Karkat hugged the clown tightly, not daring to let go. Red tears dropped from his eyes, and fell down his gray cheeks. His sobs echoed around the room, and he had a firm grip on Gamzee's blood-stained shirt.

Gamzee held the smaller troll, tracing small patterns on his back. He couldn't speak. He didn't dare, afraid that his best friend would start yelling at him about how stupid he was, and how he didn't want to be his morial anymore. So he just stood there, hugging the scared troll.

Karkat's sobs eventually ceased, and he just clung to the jugallo's shirt, glaring at the Capricorn sign, which was now stained with green and blue.

"Hey… best friend…" Gamzee began, but Karkat shook his head, shaking.

"Just… don't… Just… be quiet," he whispered, still hugging the clown.

Gamzee sighed, and kissed the top of Karkat's head. "I'm sorry," he murmured.

Karkat tensed when he felt the kiss on his head, but relaxed, realizing that this was his Gamzee. This was the Gamzee he remembered. The non-sober Gamzee. The Gamzee that he loves.

Karkat choked in a sob, and nodded. "Just don't scare me like that ever again," the smaller troll murmured, wiping at his eyes. "I… I thought I had lost my motherfuckin best friend."

Gamzee smiled and nodded. He hugged the troll, and kissed Karkat's cheek. "I won't best friend. I won't."

Something inside of the low blooded troll just snapped, and he flung his arms around the clown, and kissed the other's mouth.

Gamzee froze for a second, but eventually kissed back, giving into the nubby horned troll. Karkat was up on his tip toes, fully making out with the once-insane clown.

Everything disappeared from their minds. They gave into one another, forgetting everything that happened. Sober Gamzee, death, Sburb… it was all forgotten. Nothing mattered. It was left behind once the boys had kissed.

Karkat parted from their tip toe kiss, his cheeks bright red. "Promise? Promise me you won't leave me," he whispered, wrapping his arms around Gamzee's waist, and burying his face in the troll's chest.

Gamzee grinned and hugged the troll promise. "I promise, my motherfuckin best friend. I promise. It'll be just me and you, alright? I won't go anywhere. I won't leave."
