~As always, I do not own Predator. Let me know what you think. Hope you enjoy!~
Kenzie was sitting across from a few of the Elder males. They had assembled at the insistence of Uncle. He had been wearing her panties on his head for quite some time now and he was requesting that they be removed. To be honest, Kenzie had forgotten that he had her panties on his head. She had been off of the ship for two weeks and this was the first time she was seeing him after coming back onto the ship four days ago.
She didn't actually care if they allowed him to take them off of his head or not. By her calculations he had been wearing them for at least a month. If that wasn't long enough for him to learn his lesson and that he shouldn't take things from people's house, then she didn't know what was.
Walking around with her panties on his head should have been sufficient. Especially with everyone he passed seeing them. She knew the younger yautja wouldn't make fun of him to his face for fear of punishment. However, she knew the thought of them going and talking about him, laughing and making fun of him behind closed doors, was enough to have him embarrassed.
"Small One." Boo called, gaining her attention. "Do you feel S'kta has been punished sufficiently?"
Kenzie turned her attention to Uncle. She cocked her head to the side and stared at him. She could tell that he was irritated. After all, it was because of her that he had to wear them on his head. She had even left the ship and he still had to wear them. She did feel as if he'd had them on long enough. If for no other reason to her than the fact that it was a reminder that he had crept into her home and taken them.
"Yes. He can take them off now."
The words had barely left her lips when he snatched them off of his head. He seemed to be relieved that he no longer had to wear them. It almost made her laugh. The fact that this eight foot male had walked around with pink panties on his head.
Elder Ka'n, an Elder she had met upon entering the room, picked up the undergarments. He held them out to Kenzie, attempting to give them back to her. She held up her hands, palms facing him and shook her head.
"No. I don't want them back. I'll think about him sneaking into my house every time I see them. You can than throw them away, Elder." She stated, remembering to be respectful.
She watched as he placed them in the trash before dismissing her. The day after they had gotten back, Kenzie had debriefed. So, there was no reason for her to stay as the five Elders discussed it now that Elder Ka'n was back on the clan ship.
Leaving the room, Kenzie headed to her house or apartment. She hadn't actually decided on what to call it yet in the few months that she had been staying there.
She placed her hand on the scanner, unlocking the door and walking inside. Cydney's head turned towards her and she smiled wide at her before getting up and rushing over to her. Kenzie picked the child up and sat her on her hip.
"Hey, Cyd. Did you have fun while I was gone?" Kenzie questioned walking into the living room.
"Yes. I did."
"Were you good for, Jay?" Kenzie then inquired.
"She was great." Jay answered from her seat on the couch. "How was the meeting?"
"It was good." Kenzie stated sitting down with Cydney in her lap. "I decided to let him take them off."
"Well, he did have them on for like a month." Jay pointed out. "He deserved it though." She then added on.
"What are you talking about?" Cydney questioned, playing with the Etch-a-Sketch Kenzie had gotten her when they were still on Earth.
"Nothing, Sweetheart." Kenzie stated.
For the next ten minutes, she sat and talked to Jay while Cydney played. When Jay got ready to go, she walked the younger girl to the door.
"How much do I owe you?" Kenzie questioned.
"Whatever you want to give me is fine." Jay told her.
Kenzie gave her two medium mon'tas. It was one of the yautja forms of currency. Viper had explained the different monetary values to her. Mon'tas were coins that came in three sizes, but they weren't equivalent to change on earth. She surmised that they were more like the dollar, five dollar and ten dollar bill on earth. N'uda, which came in three different colors she surmised were like the twenty, fifty and hundred from earth.
Jay looked down at the coins in her hand. "You do know I barely babysat her for an hour. This is too much." She told her.
Kenzie shrugged. "I'm still learning the money. Besides, I'm sure I'll need you to watch her again."
Jay nodded before saying bye to Kenzie and Cydney. Once the younger girl was gone, Kenzie made her way back over to where the child was playing.
"Cyd, you want to help me make dinner?" She questioned.
"Yes!" She stated excitedly, before standing to her feet and heading into the kitchen. "What are we going to make?"
"How about we smoke some more of the meat Viper brought back from the pink planet since you liked it so much."
"Okay. Can we have sweet potatoes with it and bread if it's some more left from what you mad a couple of days ago?"
"Sure, Sweetheart." Kenzie stated taking out a can of the sweet potatoes she had brought back with them.
It was a big can, so she knew it would be enough considering Viper would only eat a few of them. While he would eat fruits and vegetables, he was of a meat eater. Taking out everything that they would need, the two set about making dinner.
S'kta sat in the meeting with four of the other Elders waiting for it to be over. He didn't have the desire to sit and listen to them talk about a successful cleanse his nephews and the ooman had went on.
As they spoke he continued to throw glances at the receptacle Ka'n had thrown the ooman coverings in. She had not wanted them back and that had pleased him more than it should have. He had gotten used to looking at them in his mirror when he was in his quarters. Now, that he no longer had to wear them, he had every intentions of putting them with the others he had taken.
Once the meeting was finally over, he lingered in the room, making sure he was the last one out. When he was passing the receptacle, he grabbed the coverings on his way out and tucked them into his loin cloth.
Heading down the corridor towards his quarters, he placed his palm on the scanner, stepping inside when the door slid open. He made his way to his sleeping chambers and removed the ooman covers from his loincloth. He brought them up to his face and took a deep inhale. It was faint, but he could still smell her scent on them.
After he had gotten his fill her of scent, he took them and put them with his collection of others. Leaving his sleeping chambers, S'kta headed to the lavatory to clean up. He was planning on going to the dining hall for his last cycle meal. He didn't need to run into his nephews or his brother with the ooman's scent on him. Regardless of how faint it may have been.
Leaving out of his quarters, he headed down the corridor to the dining hall. He passed several Young Bloods and Honored Warriors. He knew that they were probably all a bit shocked to see him without the coverings on his head. Having gotten used to seeing him that way over the last me'sis.
Walking inside, he went over and began to pile meats onto his plate. When it was full, he headed to the Elder's table. He was the only one there and he liked it that way. The other Elders had mates and they often ate in their quarters. Even though H'bu's mate had passed, he still prepared meals in his quarters often, so he was rarely in the dining hall.
As S'kta ate, he looked out over the room. There were several Yautja spread out eating. He took in the females in attendance. The mating cycle would begin in a me'sis. While he had not taken a Life Mate, he had spread his seed liberally and sired several pups. He planned on siring more in the coming mating cycle.
Once he was finished with his food, he rose from the table and headed out into the corridor. He didn't have anything he needed to take care of. So, he decided to head back to his quarters and relax in the bathing pool for a while.
Viper walked into his living quarters after finishing his duties for the day. The delicious smell hit him and he knew his little mate had cooked the evening meal. He was becoming used to having food ready for him when he got home. He heard little footsteps coming his way and before long, Cydney had rounded the corner from the kitchen.
"Viper!" She greeted excitedly.
"Hello, Little One." Viper stated, picking up the child, as she held her arms up to him.
"Kenzie and I made dinner. We just got finished. Are you hungry?" She questioned with a large smile on her face.
"Yes. I am." He told her carrying her into the kitchen with Rain on his heels.
He found his little mate making them each a plate. He walked over to her and placed his hand on her waist. She turned to looked at him, and he leaned down, locking his mandible to her face. They shared a quick kiss before he pulled away.
"How was work?" Kenzie inquired.
"It was...the same." Viper responded.
Kenzie nodded. "Cyd, will you give Rain her food?" She then asked the child.
Viper put her down, so she could do as his mate asked. He then washed his hands, as he had learned Kenzie liked him to do before they ate, and went and took the seat he normally did at the table.
A moment later, she brought in his plate and Cydney's before going back into the kitchen and coming back with hers. As they all sat around and ate Cydney told them about a picture she had drawn while Jay had babysat her. She had put it up in her room and wanted to show it to them after they had finished eating.
"So, I was thinking that I could get a job." Kenzie stated.
Viper looked over at her as he chewed the smoked meat. "That is not necessary." He told her.
"I don't want to depend on you for the things Cydney and I need or want." She told him.
"I earn more than enough to take care of you both."
"That isn't the point. I don't want to live off of you. Having my own money would be nice." She stated before pausing for a moment. "Can we talk about this later?" She then questioned before glancing over at the child, who was eating the orange food. He figured Kenzie didn't want her to hear this particular conversation. So, he inclined his head and agreed with her.
When they were finished eating, he helped her clean up and they went to look at Cydney's drawing. He was impressed. He suspected it was quite good coming from a child her age. After she gave them the story behind her picture, Kenzie told her to get ready to take a bath.
Viper left out of the room and headed back into the kitchen. He poured himself a cup of c'ntlip. When he finished it, he went into their sleeping quarters and into the lavatory it held. He took off his loincloth and stepped into the shower.
After washing himself, he wrapped a cloth around himself. Going back into the sleeping quarters he put on a loincloth got into bed and leaned back against the furs. His mate walked in a while later and headed into the lavatory. He heard the shower running and knew she was cleaning herself.
When she came out she was wrapped in a cloth. He watched as she put on some coverings before climbing onto the bed beside him.
"Should we speak about it now?" He questioned.
"Yes. I'd like to get a job to help pay for things."
"That is not necessary."
"I would feel like I was doing something and contributing if I did."
"You do not have to contribute in that way. You contribute already."
His little mate sighed before moving to straddle him. "I don't want to stay locked up in the house all the time. I want to contribute to our household. You shouldn't have to handle everything yourself."
"I handled things myself before."
"Yes." Kenzie agreed, nodding her head. "But before you didn't have Cydney and I."
Viper studied her. He could see that she was determined. She didn't need to take on a duty. He was capable of caring for them. As an Honored Warrior, he made a sufficient amount to care for them. It seemed that this would make her happy, though.
"You will place the child in my combat class while you carry out the duty you receive?"
He watched her think about it, before shaking her head. "No, I don't feel like she's ready for that. She's a human child after all."
"Then where will she go?"
"I'll get her a babysitter." Viper's brow furrowed and his mate elaborated. "Someone to watch her until I'm finished for the day. I think Jay would be a good choice. I can work out a price with her."
Viper nodded, before reaching over and turning out the light. Sliding down in bed, he pulled her down onto his chest, settling in for the night, though it was still a bit early for the two of them to sleep.
"Speak with Jay and see what she says. Then we will discuss what type of duties are available for you to do."
He felt his little mate kiss his chest. "Thank you, Viper."
With that, he wrapped his arms around her and closed his eyes, preparing for sleep to take over.
The next morning found Kenzie sitting in her living room again with Jay, while Cydney ran around playing with Rain.
"So, I'm going to start looking for a job on the ship today. When I start working I'm going to need a baby sitter for Kenzie. I would ask Colby, but he's just going to give in to everything she asks for." Kenzie stated, knowing her brother all too well. "That leads to me asking if you would be interested in the job?"
"Sure." Jay responded. "Do you know what it is that you want to do?"
"I guess whatever is available that appeals to me. I'm not sure how many days I'll be working or for how long, but we can work out a price when I know for sure. Tentatively, does one blue n'uda sound okay?"
It was equivalent to one hundred dollars, but seemed to buy so much more on the ship. She thought it would be a fair price. While she wanted to work she didn't want to be out of the house for half of the day like Viper was. So, she was hoping she would be able to find something that would allow her to either work normal human full-time hours or part-time hours.
"That sounds good to me. You know my Mom makes robes for people on the ship. She could probably use some help."
"I've never made a garment in my life. I would mess it completely up." Kenzie told her with a laugh.
The two sat and spoke for the next hour or so until Jay headed to meet Colby for a date they had. Kenzie thought it was cute that they found little things to do on the ship together. She made a mental note to plan something like that for herself and Viper in the future.
Getting up, Kenzie looked over at Cydney who was laid out in the floor coloring while Rain slept beside her. She made her way into the child's room. Going over to her hamper, which was really just a large tub in the corner of the room by the closet, she picked it up and carried it into her room.
The private lavatory the room housed contained a washer and a dryer. Well, it was one machine. It washed and sanitized before it dried the clothes. Sorting her clothes, Cydney's clothes and Vipers loincloths, she placed some in and started them.
It wouldn't take them long to wash. Only about fifteen minutes and then an additional ten minutes to dry. She wished washing clothes was this fast and easy back on earth. She could get a week worth of their laundry done in a little over an hour.
When she walked back into the living room she saw Cydney sitting on the couch. The step stool Viper had gotten to help her get onto the large furniture on the floor beneath it.
"Kenzie." She child called as she was about to head into the kitchen and make them some lunch. They'd had breakfast several hours before Jay had come over.
"Yeah, Cyd?"
"Do you have to get a job? You don't like staying here with me?"
Kenzie stopped in her tracks and turned going back over to the child. Sitting on the couch beside her, she pulled Cydney into her lap.
"I love staying here with you, but I can't just rely on Viper to support us both. I want to be able to buy you all the things you need." Kenzie told her.
"Why? You're going to stay with him forever, right? And a husband is supposed to support his wife and child. At least that's what my grandpa used to say."
Kenzie smiled at her. She didn't know if she and Viper would be together forever, as Cydney had put it. She was sure that them simply breaking up would not be the way it had been done back on Earth were she or he to want to do it. However, in the event that it happened, she wanted to be able to still support herself and Cydney.
"Sometimes, it's nice to be able to help though." Kenzie told her. "Besides, I won't be gone as long as Viper is every day and I may be able to find something that's just a couple of days a week. I'll still get to spend plenty of time with you."
"You promise?" Cydney questioned and Kenzie nodded at her. "And Jay will baby sit me?"
"Yes, you like Jay, right?"
"Yeah, she's fun."
"Good." Kenzie stated, kissing her forehead. "Now, I'm going to make us some lunch." She sat her back down on the couch.
"Can we have Mac N Cheese?" Cydney questioned.
Kenzie nodded her head as she headed into the kitchen. "Sure thing, Kiddo."
Now, all she had to do was find a job that she was interested in and able to perform.
