A/N: Yet again, this is based on a prompt on the meme.

Ariadne is dreading coming into work today. It's not the job, although it is proving to be a challenge in the worst way, and it's not their extractor, who is actually quite charming and treats Ariadne as an adult. No, it's because of Arthur and Eames. They've been driving her insane for the past week with their obnoxious bickering, one-upmanship, and building sexual tension. She's not quite sure about that last one, though. Ariadne has a habit of pairing people together in her head and then over analyzing how they interact with each other. But regardless of her suspicions, she just wants to take them both under and strangle them to death. If she's going to have violent tendencies, at least she has a safe outlet for them.

Eames is already there by the time she arrives, looking very awake and going through one of Arthur's files. She has to check her watch to make sure time hasn't just sped up three hours. Before she can even ask, Arthur comes in behind her.

"Good morning," he greets . . . cheerfully.

"Hey," she replies, eyeing him with caution.

It's not that Arthur has ever been grumpy in the morning, but this is a whole new level. She swears there's actually a bounce to his step, and it scares the hell out of her. Then she notices the box and the tray of coffee cups.

Eames takes a peek inside the multicolored box and smiles. "Ah, you got the jelly kind." Arthur doesn't respond, just smiles back as Eames takes a ridiculously large bite. "Thank you, love," he says around a mouthful of donut.

Arthur turns to Ariadne and hands her a cup of coffee. "I got chocolate frosted, if you want one."

Murmuring her thanks, Ariadne stares at him as she grabs her own donut. There's something very off here, and it's not just Arthur's demeanor. Even Eames is behaving strangely. It's not until she sees Eames whisper into Arthur's ear, and Arthur practically leans into him, that she gets it. Unfortunately, she's in the middle of drinking her coffee and ends up swallowing the wrong way.

Once she starts coughing, Arthur rushes over and takes the cup from her hand, gently patting her on the back. "Are you alright?"

Ariadne nods, and after she's finally coughed up most of the coffee, she points at him and shouts, "You finally slept together!"

Arthur just stands there, blinking at her.

"This is an awkward moment to walk in on," Demetri, their extractor, says with raised eyebrows.

"Don't worry. It won't affect the job," Arthur states, still looking at Ariadne. Although, now he's smiling, dimples showing a bit.

"Oh, I know," Demetri replies distractedly, already sifting through papers on his makeshift desk and drinking the coffee that he doesn't ask where it came from. "You're the most dedicated person I've ever met. And Eames is just Eames."

"Why do I get the feeling that's an insult?" Eames asks, frowning slightly.

A little embarrassed, Ariadne apologizes quietly.

Arthur actually laughs, shaking his head. "It's fine. That sort of reaction was very appropriate for you." And he walks back to his desk, getting to work.

She isn't sure if she should be offended by that.

After Eames gives Arthur a somewhat fond look, he winks at her and finishes off his jelly donut.

Half an hour later, Demetri notices the box, peeks inside, and announces that Arthur should get laid more often.
