I do not own Inuyasha or its characters.

Sticky Notes

Morning came too fast; life moved too fast. Their lives moved together, though he and Kagome had their separate responsibilities. Inuyasha pushed through the work-week, his job taking more time from his private life than he'd ever intended.

And Kagome was no different; raising their children was a full time job. Their paths often didn't cross until evening, but by then dinner and the children's baths and homework required her full attention.

And too often, when night came and they found themselves alone, sleep came too soon for them both.

Pulling himself from the comfort of their bed, Inuyasha made his way to the bathroom. Kagome and the kids were gone, their day starting well before his. Pushing his hand through his hair, Inuyasha smiled to himself. This weekend he was taking Kagome out. The kids were going to their grandmothers for the weekend, and Inuyasha had every intention of showing her how much he missed her.

Turning the water on to wash his face, Inuyasha's attention was drawn to the lime-green sticky notes placed on the mirror directly in his line of sight.

I never say the things

That echo in my head

Though I always try to say them

Before we go to bed

0~~0

I love you, I need you

I want you to know

That every day I spend with you

My love for you still grows

0~~0

You are the rock

That keeps me from falling down

And you are my life-raft

Without you I would drown

0~~0

I'm glad you put up with me

I say this because it's true

Because honey I would be lost-

If I ever had to live without you…

Pulling the note from the mirror, Inuyasha put them in his wallet. One thing was certain: he loved her more than ever, too.

This drabble was written for and posted to lj for the prompt 'Lost' and came in at exactly 300 words.

I did this for my hubby just a few mornings ago, lol. This prompt inspired the story and the poem, though his love inspired the wording, lol.

*hugs*
