a nice set up. Meet a couple of people, and then get on with the date. Exciting, really.

"Oh, Eridan. You never did tell me. What were you doing out on the docks so early?" she asked him. He started up his car and sighed. "Well, I went out fishing. Didn't catch much, but I went anyway. It's how I like to wake up on the weekends." He answered. "Now your turn. What were you doing out so early?" he countered. "Its how I like to start my mornings. I dip my feet in the water, if its warm enough I swim. You know?" She hummed, relaxing back into the seat which had gotten nice and warm. He seemed to understand, nodding thoughtfully. "So do you have a job?" She decided to ask. "Yes and no. I sometimes work for my father, other times I don't. Its a very on and off job, but I thought about just working at a fish store once." He explained, and glanced over at her, waiting for her answer. "I work at my friend's shop. Its a really nice place, you might even like it. It's generally for women but Kanaya loves to make clothes for men too." She said, smiling at him. "Ah, shameless advertising. I can't say I won't stop by though." He shrugged, and pulled up in front of one of Feferi's favorite restaurants. Yes! Wait- no. Oh no, all of the staff would probably recognize her. If the manager saw he might even tell her mother about her being there with a boyfriend and would that be a hassle... Okay. Just play it cool. They got out and Eridan just let the valet park his car.

They walked in, and immediately the front desk woman's eyes lit up, about ready to excitedly welcome her when she stopped, seeing the little motion Feferi gave her. The motion was passed along a few times and even though she thought she saw Eridan catch sight of one of them , he never commented. They sat down, and Eridan greeted his friends, introducing Feferi.

"Hey, wait a minute. You're the one that ran into me in the street!" The guy- Karkat- shouted a bit. Uh oh. Please don't hold some kind of grudge over something so small...

Immense, huge, massive apologies. I had completely forgotten about this fanfic. I didn't mean to abandon it I swear! I've marked reminders on my calendar for several times in the next couple of months in case I forget again, so I'll be updating much, much sooner than it took me last time. Which was a ridiculously and incredibly long time. I'm so sorry for it having been so long. I'm so happy to see that you guys are still following this story, though. Thank you guys so much.
