"No. Way." Those two words. Those two simple words that caught Marco's attention one morning would soon be the beginning of a somewhat oddly cute yet annoying disease called Brother Complex. Raising an eyebrow, Marco glanced over Ace's shoulder to see what he was staring so goofily at. It was a wanted poster, and a fairly new one too, seeing as Marco didn't recognize the face posted on it. But as he read the name below it, he suddenly knew who it was. Monkey D. Luffy, wanted for 30,000,000 berries.
That was Ace's younger brother.
The younger brother he would never shut up about.
'This,' Marco thought, 'is not going to end well.'
Nope. Not. At. All.
Marco had been locked away in his room filling out a stack of paper work for only an hour and as he exited his room, he was surprised to see wanted posters stapled to the wall. Lots of posters. All of one person. All down the hallway. He gave a sigh as he headed onto the deck where even more wanted posters had been hung and many crew members were inspecting them.
The wanted posters were everywhere. And when we say everywhere we mean EVERYWHERE. A few were stapled up the crows nest, a few on the floor, one of the sail and a few even on the railings.
To his left, he spotted Ace with a wanted poster in his hand as he showed Thatch it. "My brother's finally wanted, Thatch! For 30,000,000 berries! Thirty million!" Thatch gave a groan.
"I know, Ace, you've told me that five times already in the past half hour." Ace simply laughed as Marco sweat-dropped, glancing at all the posters hanging on the deck. Spotting his other friend, Ace bounced over to the older blond and Marco knew what the man was gonna say.
"Marco! This is my brother I'm always talking about!" He showed Marco the poster up close and the zoan user took a few steps back.
"Yeah, i see that, Ace. Good for him." As Ace opened his mouth to reply, he spotted Whitebeard enter the deck and sit in chair who noticed all the stapled wanted posters. He ran over to the giant man with an equally giant grin and held up the poster as he pointed to it.
"Oyaji, look! This is my brother!" Whitebeard stared at the wanted poster for a while before giving a grin too, observing the happiness the logia user was now feeling.
"Congratulations, Ace. You've got a strong, trouble-making brother," he commented and Ace's grin seemed to grow even more. "How bout you take the rest of the morning off," he offered, knowing that the logia user would probably be too distracted to work. Ace simply gave a nod and stared down at the wanted poster in his hand, smiling a smile so big and bright that his cheeks began to hurt. Still staring at the poster, he walked towards his door, but missed and ended up walking into the wall. Marco chocked back the urge to laugh at the scene. But instead of getting mad or looking up to see where he's going, Ace simply backed up and continued his way through the doorway. Marco sweat-dropped again but gave a chuckle nonetheless.
Leave it to Ace to staple wanted posters all over the Moby Dick's deck in pure and simple joy.
Even as he spent the next hour taking them down, he continued to wear that grin of his; happy beyond belief that his brother was one step closer to fulfilling his dream.
To becoming the Pirate King.
