Yu-Gi-Oh! Fanfiction
The Sky Dance
By: Maiko
Prologue
Yugi dropped amid a field of sand, fair grains brushing his naked skin, the bizarre ambiance that surrounded him void of wind and temperature.
Broken banners and burned flags laid fixed into the ground, no gale to make their ashen colors dance.
Nothing existed in this illusion he found himself trapped in, night after night, always unaltered.
His body was paralyzed, too heavy and faint to even lift a finger from his bested position.
Regardless of the lack of heat in such delusional wilderness, the blinding light prevented his eyes from opening thoroughly, the luminescence depriving him of his vision.
'Why am I here?' He wondered to himself, resentful over the cornered feeling despite been a dream.
"Why…" His lips murmured, no sound coming out of them.
Calling for aid was meaningless, conscious of his own desolation, a suitable environment for the circumstances.
The boy resigned to his impotence, aware he would eventually wake up, his half-closed lids attempting to shut down completely before those amethyst orbs perceived a glimpse of movement.
It was painful to focus his vision entirely, a blurred figure of something or someone drawing near him.
Seconds were eternal, time theoretical, the daze taking form with each lethargic step.
"Who are you?" He questioned, the man keeping a steady approach, a golden crown with the Egyptian symbol of Ra resting on his brow.
