"I need time to…figure out my feelings." I whispered, trying not to look into Mick's eyes. With every word I said, I knew I was breaking his heart.
"It's Clarke, isn't it?" Mick replied, his voice full of envy.
I don't respond, not knowing how to reply with out hurting him further.
"Isn't it?" Mick repeated with more force, demanding an answer.
His hand shoved my chin upwards, forcing me to move my gaze from my shoes to his eyes.
I drew in a shaky breath and whispered "Yes."
He bowed his head and stepped back, creating distance between us.
"He's damn lucky." He said and then brought his eyes back up to mine. "Just…tell me one thing."
"Anything." I whispered, grazing his cheek with my hand.
"Did…did you ever love me?" He struggled out. Tears began collecting in his crystal blue eyes.
"I loved you with all my heart, but…"
"But not anymore." He finished for me and gave me a small, halfhearted smile. A tear slipped down his cheek but he didn't even attempt to brush it away. "Just know, I'll always love you. And…if Clarke makes you happy, then…I want you to be with him."
I gave him a little smile and kissed his cheek softly. "Don't waste your time on me. You deserve better." I whispered and wiped away his tears with my thumb. "Forget about me."
"There's no way I could ever forget about you, Mara" He whispered and wrapped his arms around me.
I hugged him back while tears threatened to spill over. His warm embrace was so loving and sweet. I felt horrible crushing him like this.
I pulled away and went towards the door. As my hand twisted the knob, I turned around.
"Goodbye, Mick." I said softly, finally allowing the tears to stream down my face.
"Goodbye, Mara." He whispered, turning away from me.
I pulled the door open slowly. I walked towards the hallway, my hand still clutching the knob.
I pulled the door behind me, knowing once it was shut there was no turning back. I wasn't just shutting the physical door, I was also shutting the metaphorical door of my relationship with Mick.
My heart wrenched when the knob made the fatal sound, signifying it was closed.

I was really bored and felt like writing a really short oneshot (: This is one of my shortest ever, only like 300 or so words. But I was going for a short, to-the-point one shot. I think I achieved that (: Please review and give me feedback (: Also check out my new multichapter story Rekindling The Fire (:
