Hello all. This was written in honor of the Day of Silence. Nationwide teens took a pledge to be silent for the day to bring awareness to the "silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and thier allies." I just wanted to help spread the awareness.
Discaimer: I don't won Young Justice ro anything else you may recognize.

Wally didn't exactly want this. It wasn't something he chose, it was just the way he'd always been. But sometimes he didn't even want to admit it to himself.
He covered it up with a fake smile. He sped around and acted happy. He acted like he wasn't that way. He acted like he was a normal kid, or at least as normal as a kid with superpowers could get.
But he wasn't normal. He didn't feel normal.
So he flirted with Megan, stared after every remotely attractive girl he saw, and tried even when he knew it was hopeless. Because he couldn't let anyone find out. He knew what they would say. He had listen to his father rant about it constantly along with the scathing comments he had heard in school. So, for the moment, he was silent.
Dick wasn't normal. Or at least, he didn't feel normal. No, he supposed a kid who fought crime from the age of nine and who could hack into supercomputers that men three times his age couldn't even comprehend wasn't exactly what one would call normal, but that wasn't what he was talking about. He knew it was wrong, but he couldn't help it. He dreaded what Bruce and Alfred would say if they ever found out.
Sometimes he wished he could tell someone. He wanted to scream it to the stars. He wanted to stop hiding himself behind a mask or a smirk. But he knew what would happen if he opened his mouth. He was already picked on for being several years younger than most of his classmates and for being the "charity case" that the rich Bruce Wayne picked up. Imagine what he would have to go through if this got out! He didn't need anymore trouble than he already had, and trust him, he had enough.
He was smart though, he wasn't called Boy Wonder for nothing. So, for the moment, he was silent.
There were times when Wally and Dick thought their teammates (and close friends) knew. Like when Artemis would smirk as Dick laughed a little too loud at one of Wally's corny jokes. How Megan's smile would get just a bit wider when she caught Wally staring after Dick for too long. Or even when Roy would roll his eyes and start muttering things like 'get a room' whenever Wally and Dick got into one of their childish arguments.
Despite it all the pair made it through each day. Despite the fear of what would happen if they did come out. For now, they didn't dare.
But as Wally clasps Dick's hand under the table and throws him a smile, they know it's okay and that they'll make it.
Because today they're silent, but maybe tomorrow they won't have to be.
What will you do to stop the silence?
