God is in a Spark
It's first memory is of fire. It was just a child and the house had been set ablaze. It is memorized by the flames. It smiles and weeps as if seeing God.
It has scars after the God-seeing. It keeps them hidden under layers of clothing, even in the summer. The other children laugh and point at it. It doesn't care at all. To it the scars are God's way of marking him, a secret bond, the chosen follower.
It carries matches so it can always see God. It starts burning small things as offerings but slowly falls deeper into worshop. It starts to burn houses, trying to convert other followers like it was. God eats away at the offerings. None join it but it never loses faith in the God.
Soon it is arrested for arson. It tries to explain but no one listens. It goes away to jail. They take his matches away. It sits in the corner of it's cell and cries. It fears for it's God. It touches the scars and waits.
It is called to meet a woman in purple. She tells it that it can burn all that it wants if it works for her. It takes up the offer immediately. It is given a flamethrower and a suit to keep it's scars to itself. It loves the woman in purple. It sends her matches as a token of affection.
It burns all and gets to sacrifice men to God. It laughs and smiles beneath the gas mask. At night after Star Trek it preys to God and touches it's scars. It remembers how it felt to be in flame and weeps.
