I feel that I should first apologise for my long, so very long absence for the world of writing. I don't know what happened. I can't say that I will be posting consistently, but I promise no matter what that I will finish every story that I write, or at least try my hardest to.

With that in mind I will now continue where I left of all those years ago. I have also gone back and revised and slightly edited my previous chapters. Fixed some of the blunders I may have made in my younger years. So feel free to go back and re-read if you so wish, it wont make any difference to the story if you chose not to.

So here we go, the long awaited chapter .9

Maka, didn't remember much of her time in the void. Sometimes in the deep slumbers of sleep she would catch glimpses of memories forgotten, a small child with bright green eyes, a wisp of white hair, which would vanish back into the recesses of her mind upon awakening.

It had been many days, or so it felt since she had left the cell in which she a Soul resided. After her last encounter with Azura and her awakening no one had come to collect her, not even Stein. By all appearances it seemed she was to be left in peace, that he had found at long last what he was looking for. On the whole they where left alone to their own devices. Food portions where dropped of once every day, and with the reprieve form fighting the Kishin every other day or being subjugated to experiments by Stein Maka was starting to put on a little bit of the weight she had lost slowly, much to souls relief.

They had not spoken much about the discussion they had when she work up in his arms those days back. But the thought was there, and the will and motivation to act upon the belief was strong once again. For the first time in so long Maka began to feel the glimmer of hope burning again in her heart, and that was all she needed. Days passed and they spoke nothing of it, instead sitting in the silence of the room. But in that silence she planned and strategized, with Soul constantly at her side, a constant and steady reminder that she was not alone, they where in this together.

It wasn't until the day after they where once again collected to entre the glass room for there weekly shower was it that she finally spoke. She just awoke one morning, wrapped within the protective circle of his arms as she had every morning upon their incarceration and new, it was time to act.

Maka had always been known as one of the smartest people in DWMA alongside Kid, and in the past it had often resulted in her being teased by both friends and other rival students. But it was this side of her that made her one of the most deadly misters in DWMA and allowed her to fight along side the brute strength and Black*Star and skill and power of Death the Kid. Using her mind she was able to predict movements and actions of her enemy, calculate the near impossible and strategize and manipulate her surrounding to her advantage. All this in combination with her sheer will and courage to get the job done made her a formidable enemy in the field. Normally Maka would only have a limited amount of time to collect and gather as much information on her enemy and the environment in which she was in whilst fighting and defending herself in the process, but this time was different, time was on her side. Azura had set up is foundations in the one place she new better then her own home, and the many months of be moved back and forth between different part of the confine had allowed her to map out and articulate the movements and locations of the key players and pawns within her minds eye, and although weakened every battle with the Kishin had allowed her to get to know him, his movements and though pattern, his reactions to particular action. Given a short amount of time Maka could be formidable, but the long agonizing month in captivity, watching, observing had made her deadly; all she needed was the motivation, which had once again returned after awakening form the void.

The soft tickle of Souls warm breath could be felt on the back of her neck, moving carefully so as not to wake him she turned herself to face him. His snow-white hair had grown, and hung loosely around his face sitting just on the tops of his shoulders not, in the soft blue light of the room it looked almost silver. His surprisingly long dark lashes lay against his check and she could just make out the light movement of his irises as they moved about under his eyelids in response to the world in which his dreams had taken him. Her eyes landed on his lips, and although dry and cracked she knew from experience that the were soft and warm, like a breath of spring air in the midst of winter.

Reaching her hand up she lightly traced the tips of her fingers along jaw line, never taking her eyes of him. They hadn't said anything about the kiss they had shared, and they hadn't done so again. Maybe Maka thought, if we survive all this I can tell him.

Her train of thought was interrupted by the sound of a metal tray being scrapped along the floor, and the slosh of water spilling over the edge of a cup. Turning she say the last hints of the light form the hall outside as the small door at the bottom of the cell close leaving behind their ration's for the day. Turning back around she found Soul now very much awake and alert. He looked down at their their eyes meeting and for a moment the world froze and there was nothing but him, but she could not let herself stay in the haven that was the ruby red of his eyes, there where place to go, people to set free and gods to destroy.

Sensing the change in her demeanor, Soul took a deep breath, tipping his head slightly forward to their foreheads touched.

"Its time, isn't it?" his voice was soft, yet firm

"Yes" her voice came out much stronger then she though it would have sounded.

"So what's the plan?"

"First we get out of here, then we free Lord Death, Kid, Black*Star and the other"

"Okay then what"

"Then.." she took a deep breath "then we do what we originally set out to do"

She looked up into his eyes, her determination reflected back to her in the red of his iris,

"We kill a God"
